Thomas Clutterbuck petitioned ineffectively for the treasurership ? June 1660 (Cal. S.P. Dom. 1660-1 p. 84). The office and dignity of Treasurer of York was revived in 1936, when it was given to one of the residentiary canons under the constitution and statutes promulgated by Order in Council of 28 May 1936 (Lond. Gaz. no. 34292).
