Prayers.

JOHN Jacob Berlu did this Day take the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy before the Speaker, at the Clerk's Table, in order to his Naturalization.

Rebuilding London.

A Bill for Continuance of a former Act, and for rebuilding the City of London, was read the First time.

Resolved, That this Bill be read the Second time on Monday Morning next.

Beckham's Estate.

Ordered, That Sir Thom. Tomkins, Sir Jo. Brampston, Mr. Owen, Sir Geo. Probert, Mr. Coleman, Mr. Street, Major General Langhorne, Col. Sandys, Mr. Crouch, Lord Fanshaw, Col. Kirkby, Sir Edw. Thurland, Sir Clifford Clifton, Mr. Whittaker, be added to the Committee to which the Bill of Mr. Beckham is committed.

Yarmouth Pier.

A Bill for repairing and maintaining the Haven and Pier of Yarmouth, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time on Tuesday next.

Committee of Elections.

Ordered, That these Members following be added to the Committee of Elections; viz. Mr. Phillips, Mr. Newport, Mr. John Bennett, Mr. St. John, Mr. Tanner, Sir Fran. Anderson, Mr. Hatton, Mr. Roger James, Sir John Northcote.

Regulating Jurors.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Gower, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Pepys, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Clifford Clifton, Sir Solom. Swale, Sir Thom. Strickland, Mr. Orme, Mr. Marvel, Sir Jo. Knight, and all that serve for Yorkshire, Lancashire, and Cornwall, be added to the Committee to which the Bill concerning Jurors is committed.

Answer to Representation.

Mr. Secretary Trevor acquaints the House, That his Majesty had commanded him to let the House know, that he had examined the Matter, concerning Sir John Griffith, and his Instruments, compelling the Masters of Hoys, and other Vessels trading upon the River of Thames, to pay certain Sums of Money, before they pass by the Fort of Gravesend: And finding, both by his own Confession, and other Evidence, the Truth of this Fact, his Majesty hath commanded him to let this House know, that he thinks fit not to continue him any longer Governor, and that he will give Order to discharge him.

Resolved, &c. That the humble Thanks of this House be returned to his Majesty, for his gracious Message to this House, in the Matter relating to Sir John Griffith; and that such Members of this House, that are of the Privy Council, do present the Thanks of the House to his Majesty.

Supply.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, in order to the Consideration of his Majesty's Supply.

Sir Robert Atkins took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Robert Atkins reports, That the Committee had made some further Progress in the Consideration of his Majesty's Supply, and came to these Resolutions; viz.

That the Aid to his Majesty shall be raised by an Imposition on Wine, and other Foreign Liquors, and upon French Linen; and that the House do send to the Farmers, and the King's Officers of the Custom House, for a just Account of what Foreign Liquors, and French Linens, hath been imported between Michaelmas 1667, and Michaelmas 1669; and also a particular Account of what Foreign Liquors hath been imported from Midsummer 1668, to Michaelmas 1669: And that the Commissioners for levying the new Imposition on Wines and other Liquors, do bring in an Account of what they have collected of the said Duty, and what they have secured: And that the Commissioners for taking the publick Accounts do also bring in an Account of what they have before them of the Collection of this Duty: And that the House will resolve into a Committee on Monday Morning next, to proceed in the further Consideration of his Majesty's Supply.

Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree with the Committee, that the Aid to his Majesty shall be raised by an Imposition on Wine and other Foreign Liquors, and upon French Linen:

That the Farmers and King's Officers of the Custom House do bring in a just Account, by Monday Morning next, of what Foreign Liquors, and French Linens, hath been imported between Michaelmas 1667, and Michaelmas 1669; and also a particular Account of what Foreign Liquors hath been imported between Midsummer 1668, and Michaelmas 1669:

That the Commissioners for levying the new Imposition on Wines and other Liquors imported, do bring in an Account on Monday Morning next, of what they have collected of the said Duty, and what they have secured:

That the Commissioners for taking the publick Accounts do send in an Account to this House, of what they have before them of the Collection of the new Imposition on Wines, and other imported Liquors, by Monday Morning next:

That this House will resolve into a Committee of the whole House on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, to proceed in the further Consideration of his Majesty's Supply.

Skelton's, &c. Nat.

Ordered, That these Members following be added to the Committee to which the Bill for Naturalization, is committed; viz. Mr. Newport, Col. Reames, Sir John Knight, Sir Gilbert Talbott, Sir Fretchvile Hollis, Mr. Hatton, Sir Tho. Meres, Sir Edw. Windham: And they are to sit To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the Place formerly appointed.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
