Gery's Estate.

A BILL, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the Settling certain Lands belonging to William Gery, of Bushmead in the County of Bedford, Esquire, in Trustees, to be sold for the Payment of Debts, was read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be read a Second time.

Thorold's Estate.

A Bill to enable Trustees to sell Lands for Payment of the Debts of Sir William Thorold Knight, deceased, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir John Hanmer, Sir Courtney Poole, Sir John Newton, Sir Jonath. Trelawny, Sir John Covert, Sir John Barnaby, Sir Tho. A Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for settling the Laws of the Stannaries of Devon and Cornwall; and Encouragement of Adventurers in Tin; and Preservation of his Majesty's Revenue arising in and by the same; was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Sir Jonath. Trelawny, Sir Joseph Tredenham, Sir John Knight, Sir Courtney Poole, Mr. Maynard, Mr. Morris, Mr. Spry, Sir Fr. Drake, Sir Trevor Williams, Mr. Buscawen, Mr. Mallet, Sir Nic. Slaning, Sir Rob. Southwell, Sir John Talbot, Sir John Cary, Sir Gilbert Talbot, Sir Tho. Meeres, Sir Wm. Navy and Army Estimates.

Sir Tho. Lee reports from the Committee to whom it was referred to consider of the Estimate of the Expence of setting forth Ninety Ships of War, for a Month; and of the Expence of Twenty-six Regiments of Foot, Four Regiments of Horse; and Two Regiments of Dragoons; That the Committee had taken the same into their Consideration; and had ordered him to report as followeth; videlicet,

Resolved, &c. That it be reported, as the Opinion of this Committee, That the Monthly Charge of setting forth and maintaining Ninety Ships of War, viz. Four of the First Rate, Five of the Second Rate, Sixteen of the Third Rate, Forty-seven of the Fourth Rate, Twelve of the Fifth Rate, and Six of the Sixth Rate; together with Fire Ships and Tenders; manned with Twenty-five thousand Five hundred Sixty-two Men, will amount to One hundred Eight thousand Eight hundred Forty Pounds and Ten Shillings, for a Month, consisting of Twentyeight Days; inclusive of the Office of Ordnance, and Necessaries for Sick on Board.

And further reported, That the Committee had not taken into Consideration the Thirty-five thousand Ten Pounds, being for the Value of Materials and Stores for fitting the Hulls, Masts, &c. and also for Boatswains and Carpenters Stores for Six Months, for the Ships of his Majesty yet to be fitted, as Part of the Ninety: That being not contained in the Monthly Expence.

And further reports,

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to take the Report, now made; into Consideration:

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Edward Deering reports from the Committee,

That they had taken the Matter referred to them into their Consideration; and had agreed upon Two Votes to be reported to the House: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: And are as followeth, viz.

Resolved, &c. That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the Monthly Charge of setting forth and maintaining Ninety Ships of War, viz. Four of the First Rate, Five of the Second Rate, Sixteen of the Third Rate, Forty-seven of the Fourth Rate, Twelve of the Fifth Rate, and Six of the Sixth Rate; together with Fire Ships and Tenders; manned with Twenty-five thousand Five hundred Sixty-two Men; will amount to One hundred Eight thousand Eight hundred Forty Pounds Ten Shillings, for a Month, consisting of Twenty-eight Days; inclusive of the Office of Ordnance, and of Necessaries for Sick Men on Board.

Resolved, &c. That it is the Opinion of this Committee, That the total Expence for One Month of Twentysix Regiments of Foot; and the Total of Four Regiments of Horse, consisting of Eight Troops in each Regiment; and Two Regiments of Dragoons; amounts to Forty-nine thousand One hundred Thirty Pounds Thirteen Shillings Four-pence.

The First of the said Votes being read;

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee;
