28. DENISE BACOUN.
Writ of certiorari to enquire as to the lands and heir of Denise Bacoun, long since deceased, and who has been in possession of her lands since her death.
She held for her life, of the inheritance of Margery Bacoun, daughter and heir of Edmund Bacoun, late a minor in the king’s wardship, now married to William de Molyns, king’s yeoman. The inquisition is to be taken in the presence and with the advice of Richard de Cressevill and John Cleymund, who sue for the king, or of either of them, 20 November, 26 Edward III.
ESSEX. Inq. taken at Stratford Langethorne, Saturday, the feast of the Conception of the Blessed Mary, 26 Edward III, before the escheator in the presence of Richard de Cressevill and John Cleymund.
Wytham. A messuage and a dovecot.
Wytham, Teye, Aldham and Ultyng. 200a. arable, 10a. meadow, 15a. wood, 15a. pasture and 20s. yearly rent held of the above inheritance of the king as of the honour of Boulogne by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee.
She died on 27 April, 23 Edward III. From the time of her death Amery de Welyngton, knight, has been in possession of all the said lands &c. and received the profits thereof until Sunday before St. Lawrence last, viz. for three years and 14 weeks without any warrant; on which day William de Molyns, who married the said Margery, entered upon all the said lands &c. as of her right, and they have been in possession since according to a fine levied in the king’s court.

29. HENRY FITZ ROGER or FITZ ROGGER.
Writ, 1 February, 26 Edward III.
KENT. Inq. taken at Sellynge by Monks’ Hortone, Thursday after St. Gregory, 26 Edward III.
Sellynge. A moiety of the manor held of the king in chief by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee.
He held nothing of others.
He died on 18 February (sic), 26 Edward III. Alan his son, aged 9 1/4 years, is his heir.

WILTS. Inq. taken at Westkyngton, 18 February, 26 Edward III.
Westkyngton. A moiety of the manor held jointly with Elizabeth his wife, who survives, and their heirs of the gift of Maud, late the wife of Robert de Holand, of the king in chief by knight’s service.
He died on Sunday before the Purification last. Heir as above.

SUSSEX. Inq. taken at Mershtone, 6 March, 26 Edward III.
Mershtone. The manor held jointly with Elizabeth his wife and their heirs of the gift of Margaret, late the wife of Sir John la Warre, knight, who in her widowhood enfeoffed Sir Henry Fitz Roger, knight, and Elizabeth his wife and the heirs of their bodies of the manor and the advowson of the church, with remainder to Sir Thomas de Holand, knight, and the heirs of his body, and further remainder to the right heirs of the aforesaid Henry. The said manor is held of the heirs of Sir Alan la Sowche of the manor of Trewerre in chief by knight’s service.

LEICESTER. Inq. taken at Leicester, 3 March, 26 Edward III.
Glen Magna. The manor (extent given) held jointly with Elizabeth his wife, who survives, of the gift of lady Margaret, late the wife of John la Warre, knight, who enfeoffed them thereof and the heirs of their bodies, with successive remainders to Thomas de Holand, knight, and the heirs of his body and the right heirs of the said Henry. It is held of Robert de Holand by knight’s service.
He held no other lands &c. in the county.
He died on the feast of the Purification last. Heir as above, aged 8 years and more at Christmas last.

SOMERSET. Inq. taken at Welles, Friday after St. Peter in Cathedra, 26 Edward III.
Chuyton. The manor held jointly with Elizabeth his wife, who survives, to them and their heirs of the king in chief by knight’s service of the gift of Maud, late the wife of Robert de Holonde.
He died on Sunday before the Purification last. Heir as above, aged 9 years on the feast of St. Lucy last.
DORSET. Inq. taken at Wymbournmynstre, Wednesday before St. Matthias, 26 Edward III.
Stouremynstre Mareschal. 19s. 3 1/8d. yearly rent, a seventh part of the hundred of Hundredesburghe, an eighth part of a carucate of land in the said town of Stouremynstre and 1 1/2a. meadow there held jointly with Elizabeth his wife, who survives, of the king in chief in free socage of the gift of the abovenamed Maud to the said Henry and Elizabeth and their heirs.
Luseburgh. An eighth part of the hundred similarly held of the same gift of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Mapelerton. A moiety of the manor similarly held by the same gift in fee farm of the abbess of Shaftesbury by service of rendering 40s. and 20 quarters of corn.
Date of death as in the last. Heir as above, aged 9 years and more.

30. THOMAS DE LUNGVILLERS or DE LUNGVILEIRS.
Writ to the escheator to enquire as to the lands and heir of the said Thomas, 15 June, 26 Edward III.
NOTTINGHAM. Inq. taken at Tuxford, Wednesday after St. John the Baptist, 26 Edward III.
Tuxford. A third part of the manor (extent given) and the advowson of a third part of the church there held for life, with remainder to John his son and the heirs of his body, of the king in chief by service of a third part of a moiety of a knight’s fee, with further remainder to the right heirs of the deceased, as appears by the king’s charter of licence dated at Westminster, 1 May, 7 Edward III.
He died on Thursday before St. Bartholomew, 23 Edward III. John de Lungvileirs, his son, then aged 26 years and married, is his heir.

31. RALPH DE LEEK.
Writ, 26 November, 26 Edward III.
YORK. Inq. taken at York, Thursday before the Epiphany, 26 Edward III.
York. He held by the law of England of inheritance of Margaret, sometime his wife, jointly with John de Wythornsee, who survives, who held by the law of England of the inheritance of Alice, sometime his wife, a messuage in the city of the king in chief by homage and service of keeping the gaol of the king’s forest of Galtres, which gaol is in the said messuage, receiving daily for the keeping of the said gaol of the king and his heirs by the hands of the bailiffs of the city 5d. out of the farm of the city, viz. 2 1/2d. each. The said John entered upon his pourparty of the inheritance of his wife Alice by process of court in 23 Edward III after the death of John de Clifton, who held that pourparty by the law of England of the inheritance of Ellen, sometime his wife, sister of the aforesaid Margaret. John and Ellen had sons, who died before them, so that the pourparty of Ellen descended to Alice as daughter of Ellen’s sister Margaret and heir of Ellen. Alice was married to John de Wythornse, who still holds the said pourparty as above. The premises are worth no more yearly than the cost of the keeping and maintenance of the said gaol.
Bustardthorp. 3s. 6d. yearly rent held by the law of England of the inheritance of the same Margaret of the king in chief by the aforesaid service.
He held no other lands. &c. in the county.
He died on 29 October last. Robert son of the aforesaid John de Wythornse and Alice, aged 8 years at the feast of St. Michael last, is, by the death of the said Ralph, heir of the pourparty of the said Margaret.

32. JOHN, SON OF NICHOLAS DE GLENFELD or DE CLENFELD.
Writ to the escheator to enquire as to the lands and heir of the said John, who held by knight’s service of the heir of Henry de Ferariis, a minor in the king’s wardship, 3 May, 26 Edward III.
LEICESTER. Inq. taken at Leicester, 11 May, 26 Edward III.
The said John outlived his father Nicholas, and after the death of John son of Peter, father of the said Nicholas, who also outlived Nicholas and died in the pestilence, the underwritten lands &c. came to him as his grandfather’s heir and he died seised of them while yet a minor.
Clenfeld. A messuage and four virgates of land with an assart called le Stokkynge held of the heir of Henry de Ferrariis, a minor in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service, which knight’s fee along with other knights’ fees, which are of the inheritance of the said heir, the king granted lately by his letters patent to Philippa, queen of England, his consort, until the lawful age of the said heir. The premises are called Dautevyle fee.
Clenfeld. The manor held of the same heir by service of 1lb. pepper yearly of the gift of Roger de Quincy, sometime earl of Winchester; and the said heir holds it of Henry duke of Lancaster by knight’s service as of the honour of Leicester, and the said duke holds of the king.
Clenfeld. A water-mill with a stew &c. held of Robert Raven by service of 1d. yearly; a messuage and a virgate of land held of the same Robert by service of 1/2lb. cummin and a barbed arrow yearly; a messuage and a virgate of land called le Baylilond held of the said duke by service of 6d. yearly.
Sytheston. Certain lands &c. held of Robert de Holand by knight’s service.
Rotheleye. 40s. rent held of the prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England in socage.
Groby. A messuage and a virgate of land held of the abovesaid heir de Ferrariis, by service of 1lb. cummin and 1d. yearly.
Little Gleen. The manor held of Hugh son of Peter de Gleen by service of 4 1/4d. yearly.
There are no other lands &c. in the county of the said inheritance.
The abovesaid Nicholas de Clenfeld died on the feast of Corpus Christi, 23 Edward III, in the pestilence. John son of Peter, father of Nicholas and grandfather of John, died about the feast of St. James in the same year. John son of Nicholas died on 6 October, 23 Edward III, while under age. Baldwin son of Nicholas de Clenfeld, brother of the last, aged 7 years and more at All Saints last, is his heir.

33. JOHN DE LOKERE or DE LOCRE.
Writ after the death of the said John, who held by knight’s service of the heir of Henry de Percy, whose lands &c. are in the king’s hand. 1 May, 26 Edward III.
NORTHUMBERLAND. Inq. taken at Baumburgh, Wednesday before St. Luke, 26 Edward III.
Locre. The manor (extent given), viz. three carucates of land, 12 husbandlands, each containing 24a., eight cottages, a watermill and the service of 1d. from the land of Robert de Hopen and suit of court from the land of Richard de Hopen.
South Charleton. Six marks of yearly rent from the manor, 16 husbandlands, each containing 24a., and eight cottages.
Warenford. Two tofts and 28a. land.
All held of Sir Henry de Percy by knight’s service, except 1 toft, 24a. land in Warenford, of John de Coupland by knight’s service and 1 toft, 4a. land there held of the hospital of Harop.
He held nothing of the king in chief nor of other lords in the county.
He died on 20 April. John de Locre, his son, of full age, is his heir.

34. WALTER DE IDLE or DE INSULA.
Writ, 11 October, 26 Edward III.
GLOUCESTER. Inq. taken at Gloucester, Monday after All Saints, 26 Edward III.
Broderysyndon and Saperton. Moieties of the manors (extents given) with the advowsons of the churches held of the king in chief by knight’s service jointly with Joan his wife, who survives.
He held no other lands &c. in the county.
He died on Friday the eve of St. Michael. William his son, aged 2 years at the feast of St. Peter’s Chains last, is his heir.
Writ, 10 October, 26 Edward III.
SOUTHAMPTON; ISLE OF WIGHT. Inq. taken at Neuport, Saturday after St. Lucy, 26 Edward III.
Netleston and Westebrouk. A messuage and a carucate of land held in free socage by service of a pair of gloves or 1d. yearly of the manor of Gatecombe, which is in the king’s hands by reason of the minority of John son and heir of Sir John del Isle of Gatecombe, knight.
He held nothing of other lords.
Date of death, 28 September last, and heir as above.

SUSSEX. Inq. taken at Pulbergh, 24 October, 26 Edward III.
Pulbergh. A moiety of the manor held jointly with Joan his wife, who survives, of the gift of Thomas de Shurburn, parson of the church of Saperton, and Robert de Taynton, parson of the church of Broderysyndon, to them and the heirs of the body of the said Walter, with remainders to Henry Husee, knight, for his life and Henry son of the said Henry and the heirs of his body, as appears by a fine levied in the king’s court. The said moiety is held of the knights’ fees late of John de Sumery and Nicholaa his wife, which are in the king’s hand because the heirs of the said John and Nicholaa have not prosecuted their claim thereto, by service of a moiety of a knight’s fee.
He held no other lands &c. in the county.
He died on Friday before St. Michael, 26 Edward III. Heir as above.
The said Walter and Joan also held jointly tenements called ‘la Hope’ in the parish of Rugwyk, which are parcel of the said moiety of the manor of Pulbergh, and are held by the aforesaid service.

35. BARTHOLOMEW FANACOURT.
Writ of certiorari as to the value of the manor of Brotton and Skynnergreve in Clvyeland, which Bartholomew de Fanacourt held of the king in chief, and which has been taken into the king’s hand and should remain to the king as an escheat because the said Bartholomew died without an heir, 14 March, 26 Edward III.

Writ of diem clausit extremum, 4 May, 26 Edward III.
YORK. Inq. taken at Gyseburn in Clyveland, Sunday after St. Bartholomew, 26 Edward III.
Skynnergreve. The town (extent given), except a watermill held by Walter Facombergh, lands held by Thomas de Thwyng and ten marks rent. The extent includes tenants at will, who hold divers cottages, and land in ‘le Nesse’ and ‘le Bank,’ two tenants at will who hold two boats on the sea. The toll and prise of fish taken in the sea are worth 13s. 4d. yearly. The fishery in the water of ‘le Beek’ is worth 4s. yearly. He was seised also of a fourth part of the wreck of sea between Rymeswyk and Jarum. The town of Skynnergreve is held of the king in chief as of the crown by knight’s service. The said Bartholomew renders yearly from the said town to Adam de Everyngham of Laxton ten marks, acquired by the said Adam by a fine levied with the present king’s licence.
Brotton. He held nothing in the manor.
Thorp by Kilton. Three tofts and six bovates of land, one toft and two bovates whereof are held of Ralph de Bulmere by knight’s service and a rent of 12d. yearly, and two tofts and four bovates of Thomas de Twyng by knight’s service and by service of rendering 2s. yearly.
He died on Tuesday in the second week of Lent last. Of the heir and his age the jury are ignorant, because he is of the power of the King of France and against the fealty of the King of England, as they understand.

36. ROBERT DE FRITHBY, knight, and AGNES, LATE THE WIFE OF JOHN DE FRITHEBY.
Writ to the escheator to enquire as to the lands and heir of Robert de Fritheby, knight, 26 January, 26 Edward III.
YORK. Inq. taken at York, 7 March, 26 Edward III.
Edelthorp. Certain tenements, value not known, held of John de Gerwardeby by knight’s service.
Grimeston. Certain tenements, value not known, held of Elizabeth, late the wife of William Latymer, as of the manor of Scameston, by knight’s service.
Agnes late the wife of John de Fritheby, mother of the deceased, held in dower and otherwise for her life of the inheritance of the said Robert’s heir certain tenements in Fritheby of the heir of William Latymer, a minor in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service, which knight’s fee, together with other knights’ fees late of the said William Latymer in the county, the king has granted to Philippa, Queen of England, until the lawful age of the said heir. The said Agnes also held for life certain tenements in Berghthorp of John de Gerwardby by knight’s service, and certain tenements in Octon and Tweng of Thomas de Tweng by knight’s service.
The said Robert and Agnes held no other lands &c. in the county of the inheritance of the heir of the said Robert.
He died on 20 August, 23 Edward III, in the pestilence. John de Fritheby, his son, aged 15 years and more, is his heir. The said Agnes died on 14 October, 23 Edward III, in the pestilence.
Writ to the escheator to enquire as to the lands and heir of Agnes, late the wife of John de Fritheby, 2 July, 26 Edward III.
YORK. Inq. taken at Gisburn in Clyveland, Sunday after the Assumption, 26 Edward III.
Middelton-upon-Levene in Clyveland. Tenements held for her life by the said Agnes of the inheritance of John son and heir of Robert de Fritheby, a minor in the king’s wardship, of John Darcy, knight, by service of a sixth part of a knight’s fee. The said John Darcy holds a portion of that fee with other fees of the archbishop of Canterbury as of the archbishopric. The tenements comprise eight messuages and 18 bovates of land and a third part of a water-mill, which are in the hands of tenants at will, who now render yearly for them 4l., beginning from Whitsunday last; but, from the time of the said Agnes’s death until this year, the said tenements were in the hands of tenants at will and rendered only yearly 60s. on account of the mortality in those parts.
She died on 14 October, 23 Edward III, in the pestilence. Heir as above and married, as is said.

37. HUGH DE ULRAM.
Writ, 16 June, 26 Edward III.
YORK; LIBERTY OF HOLDERNESS. Inq. taken at Hedon, Monday, 10 September, 26 Edward III.
Ulram. A messuage and two bovates of land held in demesne and four bovates of land held in service, two of the latter held by John de Ulram for life and two by Katherine de Ulram for life, with reversion to the heirs of deceased, by service of two roses yearly.
Ulram. A messuage, 5 1/2 bovates of land and a pasture called ‘Aleysholm’ held jointly with Emma his wife, who survives, to them and the heirs of the said Hugh of the gift of John de Skipse and Robert de Berneston, chaplains, of the king in chief by the same services by which the earl of Aumale formerly held them of the king’s progenitors as parcel of Holdernesse, because the said earl remitted to the ancestors of the said Hugh the services due to him from the said lands &c.; and by rendering to the prior and convent of Bridelyngton 15s. yearly.
[Ulram.] Two bovates of land which John de Ulram holds for life of the said Hugh by service of a rose yearly, the reversion whereof belongs to the heir of the said Hugh; and two bovates of land held jointly with the aforesaid Emma as above; which four bovates are held of Thomas Darundell and Margery his wife, late the wife of William de Ros of Hamelak, by knight’s service and by rendering 5s. yearly.
He died on 12 February last. William his son, aged 16 years at Christmas last, is his heir.
Writ, 14 February, 27 Edward III.
YORK. Inq. taken at Killum, Friday after the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 27 Edward III.
Eston. A chief messuage in ruins, 6 waste tofts and 11 bovates of land lying waste since the death of the deceased, held of Constantine de Clifton by homage and fealty and by service of rendering to the said Constantine 10 1/2d. yearly to the fines of the wapentake of Dikeryng. The said Constantine and William Squier, his steward, and Emma, late the wife of the deceased, have received and levied and have in their possession all the issues, farms and profits arising from all the said lands &c. from the time of the said Hugh’s death to Whitsunday last.
He held no other lands &c. within the bailiwick.
He died on Thursday before the Purification, 26 Edward III. William de Ulram, his son, aged 14 years and more, is his heir.

38. JOHN DE DURBURGH.
Writ, 4 September, 26 Edward III.
GLOUCESTER AND THE ADJACENT MARCH OF WALES. Inq. taken at Struguill in the March of Wales, Wednesday before the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, 26 Edward III.
Magor in the March of Wales. A messuage, 8a. land, 10a. meadow and 20 marks rent held of the king in chief by service of a sixtieth part of a barony.
He held no other lands &c. in the bailiwick.
He died on Saturday before St. Bartholomew last. Hugh de Durburgh, his son, aged 30 years, is his heir.
Writ, 4 September, 26 Edward III.
SOMERSET. Inq. taken at Wachet, Thursday the eve of St. Matthew, 26 Edward III.
Hethfeld. The manor held for life of John de Mohun of Donsterre by knight’s service of the gift of Robert Fitz Ours, parson of the church of Baudrip, with remainder to Hugh, son of the said John [de Durburgh] and Hawise his wife and the heirs of their bodies.
Cantok. A messuage and a carucate of land held of the heir of Baldwin Malet, a minor in the wardship of Idonia de Beauchamp, by knight’s service.
Almaynesheye. A messuage and 40a. land held of Thomas Fychet by knight’s service.
Stokegommere and Preston. 60s. rent held of the lord of Trowbrugg by knight’s service.
Almenesworthy. A messuage, 100a. land and 40s. rent held of Edward de Stradlyng by knight’s service.
All held for life as above, the gift of the aforesaid Robert.
Carampton, Bickome and Wachet. Three messuages, 40a. arable, 6a. meadow, 20a. wood and 40a. waste held for life of the king in chief by service of a fiftieth part of a knight’s fee of the gift of John de Mohun of Donsterre, with remainder to the aforesaid Hugh as heir of the bodies of the said John de Durburgh and Joan, sometime his wife, deceased.

39. THOMAS DE BEKERYNG or DE BEKERING, knight.
Writ, 26 January, 26 Edward III.
LINCOLN. Inq. taken at Bekering, Tuesday after St. Gregory, 26 Edward III.
Bekering, Howton, Halton and Tiryngton. He held no lands &c. in his demesne as of fee in the county because, before his death, viz. on 7 January, 25 Edward III, he gave by charter his manor of Bekering, 20a. land in Howton, 41s. rent in Halton and three bovates of land in Tiryngton to John de Longevileres, John de Titteley, Simon Rouse, parson of the church of Catteworth, Thomas son of Eustace and Edmund de Wyteweell. The premises are held of William de Roos of Hamlak by service of one knight’s fee only.
He died on 12 January, 25 Edward III. John de Bekering, his son, aged 13 years, is his heir.

Tuxford. A third part of the manor (extent given) held of the king in chief by service of a sixth part of a knight’s fee and rendering yearly to William Deyncourt five marks of the rent issuing therefrom. The said rent of five marks was charged time out of mind on the said third part, on the said Thomas and his ancestors and on all the tenants thereof.
Laxton. The manor (extent given) held as in the last inquisition. He held no other lands &c. in the county.

Bolum. A moiety of the town (extent given).
Ayden. A moiety of the manor (extent given).
Lighton. Four waste tofts and a piece of pasture.
All held of the king by homage and fealty and by service of 20s. to the sheriff for ward of the castle of Newcastle-on-Tyne, and 4s. 4d. yearly for cornage.
Arnham. The manor (extent given).
South Middelton. 3 1/2 husbandlands.
Bradford. Four husbandlands.

41. ROBERT DE HUNGERFORD, knight.

SOUTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at Wyntenyeshertle, Sunday the feast of the Translation of St. Swithin, 26 Edward III.
Lys. The hundred and 10l. rent in Lys held jointly with Geva his wife for their lives of the inheritance of Henry son of Henry Esturmy of the king in chief by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee. Master Adam de Stonore and Edmund le Clerk of Burbath by a fine levied in the king’s court at York in the quinzaine of St. Michael, 16 Edward II, granted the remainder after the death of the said Robert and Geva, to the said Henry Esturmy and Margaret his wife and the heirs of their bodies.
They held no other lands &c. in the county.

He died on Thursday before the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 26 Edward III. The said Edward [de] Stokke, son and heir of Roger de Stokke, aged 20 1/2 years and 15 weeks, is heir of the said manor.

Weston. The manor with its members, Folkeshull and Wolfareshull (extent given), held for life, of the gift of Master John la Zouche, rector of the church of Lodeswelle, and William Danet, with remainder to William son of Eudo la Zouche, who survives, and the heirs of his body. The said manor and members are held of the heir of John de Bello Monte, a minor in the king’s wardship, by service of a knight’s fee.
He held no other lands &c. in the county.
He died on 11 March last. William la Zouche, son of Eudo la Zouche, son of the deceased, aged 30 years and more, is his heir.
LEICESTER. Inq. taken at Claybrok, 20 March, 26 Edward III.
Thorpe Ernald. The manor with its members, Busseby, Therneby and Brenteby (extent given), held of the heir of Henry de Ferrariis, a minor in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service. The wardship of the said heir, together with his lands &c., the king lately granted to Philippa, queen of England, his consort, until the lawful age of the said heir, together with knights’ fees &c. The said heir made a fine with the said queen and by her has seisin and delivery of the said lands &c.
He held no other lands &c. in the county.

Kylpsham. The manor (extent given) held of William de Bohoun, earl of Northampton, as of the castle of Okham, by service of a knight’s fee for life only, the deceased having granted it in remainder to his kinsman William son of Eudo la Zouche and the heirs of his body, with ultimate remainder to his own right heirs.
He held no other lands &c. in the county.

LINCOLN. Inq. taken at Staunford, 21 March, 26 Edward III.
Northwythme. A moiety of a knight’s fee which Andrew Dyve held of him and he of the heir of the earl of Pembroke for a hundredth part of a knight’s fee, and the said heir of the king.
North Steynton. A quarter of a knight’s fee which John de Farle held of him and he of John de Scoteney by knight’s service.
Withcal and Kynthorp. Three parts of a knight’s fee which William de Cantilupo held of him and he of the king by knight’s service, but for how much they know not.
Houghton by Grymesby. A knight’s fee which William de Welle held of him and he of John de Welle as of the manor of Greynesby by knight’s service.
Saltfleteby and Somercotes. A fifteenth part of a knight’s fee which Robert de Leykebourne held of him and he of John de Wylughby by knight’s service.
A twenty-first part of a knight’s fee which John de Cokeryngtone held of him and he of Henry de Vavasour by knight’s service.

NORTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at Braunfeld, Sunday in the middle of Lent, 26 Edward III.
Haryngworth and Fayrhull. The manors (extents given) held of the gift of Henry de Brampcote, Walter Finian and William Darderne by a fine, to him and the heirs of his body, with remainder to his right heirs. The said manor (sic) is held of the heir of Lawrence de Hastynges by service of the third part of a knight’s fee. The extent of Haryngworth includes a park of 600 acres with deer, a common oven, farmed for 13s. 4d. yearly, a several fishery in the river (aqua separalis in ripa de) Welond, which is farmed for half a mark yearly.
Bolewyk and Rothewell. The reversion of the manors after the death of Avice wife of Ralph de Crombwell, held of the gift of the aforesaid Henry, Walter and William by fine levied in the king’s court, to him and the heirs of his body, with remainder to his right heirs. The manor of Bolewyk is held in chief of Hugh de Curteneye by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee and the manor of Rothewell of the heir of the earl of Gloucester by service of half a knight’s fee.
Date of death as above. Heir as above, aged 30 years and more.
Berughby. The manor (extent given), with the advowson of the church, held for life of the gift of Master John la Zouche, rector of the church of Lodeswelles, and William Danet, with remainder to William son of Eudo la Zouche and the heirs of his body, and contingent remainder to the right heirs of the deceased. The said manor is held in chief of the honour of Peverell, which is in the king’s hand by service of a knight’s fee.
Braunfeld and Little Houghton. The manors (extents given) held for life of the gift of Henry Grene and John de Cranesle the younger, with remainder to William, son of William la Zouche, and Agnes his wife and the heirs of their bodies and contingent remainder to the right heirs of the deceased. The said manors are held in chief of the heir of the earl of Pembroke by service of a knight’s fee.
