901 FRANCIS COLVYLE.
Writ 13 April, 8 Hen. VII; inq. 26 Oct., 9 Hen. VII.
John Colvyle, knt., being seised of the under-mentioned manors and lands in fee demised them to William Calthorpe, knt., and others, to hold to them, their heirs and assigns, for the term of the life of Anne then wife of him the said John Colvyle, and now wife of Robert Brandon, knt., to the use of them the said John and Anne; by virtue of which demise the said William and his co-feoffees were seised of the said premises in their demesne as of frank tenement with reversion thereof expectant to the said John Colvyle and his heirs.
Afterwards the said John Colvyle died and the said reversion descended to the said Francis Colvyle, named in the writ, as his son and heir.
And afterwards the said Francis Colvyle died, viz. 28 Feb. last, when the said reversion descended to Richard Colvyle his son and heir, who is aged 13 and more.
The said Anne, and William Calthorpe survive.
NORF. The reversion of the manors of Walsokyn, Walpole Rystoft, and Halston, and of a messuage and 21a. land in Walpole, the said premises being worth 20l., and held of John, Bishop of Ely, by knight-service.

Writ de Ætate probanda 4 July, 8 Hen. VII; probatio ætatis 10 Oct., 9 Hen. VII.
DEVON. The said Humphrey son and heir of John Walrond was born at Colompton and baptized in the parish church there. He was aged 21 and more on Monday before the Invention of the Holy Cross last. Joan wife of John Meflyn, a juror aged 42 and more, was his foster-mother.
By letters patent 17 Feb., 1 Hen. VII, the King gave his marriage and wardship and the custody of the lands of the said John Walrond to Richard Eggecombe, knt., whose relict and executrix Joan Eggecombe, widow, appears and assents to the above finding.

By deed dated at Mundeford 10 July, 8 Hen. VII, he enfeoffed Edmund Bedyngfeld, knt., William Grey, Humphrey Lytylbury, and Richard Methewold, esqs., William Kekell, gent., John Pers, and John Brownyng of the under-mentioned manor and advowson to the use of his last will, which bears date the last day of August 1493.
He died 10 Sept., 9 Hen. VII. William Seyve, aged one year and more, is his son and heir.
NORF. Manor of Mundeford in Mundeford, worth 10 marks, and the advowson of the church of Mundeford, held of John, Bishop of Ely, as of the manor of Feltwell, co Norfolk, by fealty and 6s. rent yearly.

He died 15 Sept., 9 Hen. VII. Katharine, aged two and more, is his daughter and heir.

905 KATHARINE, late the wife of OLIVER DUDLEY.

Elizabeth, Lady Latymer, late the wife of George Nevile, late Lord Latymer, being seised of the under-mentioned manors in fee, gave them in her pure widowhood by deed to the said Katharine by the name of Katharine, late the wife of the said Oliver, daughter of her the said Elizabeth, to hold for the term of her life without impeachment of waste, by virtue of which grant the said Katharine was seised of the said manors in her demesne as of frank tenement. And the said Elizabeth afterwards died seised of the reversion of the said manors in fee, whereupon the said reversion descended to Richard Nevile, now Lord Latymer, as cousin and heir of the said Elizabeth, viz. son of Henry Nevile, knt., her son.
She died 15 April last. The said Richard, Lord Latymer, is her cousin and heir, viz. son of the said Henry her brother.

910 JOHN TURPYN.
Writ 28 June, 8 Hen. VII; inq. 28 Oct., 9 Hen. VII.
By fine levied 7 Edw. IV Roger Salesbury gave the under-mentioned messuages and land in Arthyngworth and Kelmerssh to the said John Turpyn and Elizabeth his wife with remainder to the heirs of the body of the said Elizabeth, with remainder to her right heirs. She predeceased the said John, having had issue by him a son William.
Henry Michell gave the under-mentioned moiety of the manor of Flore to Walter Mauntell knt., John Sapcote and Guy Wollaston, esqs., Richard Middelton, William Newenham, William Davers, William Dixwell, and John Tryste, to the use of the said John and Elizabeth and the heirs of her body.
John Clerk gave the under-mentioned manor of Northampton called ‘Gobyons’ to the said John and Elizabeth and the heirs of her body.
He died Friday 3 May last, seised of the above-mentioned manors and lands in his demesne as of frank tenement, with reversion to the said William as son and heir of the said Elizabeth. The said William Turpyn, aged 23 and more, is his son and heir.

John Burgh, John Furbysshour, and Thomas Burges, enfeoffed Margery wife of the said William London and Robert Drury, esq., who survive, and the said William, Francis Hethe, and others now deceased, of the under-mentioned land in Tuddenham, &c., to the use of the said Margery for the term of her life and thereafter to the use of the last will of the said William, who by his last will gave his reversion in the said premises for sale, and the proceeds for the welfare of his soul.

Writ, directed to the Escheator of Norfolk and Suffolk, 23 Jan., 8 Hen. VII; inq. taken at Ipswich, co. Suffolk, 4 Nov., 9 Hen. VII.
It was found both in the chancery and the exchequer on the death of Nicholas Wychyngham, esq., 12 Hen. VI, that he died seised of the manor of Fisshle, and that a third part thereof was remaining in the King’s hands because Joan late the wife of the said Nicholas had not sued her dower. She died 4 Aug., 23 Hen. VI, when one Robert Wychyngham, as cousin and heir of the said Nicholas, viz. son of William his son, became seised of the whole manor in fee; and being so seised he enfeoffed John, late Earl of Oxford, and Edmund Wychyngham thereof, who by their deed dated 2 May, 38 Hen. VI, enfeoffed the said James Arblaster and Agnes his wife of the manor called ‘Burgh Hall’ in Fysshle, formerly Thomas de Burgh’s, together with the advowson of Fysshle, and also of the manor of Redham, of a certain marsh of Runham, and of all other lands, tenements, rents, and services (except a piece of land lying in Fysshley opposite the manor of Fysshley called ‘Vilnes maner,’ which piece of land, called ‘Sawystoft atte Hall,’ formerly belonged to Nicholas Wychyngham father of the said Edmund Wychyngham, esq.), in the towns of Fysshley, Upton, Acle, Mowton, Frethorp, North Birlyngham, Basewyk beside Ranworth, South Walsham, ‘Le Heryngsett,’ Berton beside Smalburgh, and Beeston beside Berton, or elsewhere in the hundreds of Blofeld, Walsham, and Taverham, which the said Earl and Edmund Wychyngham lately had by feoffment from Nicholas Wychyngham, John Berney, Robert Reppes, and Thomas Grene; to hold the said manors and other premises (the said piece of land excepted), to the said James and Agnes for the term of their lives without impeachment of waste, with remainder to the right heirs of the body of Nicholas Wychyngham (the said piece of land excepted), with remainder in default to Edmund Wychyngham, Nicholas Wychyngham, John Asole and William Norwich in fee.
The said James survived the said Agnes and died seised of the said premises in his demesne as of frank tenement, 28 Nov., 8 Hen. VII. Thomas Arblaster, aged 30 and more, is his son and heir.

The said Henry Eland died 8 Sept., 9 Hen. VII, seised of the under-mentioned manor, lands, and rents. Mary Eland, aged one year and one month, is his cousin and next heir, viz. daughter of Thomas Eland his son.
NOTTS. Manor of Algarthorp, worth 7l., held of Henry Wyllughby, knt., as of the manor of Wolaton, by service of a pair of gilt spurs, or 7d., yearly.
A selion of land in Bagthorp, two tofts, two crofts, and three acres of land in Lamcote and Ratclyff on Trent, and a rent of 4s. 1d. yearly from divers lands and tenements in Calverton, worth 12s. 4d., tenure unknown.

Writ 8 Oct., inq. 1 Nov., 9 Hen. VII.
He died seised of the under-mentioned office in fee. Other findings as in No. 917.
DERBY. The office of bailiff of the honor of Peverell in and throughout the county of Derby, held of the King in chief, as of the honor of Peverell, by service of rendering 14 marks yearly to the King as fee farm to the Exchequer for the said office of bailiff in the counties of Nottyngham and Derby, due at Easter and Michaelmas by equal payments, for the whole bailiwick. The said bailiwick is worth 40s. clear yearly within the county of Derby.

919 WILLIAM TEMSE, son and heir of ROBERT TEMSE.
Writ de Ætate probanda 24 June, 8 Hen. VII; probatio ætatis, 30 Oct., 9 Hen. VII.
WILTS. He was born at Netherhavyn and baptized in the parish church there on the feast of St. Lucy the Virgin, 13 Dec., 11 Edw. IV; John Bulkeley (a juror, aged 50 and more), William Cosen, and Joan Bulcley, widow, being gossips. The godfathers disputed which of them should give the child his own name, and William Cosen to have the naming agreed to give the said John Bulkley a gallon of wine, which he paid; and because there was no wine in Netherhaven, Richard Couchyn, (a juror, aged 52 and more), rode a black horse to Ambresbury to fetch it, was thrown on his way back, and a jug full, or nigh half a gallon, was spilt, &c.
His lands of inheritance were, by grant from King Edward IV, in the custody of John Boteler.

He enfeoffed Thomas Oxenbrygge, gent., 1 May, 22 Edw. IV, of the under-mentioned manor; and the said Thomas Oxenbrygge received the King’s pardon for acquiring the same by letters patent 12 Nov., 9 Hen. VII.
He died 20 June last. Richard Basset, aged 18 and more, is his son and heir.

John Brouton and John Estwyke being seised of the under-mentioned messuages in fee, gave them to John Mepartysshall and Katharine his wife in tail. Upon a partition made between Florence Asshefeld and Joan Stanford, daughters and heirs of John Botyller, son and heir of Joan, daughter of the said John and Katharine Mepartysshall, of all the lands and tenements whereof the said John their father died seised in fee, fee tail, and frank tenement by the curtesy after the death of Elizabeth their mother, the said messuages were assigned to the said Joan, and John Stanford her husband, to hold in severalty, as parcel of her share of the inheritance. The said John and Joan were seised thereof accordingly in fee tail per formam donacionis, and had issue John Stanford who is dead without issue, Elizabeth now wife of William Cornwaleys, and Margaret now wife of George Hervy.
He survived the said Joan and died 23 Sept., 9 Hen. VII, seised of the premises in his demesne as of frank tenement, as tenant by the curtesy. The said Elizabeth Cornwaleys and Margaret Hervy, aged 20 and more and 18 and more respectively, and his daughters and heirs.
Thomas Leventhorp, aged 33 and more, son of John Leventhorp the younger, is son and heir of the said Joan Stanford.

His lands of inheritance were in the custody of Edmund Hastyngys and Robert Bartilmewe, chaplain, as executors of the will of Edmund Hastyngis, knt., to whom King Richard III had given the same.
