APPENDIX

The names of the prebends have been given in the same form as they appear in the current Lichfield Diocesan Handbook but they have been arranged in alphabetical order. As Le Neve-Hardy gives different forms of these names and a slightly different order, two comparative lists have been included. In Le Neve's list the prebends of Alrewas, Bishops Itchington, Bolton, Brewood and Sawley were omitted as they were held by various dignitaries.
