Prayers.

Committee of Privileges.

ORDERED, That Sir Courtney Poole, Major General Langhorne, Mr. Hugh Buscowen, Sir Humphry Hooke, Sir William Fenwicke, Mr. Somersett Fox, Mr. Waller, Sir John Sidenham, Mr. Duncombe, Mr. Duckett, Sir Geo. Cartwright, Colonel Sandys, Sir Will. Whitmore, Sir Joseph Ash, Mr. Child, Sir Robert Southwell, be added to the Committee of Elections and Privileges.

Wendover Election.

A Petition of William Freind, Francis Wells, and Benjamin Delafeild, on the Behalf of themselves, and several Inhabitants of the Town of Wendover, in County of Bucks, was read; subscribed by the Persons above-mentioned:

Who being called in to the Bar of the House, did own the Petition; and that the same was subscribed by them.

Which Petition did complain of an undue Proceeding in Alderman Backwell, in procuring himself to be elected to serve in Parliament, for that Town.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the Committee of Privileges and Elections, to take the Matter of the Petition into Consideration; and to report the Truth of the Case, with their Opinions herein, to the House.

Wendover Election.

Another Petition, of Thomas Wharton Esquire, was read; complaining also of the undue Return of Alderman Backwell, to serve for the Town of Wendover, in Wrong and Injury of the Petitioner, who was duly elected.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the Committee of Elections and Privileges, to take the Matter of the Petition into Consideration; and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Hyeth Election.

A Petition of Edward Hales Esquire, complaining of an undue Return, made by the Mayor of Hyeth, of a Baron to serve for that Port, in the room of Sir Henry Wood, deceased; whereas the Petitioner was duly elected to serve.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the Committee of Elections and Privileges, to take the Matter of the Petition into Consideration; and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Privilege.

A Petition of Robert Wheeler, Henry Guyer, and John Ball, the Persons taken into Custody, for Breach of Privilege, against Sir Robert Dillington, was read; submitting themselves to the Mercy of the House.

The Persons being called in; and kneeling at the Bar of the House, had a Reprimand from Mr. Speaker, for their Contempt and Breach of Privilege.

Upon their Submission,

Ordered, That Robert Wheeler, Samuell Guyer, and John Ball, being the Persons taken into Custody by the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege, be discharged of their Commitment, paying their Fees.

Woolrich's Award.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Child and Mr. Clarke;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act for the Transferring of an Award made by Sir Orlando Bridgman Knight and Baronet, late Lord Keeper of the Great Seal of England, for the Ending of all Differences in the Family of Sir Thomas Woolrich Knight and Baronet, deceased; and to enable John Wolryche Esquire, and his Heirs, to execute the Powers in the said Award mentioned: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Ordered, That this Bill be read on Tuesday Morning next.

Motion for Answer to Address.

A Motion being made, That such Members of this House, as are of his Majesty's Privy Council, be desired to move his Majesty for his gracious Answer, to the humble Petition and Address of this House;

And the House entering on the Debate thereof;

Ordered, That this Debate be adjourned till Tuesday Morning next.

Protestant Dissenters.

Resolved, &c. That this House will resolve into a Committee of the whole House, on Monday Morning, Ten of the Clock, to proceed on the Consideration of the Subject Matter of a Bill for Ease to his Majesty's Protestant Subjects, Dissenters from the Church of England, in Matters of Religion.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning, Eight of the Clock.
