Prayers.

Magdalen College, Cambridge.

ORDERED, That these Members following be added to the Committee, to which the Petition of St. Mary Magdalen College, in Cambridge, is committed; viz. Sir Lanc. Lake, Dr. Burrell, Mr. Orme, Sir Phill. Musgrave, Mr. Steward, Sir Jo. Cotton, Mr. Milward, Sir Jo. Brampston, Sir Thom. Meres, Mr. Musgrave, Mr. Daniell, Lord Allington, Mr. Wright, Sir Geo. Proby.

Bancks' Estate.

Mr. Street reports from the Committee, to which the Bill for Sir Ralph Bancks to have Satisfaction for a just Debt secured by a Mortgage, or to hold the Lands discharged of the Equity of Redemption is committed; that the Committee had met, and carefully perused the Bill; and found no Cause to make any Alteration or Amendment thereto: And delivered in the Bill at the Clerk's Table:

Resolved, &c. That the said Bill be ingrossed.

Beckham's Estate.

A Bill to enable Richard Beckham Esquire, and others, to sell Lands for Payment of Debts, and providing Portions for younger Children, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Thom. Meres, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. Williamson, Sir Jo. Birkenhead, Sir Robert Carr, Sir Jo. Morton, Sir Jo. Lowther, Lord Richardson, Sir Thom. Allen, Mr. Pepis, Sir Edm. Windham, Mr. Mainard, Sir Lanc. Lake, and all the Members that serve for the Counties of Northfolke and Suffolke: And they are to meet To-morrow at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Fees of Custom-house Officers.

A Petition of the Merchants, Mariners, and Traders, of the Port of Boston, in the County of Lincolne, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the Committee appointed to consider of the Fees of the Out Ports; to take the Petition into Consideration, and what is fit for the Petitioners Relief: And these Members following are added to the Committee; viz. Sir Wm. Sandys, Sir Jo. Northcote, Col. Stroude, Mr. Culleford, Sir Anth. Irby, Col. Birch, Sir Jo. Birkenhead, Mr. Buller, Mr. Walter Buckland, Sir Jo. Newton.

Publick Accounts.

The House then resumed the Debate of the Report of the Commissioners for Accounts:

And the Counsel of Sir George Carteret being called in to the Bar of the House; and the fourth and fifth Observations being read; and the Counsel, as to Matter of Law, and Instances and Circumstances relating thereto, being heard; and the Commissioners of Accounts being again called in; and heard; and the Matter debated;

Resolved, &c. That Sir George Carteret is guilty of a Misdemeanor within the fifth Observation of the Commissioners for Accounts.

The sixth Observation of the Commissioners for Accounts was read: And the Commissioners of Accompts attending; and the Counsel of Sir Geo. Carteret being called in, and heard; and the Commissioners giving further Reasons for this Observation;

And both being withdrawn; and the Matter debated;

Resolved, &c. That Sir George Carteret is guilty of a Misdemeanor within the sixth Observation of the Commissioners for Accounts.

The Commissioners of Accompts being again called in; and placed by the Bar of the House; the seventh Observation of the Commissioners for Accounts was read: And the Commissioners gave their further Reasons and Instances upon this Observation;

And Sir George Carteret having made his Defence; and the Matter being debated;

Resolved, &c. That Sir George Carteret is guilty of a Misdemeanor within the said seventh Observation of the Commissioners.

Ordered, That the further Consideration of the Observation, in the Report of the Commissioners for Accounts, be proceeded in To-morrow Morning Ten of the Clock: And the Commissioners are desired to be then present.

Privilege- Petition from a person in custody.

The Petition of Edw. Feild, Mayor of the Borough of Evesham; praying Pardon for making a false Return of a Member to serve for the said Borough, and his Releasement from the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms for the same; was read.

Upon the Debate whereof, the said Edw. Feild was called in to the Bar of the House: And there, upon his Knees, received the Reprimand by Mr. Speaker, for his Miscarriage and Misdemeanor in this Matter; and, that, in hopes of his better Behaviour in the Return of the future Election, his Offence was remitted, and he ordered to be at Liberty.

Ordered, That Edw. Feild, Mayor of the Borough of Evesham, now in the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, be discharged, paying his Fees.

Committee of Privileges.

Ordered, That Mr. Vowell and Sir Thom. Cary be added to the Committee of Privileges and Elections.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
