Clopton prov. to treasurership, mand. adm. 4 May (Reg. 1 f. 152b). Bruton's exch. unsuccessful, tried to regain treasurership, but held by Clopton. Bruton complained to abp. 5 Aug. (Reg. Drokensford p. 144). Clopton cited 23 Aug. by abp. for unlawful possession and bp. ordered to reinstate Bruton (ibid.). Bruton made formal res. of treasurership 28 Oct. (ibid. p. 182).
