Prayers.

Privilege.

UPON Complaint made of a Breach of Privilege, committed by one * *, in arresting of Robert Haines, a menial Servant of Sir John Prettiman, a Member of this House;

Ordered, That it be referred to Mr. Speaker, to examine the Matter complained of, and give such Order therein, as he shall find just.

Privilege of a Member in a Suit.

Ordered, That Adam Baines be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for his Breach of Privilege in proceeding to Trial at Law against the Servants and Tenants of the Lord Mandevile, after he had Notice my Lord would insist on his Privilege.

Rebuilding London.

A Bill for rebuilding the City of London, being tendered, and read; but there being a Clause in it to lay a Tax on the People without Leave of the House, was ordered to be withdrawn; and Leave given for a Bill to be brought in To-morrow Morning, with a blank Clause for Continuation of the Imposition on Coals.

Privilege.-Petition from a person in custody.

A Petition of William Whitmore Esquire, now in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms, for a Breach of Privilege, was read.

Resolved, &c. That William Whitmore Esquire, be discharged from the Custody of the Serjeant at Arms.

Call of the House.

Ordered, That the House be called over on Saturday next.

Yarmouth Pier.

Ordered, That Leave be given for bringing in a Bill with an Imposition on Goods, for the Repair of Yarmouth Pier.

Lord Orrery's Impeachment.

The Lord Orrery attending near the House, and desiring Admittance, to give Answer to the Articles of Impeachment exhibited against him; and being called in, and placed in his Seat, near the Bar of the House; and, being infirm, and unable to stand, was admitted to give in his Answer sitting in the House. And every one of the Ten Articles being distinctly read to him, he did, upon reading of each particular Article, give in his Answer thereto, in order as they are writ down, and were read: And withdrew.

The Question being propounded, That a Day be appointed for the Accusers to produce Witnesses to make good the Charge against the said Earl of Orrery;

And the Question being put, That the Question be now put;

The House was divided:

And so it was resolved in the Affirmative.

Leave denied for Members to attend Lords.

Col. Birch informing the House, That he, and some other Members of the House, had received a Note, desiring them to attend a Committee of the House of Lords concerning Trade, moved for the Leave of the House to attend the said Committee.

The Question being put, That Col. Birch, and the rest of the Members, have Leave of this House to attend the Committee;

It passed in the Negative.

Committee of Grievances.

Ordered, That the Committee for Grievances, appointed to sit this Afternoon, be adjourned to the Day appointed.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
