Prayers.

Merchant's Estate.

A BILL to enable Trustees to sell Lands, for Payment of the Debts of Henry Merchant, a Lunatick, was read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill be committed to Mr. Wright, Sir John Knight, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Trev. Williams, Lord Fitzharding, Mr. Crouch, Sir John Covert, Mr. Progers, Mr. Morris, Mr. Pleydale, Sir John Strode, Sir Adam Browne, Sir Anth. Irby, Mr. May, Mr. Mallet, Sir Robert Can, Sir Fr. Drake, Sir Tho. Lee, Sir Tho. Littleton, Mr. Spry, Sir Tho. Woodcock, Sir John Barnaby, and all the Members that serve for the City of London: And they are to meet on Saturday next, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to consider of the particular Debts, and of the Value of the Lands; and to report it to the House: And are impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Grantham Writ.

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for the Electing of a Member to serve in this present Parliament for the Borough of Grantham, in the room of Sir Wm. Thorold, deceased.

Thyn's Jointure.

The Amendment sent from the Lords, to the Bill to enable Mr. Thyn to settle a Jointure, was thrice read; and, upon the Question, agreed.

Litchfield Election.

A Petition of Michaell Biddolph Esquire, complaining of an undue Return of Sir Henry Littleton, to serve for the City of Litchfield, in the room of Mr. Dyot, deceased; in Injury of the Petitioner, who was duly elected, by the Majority of Voices, and ought to have been returned.

Ordered, That the Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Privileges and Elections; to examine the Matter; and report the same, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

Hearth Money.

The House then proceeded to the Consideration of the Report of the Amendments to the Bill for regulating Abuses in collecting the Duty of Hearth Money.

And the Amendments being read the Second time, with an Amendment made at the Table, were upon the Question, severally agreed.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Hawkers Pedlars, &c.

Ordered, That the Report of the Bill against Hawkers and Pedlars be heard on Saturday Morning next, after Ten of the Clock.

Hearth Money Patents.

Ordered, That the Debate of the Matter concerning the Patent of the Farmers of the Duty of Hearth Money be taken up on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock.

Glocester Election.

Sir Tho. Meeres reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, the State of the Case upon the Election for the City of Glocester: And that the Committee, upon the Debate thereof, had come to a Resolution: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table; and is as followeth:

Resolved, &c. That Colonel Norwood is duly elected to serve in this present Parliament as Citizen for the City of Gloucester.

And the said Vote being twice read at the Clerk's Table;

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee;

The House divide.

The Noes go forth.

Sir Tho. Meeres reports from the Committee of Privileges and Elections, the State of the Case of the Election for the Port of Winchelsea in the County of Sussex: And that the Committee, upon Consideration thereof, agreed upon these Two Votes: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Resolved, &c. That Sir John Banks is not duly elected to serve in this present Parliament, as a Baron for the Port of Winchelsea in the County of Sussex.

Resolved, &c. That Cresheild Draper Esquire is duly elected to serve in this present Parliament for the Port of Winchelsea in the County of Sussex.

The first of the said Votes being twice read;

The Question being put, To agree with the Committee;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

Resolved, &c. That Sir John Banks is not duly elected to serve in this present Parliament as a Baron for the Port of Winchelsea in the County of Sussex.

The last of the said Votes being twice read;

Ordered, That the Cause of Lindsey Level, appointed for To-morrow, be heard at the Bar of the House on Monday Morning next.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees, that were discontinued, be revived; and do sit this Afternoon in the Places formerly appointed.
