Sale of Offices.
Sir Richard Temple reports from the Committee appointed to consider of Matters for preventing the Sale of Offices, the Opinion of the Committee, That the Committee be impowered, by the House, to bring in a Bill as well for the Discovery of the Offences against the Statute of the Fifth of Edward the VIth, and other Statutes, concerning the Buying and Selling of Offices, committed since the First of January 1659, as for the preventing the future Sale of Offices.
The Question being put, That Leave be given to the Committee, for the bringing in a Bill for Discovery of Offences against the Statute of the Fifth of Edward the VIth, and other Statutes, concerning the Buying and Selling of Offices, committed since the Twenty-fourth of June 1660;

Sale of Offices.
Sir John Wintour, being called in to the Bar of this House, to produce his Patent, by which he makes Claim to the Trees in the Forest of Deane, did accordingly bring in and leave his Patent, and other Papers, touching the same.
Ordered, That it be referred to the Committee formerly appointed to inspect That Branch of his Majesty's Revenue, arising by the Crown Lands; to inspect the Patent touching Deane Forest, and Papers, brought in by Sir John Wintour, on Monday next; and to make their Report therein to the House.
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill for vesting certain Lands of John Coppleston Gentleman, in Sir Francis Vincent Knight and Baronet, Thomas Waldegrave Esquire, Charles Cornwallis Esquire, Thomas Westlake Gentleman, and their Heirs, to sell, for Payment of his Debts.
Ordered, That the Members that do come, shall have Votes at the Committee touching the Excise: And that these Members following be added to the Committee; viz. Sir Edm. Pooley, Mr. Newton, Sir Cha.
