Writ: Haveryng atte Boure, 28 June, 5 Richard II
WILTS. Inq. taken at Wolfhale, 5 July, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned manors etc. in his demesne as of fee.
Borbache and Coulesfelde. The manor, with a bailiwick of the forest of Savenak, held of the king in chief by service of [providing] a horseman in the king’s army with hauberk, iron cap and barded horse.
Wyke. 2 messuages and 2 virgates of land, with a bailiwick of the forest of Savernak called ‘Westbaillye,’ held of the king in chief by service of 52s. to be paid yearly to the castle of Marlebergh.
Stapelford. A moiety of the manor, with the advowson of the church at every second turn, held of the king in chief by service of a third part of a knight’s fee.
Fyghelden. The manor, held of the king in chief by service of a moiety of a knight’s fee.
He died on 17 June last. William Esturmy, aged 25 years and more, son of Geoffrey Esturmy his brother, is his heir.

SOUTHAMPTON. Inq. taken at Odiham, 10 July, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned manors in his demesne as of fee.
Lysturmy. The manor, with the hundred there, held of the king in chief, as of the manor of Odiham, by service of a fifth part of a knight’s fee and by service of 5s. to be paid yearly at the view of frankpledge held at Odiham.
Elvetham. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the abbot of Cherteseye by service of 30s. yearly.

WARWICK. Inq. taken at Warr’, Thursday after St. Swithin, 6 Richard II.
John Means, knight, formerly held a moiety of the under-mentioned manor of Shirruesleye, and without the late king’s licence gave it to the said Nicholas and William Fylilod, his brother, deceased, and the heirs of William. For 40s. paid by Nicholas the late king granted for himself and his heirs, so far as in him lay, that Nicholas should hold the moiety for life, with remainder to the right heirs of William.
Shirruesleye. A moiety of the manor, held of the king in chief, service not known.
Nicholas died on Saturday the feast of St. Bartholomew last (fn. 1). John Fylilod, aged 8 years and more, son of John Fylilod son of William Fylilod his brother, is his heir.

KENT. Inq. taken at Sellyng, Friday after the Invention of the Holy Cross, 5 Richard II.
He died seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned moiety, which he held as his share (pro proparte sua).
Sellyng by Monks Horton. A moiety of a manor, held of the king in chief, as of the castle of Dover, by 5s. rent yearly for ward of the said castle and 12d. to be paid yearly for suit of the king’s court of ‘redleuett.’
He died on Sunday before SS. Philip and James last. Elizabeth wife of John Bonevyle son of William Bonevyle, knight, is his kinswoman and heir, to wit, daughter of John Fitz Roger, his brother. She was 11 years of age and no more on the feast of the Assumption last.

496. Margaret, late the wife of Robert Fitz Elys
Writ of Mandamus, 26 February, 5 Richard II
OXFORD. Inq. taken at Thame, Tuesday after St. Gregory, 5 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned manor and messuage for life by gift and feoffment of Thomas Bruly, late parson of the church of Waterstoke, to her and the said Robert, formerly her husband, and the heirs of Robert.
Waterpyrye. The manor, held of Lambert Forster, as of his manor called Beufo which he holds for life by the courtesy of England as of the right of Cecily, late his wife, deceased, daughter and heir of Richard Russholm, by service of two-thirds of two knights’ fees.
Thomeley. A messuage, held of John duke of Lancaster by knight’s service, as of the honor of Pontefract (Pontis Frigidi).
She died on Friday, 3 August, 49 Edward III. Heir not known; but John Duyn, aged 21 years on the feast of St. Valentine last, son and heir of Margery daughter of William brother of the said Robert, is kinsman and heir of Robert. He is in the king’s wardship.
Since her death John Bisshopeston, clerk, has received the issues and profits of the manor of Waterpyrie, title not known, and Thomas North of Thomeley has received those of the said messuage, title not known.

BUCKINGHAM. Inq. taken at Neuport Paynell, Saturday after St. Gregory, 5 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned manor of Wormenhale jointly with the said Robert, her husband, deceased, to wit, to them and the heirs of Robert.
She held the under-mentioned manor of Ocle (estate not specified).
Wormenhale. A manor, held of Hugh, earl of Stafford, by knight’s service.
Ocle. The manor, held of Edward, prince of Wales, by knight’s service, as of the honor of Walyngford.
She died on Friday after St. Peter’s Chains last. John Duyn, aged 21 years and more, is next heir of the said Robert, as above. (fn. 2)
John Bysshopeston has occupied the premises since her death and holds them at farm of the king by writ patent of the great seal.

498. William Gros, son and heir of Hugh Gros, a minor
Writ of Devenerunt, 10 May, 5 Richard II
NORFOLK. Inq. taken at Harleston, 1 October, 5 Richard II.
Hugh Gros, father of the said William, held the under-mentioned messuage and 80 a. land etc. in Redenhale in his demesne as of fee; and on his death they came to the late king’s hands by reason of the minority of the heir of William, his son and heir, and are thus still in the present king’s hand.
The said William similarly held the under-mentioned 26 a. land and 1/2 a. meadow in Redenhale and moiety of a messuage etc. in Kyveshale (sic) on the day of his death.
Redenhale. A messuage, 80 a. land, 1 1/2 a. wood, 2 a. meadow, 1 1/2 a. pasture and 10s. 10d. rent, held of the heir of Edward de Monte Acuto, late a minor in the late king’s wardship, as of his manor of Redenhale, by knight’s service and 19s. 8d. and 2 lbs. pepper yearly.
Redenhale. 26 a. land and 2 1/2 a. meadow, held of Sir Walter Mauny by service of collecting the whole of the said Walter’s rent of his hundred of Ersham and by suit to the said hundred every three weeks and a hen yearly at Christmas, in socage.
Kyveshale (recte Ryveshale). A moiety of a messuage, of 100 a. land, of 2 a. meadow and of 1 a. wood, held by knight’s service of the heir of Laurence Hastynges, late earl of Pembroke, a minor in the late king’s wardship. The said moiety is still in the present king’s hand.
(Date of death not given). John Gros, brother of William Gros son and heir of the said Hugh, is next heir of the said William, and was 22 years of age on the feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Mary last.

499. Ralph Gorges, knight, son and heir of Theobald Gorges, knight
Writ of devenerunt after the death of the said Ralph, who died before he had livery of the lands etc. late of the said Theobald. 15 June, 5 Richard II.
DEVON. Inq. (indented) taken at Sandford Peverel, 10 September, 6 Richard II.
The under-mentioned third part of a manor, and no other lands etc., came to the king’s hands by the death of Theobald Gorges, knight. The said Ralph, aged 28 years and more, was Theobald’s son and heir. Agnes late the wife of Theobald had her dower of the said third part after her husband’s death by virtue of a king’s writ to the then escheator, and still holds in dower a third part of the said third part. The other two-thirds of the third part are still in the king’s hand.
Braunton. A third part of the manor, held of the king in free socage by fealty and service of rendering to the king a barbed arrow whenever he hunts in the forest of Exemore.
The said Ralph died on Saturday in Easter week last. Bartholomew Gorges, aged 11 years and more, is his brother and heir.

ISLE OF WIGHT. Inq. (indented) taken at Knyghton, Monday after the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, 6 Richard II.
The under-mentioned manor, and no other lands etc., came to the king’s hands by the death of the said Theobald. Agnes late the wife of Theobald was dowered of a third part thereof by virtue of a writ directed to the escheator, and still holds it in dower. The other two-thirds of the manor are still in the king’s hand and are worth only 20 marks a year because of a pestilence among the tenants there.
Knyghton. The manor, held of the king by knight’s service, as of the honor of the castle of Karysbrok.
The said Ralph, aged 28 years, is beyond the sea in foreign parts, and the jurors know not whether he is alive or dead. If he is dead, Bartholomew son of the said Theobald, aged 13 years and more, is his brother and heir.

SOMERSET. Inq. (indented) taken at Welles, Monday after St. Bartholomew, 6 Richard II.
The under-mentioned manor etc. came to the king’s hands by the death of the said Theobald, and two-thirds thereof are still in the king’s hand because the said Ralph had no livery of them. The other third part is in the hand of Agnes late the wife of Theobald as dower by virtue of a writ directed to the late escheator.
Wroxhale. The manor, with the hamlets of Burton and Nayllesy, members there, held of the earl of Devon in chief by knight’s service. The said two-thirds are worth only 50l. a year because many tenements stand empty owing to a mortality among the tenants, and the demesne lands lie uncultivated through lack of servants and on account of floods.
The said Ralph died about Easter. Bartholomew Gorges, aged 13 1/2 years and more, is his brother of the full blood and next heir.

DORSET. Inq. (indented) taken at Dorchestre, Thursday after St. Bartholomew, 6 Richard II.
Sturmynstre Marchall. A fourth part of the manor and the advowson of the vicarage, held of the king in free socage by service of rendering a pair of spurs or 6d.
Brudeport. A messuage and the advowson of the church of St. Mary there, held of the king in free socage.
Kentecombe. 53s. 4d. from lands etc. which Thomas Swele holds for life by demise of the said Theobald, held of Guy de Briene by knight’s service.
All the above came to the king’s hands by the death of the said Theobald. The messuage, the 53s. 4d. and two-thirds of the said fourth part are still in the king’s hand because Ralph never had livery of them. The other third part of the fourth part is in the hand of Agnes late the wife of Theobald as dower by virtue of a writ directed to the late escheator.

He died seised of the under-mentioned messuages etc. (estate not specified).
Crauden. A capital messuage and 60 a. land, held of Thomas Detchalers, knight, by service of 12d. yearly; 3 tofts and 40 a. land, held of the prior of the hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England by service of 14s. yearly; a messuage and 20 a. land, held of the prioress of St. Radegund, Cantebrig, by service of 13s. yearly; 2 tofts and 20 a. land, held of the master of the hospital of St. Bartholomew, London, by service of 10s. yearly; and a toft with a croft, held of the abbess of Chateriz by service of 3s. yearly.
(Unspecified.) 4 cottages, held of William Neweport, lord of Clopton, by service of 8d. yearly; 3 tofts and 30 a. land, held of John Walter by service of 12s. 1d. yearly; and 1 a. land, held of Simon de Burgh by service of 12d. yearly.

Arnyngton. A toft and 30 a. land, held of Alexander Goldingham and his parceners by service of 6d. yearly.
Crauden. A toft and 20 a. land, held of Geoffrey Cobbe by service of 2s. 3d. yearly.
He died on the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, 3 Richard II. Roger Heron, his son, aged 40 years and more, is his heir.
John Repinghale, escheator in 3 Richard II, seized all the premises into the king’s hand by an inquisition taken before him; and so the king has received the profits since the said feast of St. Thomas.

506. John Holford
Writ of Mandamus, 10 June, 5 Richard II
HEREFORD. Inq. taken at Bromyard, Tuesday after St. Peter’s Chains, 6 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned messuage etc. in his demesne as of fee.
Nokes in Brockesassh hundred. A messuage, 30 a. land, 2 a. meadow, 2 a. wood, and 26s. 8d. rent of assise to be paid by divers free tenants in Rous Maun and Bredynbury, held of Edward III in chief by knight’s service.
He died on Sunday after St. Nicholas, 18 Edward III. He had two daughters, Joan and Margery, who both died under age. Joan had issue a certain John Snede, and Margery a certain John Burstede. John Snede died under age, leaving issue a certain Philip Snede. John Burstede alienated his right in his pourparty of the premises, without the king’s licence, to Walter Rous, who has produced before the escheator the king’s charter of pardon for that trespass. The said Philip, aged 22 years and more, is kinsman and next heir of John Holford.
Thomas Holford, John’s brother, received the issues and profits of the premises for 17 years after John’s death, title not known, but [? he said] he had them by charter of Edward III. Afterwards the escheators received the issues and profits by title of their office, except that Ralph Waleys, John Lucy and Hugh Byseleye, late escheators, received during their time none of the profits, which remain in the hands of the tenants. The aforesaid Walter Rous has received the issues of John Burstede’s pourparty from the date of the writing whereby it was granted to him.

LINCOLN. Inq. taken at Castre, 1 March, 5 Richard II.
He died seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned lands worth 5 marks and 80 a. land in Barton.
During his lifetime he took the issues and profits of the remaining under-mentioned lands etc. in Barton, and so died seised thereof (estate not specified).
He held the under-mentioned lands etc. in Feryby, Yordeburgh and Holbech (estate not specified).
Barton. Lands etc. worth 5 marks yearly in the tenure of Roger de Saltmerks and others unknown, held of the lord de Bello Monte, a minor in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service; and 80 a. poor and uncultivated land in the tenure of William de Garton of Barton.
Barton. Lands etc. sometime of Alice Tydeman, held of the above-mentioned lord.
Feryby. 20 a. land and 10 a. meadow (tenure not specified).
Feryby, Yordeburgh and Holbech in Holand. Lands etc. of which the value and service are not known.
He died on Friday after the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, 5 Richard II. Thomas Kydale, aged 20 years and more, is his son and heir.

BUCKINGHAM. Inq. (indented) taken at Great Crawele, Friday the feast of St. Luke, 5 Richard II.
He held no lands in the county of the king in chief on the day of his death. On the morrow of Michaelmas, 49 Edward III, he granted by charter all the lands etc. which he had in fee in the county to Roger Holm, canon of St. Paul’s, London, William de Neudegate, William Weston, William Rykhull, John Broughton, John Rous, William de Cothull, Sir Robert de Snokeshull and Sir Robert, vicar of the church of Ayllesbury, to hold to them, their heirs and assigns.
He died on 23 August last. (Heir not given.)

NORFOLK. Inq. (indented) taken at Rodham Market, Thursday after SS. Simon and Jude, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned manor in his demesne as of fee.
North Barsham. The manor, held of the earl of Arundel, as of his manor of Castelacre, by service of a fourth part of a knight’s fee.
He died about the Nativity of the Blessed Mary last. Alice wife of Thomas Eldrych and Agnes le Wolf, his sisters, [and John atte Feld, his kinsman], (fn. 3) to wit, son of Isabel atte Feld, his other sister, all aged 40 years and more, are his heirs.

MIDDLESEX. Inq. taken at Westminster, Saturday [word missing] St. Lucy the Virgin, 5 Richard II.
He had no lands etc. in the escheator’s bailiwick; but he died seised in his demesne as of fee of the office of the ushership of the Exchequer with divers other offices belonging thereto, to wit, the offices of ushers and criers in the Common Bench, and of marshals, ushers, criers and barrier-men in all eyres of justices itinerant within the realm of England, together with 5d. a day to be received in the receipt of the Exchequer while the Exchequer is open. The said office and appurtenances are held of the king in chief by grand serjeanty and are worth 20l. yearly.
He died on 2 December, 5 Richard II. John Keuermound, his son, aged 16 years and no more on Friday before Michaelmas last, is his heir so far as concerns the inheritance of the said office etc. Joan sometime his wife is to have dower of the whole of the said office and appurtenance.

ESSEX. Inq. taken before the sheriff at Branketre, Wednesday before St. Margaret, 5 Richard II.
He was seised in his demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manor.
Lyston. The manor of Overhalle, held of the king in chief by service of making ‘wafres’ on the day of the king’s coronation and serving the king with them at his dinner on the said day.
He died on Friday after St. Barnabas, 4 Richard II. Heir not known.

He held no lands etc. in the county.

ESSEX. Inq. taken at Lyston, Tuesday after All Saints, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned manor and advowson in his demesne as of fee.
Lyston. The manor called ‘le Overehalle’ (extent given), with the advowson of the church at every second voidance, held of the king in chief by service of making ‘wafres’ and serving the king with them on the day of his coronation.

Writ of Plura, 12 June, 5 Richard II
ESSEX. Inq. taken at Braneketre, Tuesday after St. Barnabas, 5 Richard II.
(In this inquisition the deceased is described as a citizen of London.) He had no other lands etc. in the county beyond the manor of Overhalle mentioned in the above inquisitions, because long before his death he enfeoffed Alesia lady de Nevyll, John Warde, Thomas Cornewaleys, John Middelton, John Spenser, parson of the church of Drynkeston, john, parson of the church of St. Peter, Cornehelle, and Henry Fannere, William More and Gilbert Bouet, citizens of London, of the under-mentioned manors and lands etc., to hold to them, their heirs and assigns, without any condition.
Gosfeld. The manor, whereof the site of the manor and 180 a. land and 200 a. wood are held of the earl of Oxford by service of a knight’s fee, 40 a. land and 2 a. meadow are held of Robert de Swynbourn and his wife by service of 5s. yearly, and the residue is held of John Haukwode and of the manors of Scoteneys and Topesfeld, service not known.
Lyston. The manor of Netherhalle, with the advowson of the church, held of the earl of March by service of 12s. yearly.
Lyston. Lands etc. called ‘Carboneles,’ held of John Bourghcher, knight by service of 3s. yearly; and lands called ‘Westones,’ held of Thomas Monchensy by service of 1 lb. pepper.
Foxherthe, Borle and Pentelowe. Lands etc., held of the earl of March, the earl of Oxford and Robert de Swynbourn, services not known.
He died on Friday after Holy Trinity, 4 Richard II. Heir not known.

Writ to William de Walleworth, late mayor and escheator of London, to send into Chancery without delay the tenor of an inquisition taken before him by virtue of a writ of diem clausit extremum after the death of the said Richard. 1 August, 6 Richard II.
LONDON. Inq. taken before the said mayor, 18 July, 5 Richard II.
By his charter dated 21 May, 51 Edward III, the said Richard enfeoffed the lady Alesia ……………….. Essex, John Warde, Thomas Cornwaleys, citizens of London, John de Middelton, Sir John, parson of the church of Drynkeston, Sir John, parson of the church of St. Peter ………., London, and Henry Vannere, William More and Gilbert Bouet, citizens of London, of all his manors, lands, rents, services and reversions in the city and suburb of London and the counties of Middlesex, Surrey, Kent, Essex and Suffolk, except the manor of Lyston …………, to hold to them and their heirs and assigns for ever, with a clause of warranty, and the said feoffees were in possession and received the issues for 2 years and more. Afterwards he caused a charter to be made in the names of the said feoffees to the effect that they re-enfeoffed him thereof, without a clause of warranty, and all of them sealed the charter, but without livery of seisin or a letter of attornment ………… the said Thomas Cornewaleys, Henry Vannere, William More and Gilbert Bouet enfeoffed the said Richard of a messuage with a wharf …………… Wyndegoslane in Douegate ward, London, which formerly belonged to John Wylteshire, ‘grocer’; but whether by virtue of the charter ……….. he was enfeoffed of all the lands etc. aforesaid, or whether the charter was read there on the said seisin, the jurors know not, and so they know not whether he died seised …………… by virtue of the said seisin. All the lands etc. or rents which belonged to the said Richard in the city and suburb are held of the king in free burgage, as is the whole city of London.
Richard was killed in the said city on Friday, 14 June, 4 Richard II. He has no heirs surviving, so far as the jurors can ascertain.

518. John Leg
Writ: 16 October, 5 Richard II
SURREY. Inq. (indented) taken at Catteshull, Monday after St. Luke, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned manor, messuages and lands in his demesne as of fee.
Catteshull. The manor, held of the king in chief by service of one knight’s fee. Elizabeth late the wife of Peter Stonhurst held it of him at farm for a term of years of which 2 years are still unexpired, at a rent of 16 marks.
Merwe. A messuage and 18 a. land, held of the prioress of Yvynggeho by fealty and a rent of 2s. yearly, and by suit to her court there every three weeks; and 60 a. land, held of the prior of St. John of Jerusalem by fealty and a rent of 9s. yearly.
Werplesdon. A messuage and 8 a. land, held by fealty and a rent of 2s. yearly, and by suit to the court of the manor of Werplesdon, whether of the present king or of the feoffees of the late king, as of the said manor, the jurors know not.

DORSET. Inq. (indented) taken at Dorchestre, Tuesday after St. Richard, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned knight’s fee, manor and parts of a manor in his demesne as of fee.
Swanwych and Godelyngton in Purbyk. A knight’s fee, held of Edward III in chief in service, as mesne between the king and the tenants, without rendering anything to the king. Of the said fee William Ryngebourne held and still holds a messuage and a carucate of land in Swanwych of the said Robert in demesne, by service of a moiety of the said knight’s fee and by service of 12d. yearly or enclosing 2 yards of the said Robert’s park of Dountyssh yearly, and Henry Taillour held and still holds a messuage and a carucate of land in Godelyngton for the other moiety of the said fee and by the like services.
Deuelyssh. The manor, held of Lionel, duke of Clarence, as of the honor of Gloucester, without payment of any rent.
Dountyssh. Two-thirds of the manor, held of the abbot of Glastonbury by knight’s service, without payment of any rent; and a third part of the said manor, called ‘Tilheye,’ held of the abbot of Cerne by service of holding the abbot’s stirrup when he wishes to mount his horse on the day of his consecration.
He died on 28 August, 35 Edward III. Robert Latymer, aged 21 years and more, is his son and heir.
The custody of his lands and the marriage of his heir was committed by Edward III by letters patent to Robert, late bishop of Salisbury, at a yearly rent of 20l.; and the bishop committed his estate therein to William Latymer for the same rent to be paid to the king. The said William has occupied the premises and received the issues by the above title until now.

She died on Tuesday before St. Leonard, 35 Edward III.
After her death William Turbelvyll, aged 12 years, entered as her son and heir by Andrew Turbervyll, knight, her first husband, and died without heir of himself. After his death John Rocheford, of full age, entered into the manor as his kinsman and heir, and enfeoffed thereof in fee simple Robert Latymer, son of Robert Latymer, and William Latymer, as next friend of the said Robert, has occupied it and received the profits and issues thereof.

He held the under-mentioned manors, towns and lands etc. in his demesne as of fee.
Hodynet. The manor (extent given, including a fair held on the feast of St. Denis and a several pasture called ‘Wybbeley’ and ‘Tunstall’), held of the king in chief, as of the honor of Montgomery, by service of a knight’s fee and being steward of the lord of Montgomery. The said John, lord of Hodynet, and his ancestors, ought to have, and have been accustomed to have, easements of the houses within the bailey of the said castle, and the under-mentioned necessaries, as appurtenant to the stewardship, to wit, to dwell in the bailey with his wife, two esquires, a chamber-woman and a laundress, at the costs of the lord of Montgomery, and to have two robes yearly for himself and two for his wife, suitable for a knight and lady, as well as five grooms, five horses, four brachet hounds and two greyhounds, altogether at the costs of the said lord.
Heyford. A carucate of land, with meadows and pastures adjacent, and a watermill, held of the king in chief by service of 10s. yearly at Michaelmas.

DEVON. Inq. (indented) taken at Lydeforde, Thursday after the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 6 Richard II.
The under-mentioned lands etc. came to the hands of the late king by the death of Richard de Merton, knight, and by reason of the minority of the said Agnes, and are still in the present king’s hand.
Chepyngtoryton. A fourth part of three-fourths of five-sixths of the manor and town, and a fourth part of the advowson of the church, held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Northlieu and Kylmyngton. A fourth part of three-fourths of five-sixths of the manors, held of the heirs of Edward le Despenser, knight, by knight’s service.
Wode and Kyngdon. A fourth part of a messuage, of 2 mills, of a carucate of land, and of 10s. rent, held of John de Cary by knight’s service.
The said Agnes died on 4 June last. Thomas de Merton, aged 30 years and more, is her next heir, to wit, son of Thomas brother of Richard her father.

SOMERSET. Inq. (indented) taken at Yevelchestre, Monday after the octave of Holy Trinity, 5 Richard II.
He held the under-mentioned messuage and carucate in Exton in his demesne as of fee. The late and present kings have occupied them and received the issues and profits of them by the hands of the escheators [since his death].
He held the under-mentioned manor of Honyspill Marreys jointly with Lucy, his wife, for their life, by a fine levied in the king’s court, with successive remainders to John Trivet, knight, and the heirs male of his body, and to the right heirs of the said Stephen. Lucy survived her husband and occupied the manor for two years after his death, and died in seisin in the time of Edward III. On her death John Trivet entered into the manor by virtue of the said remainder, and still occupies it and receives the issues.
He held the under-mentioned manor of Cameleye jointly with the said Lucy, to wit, to him and her and his heirs, by whose feoffment the jurors know not. Lucy survived him and occupied the manor for two years, as above. On her death James, earl of Ormonde, entered into the manor as Stephen’s kinsman and heir, and still occupies it and receives the issues.
Exton. A messuage and a carucate of land, held of the late king by knight’s service for a twentieth part of a knight’s fee.
Honyspill Marreys. The manor, held of William Cogan, knight, by knight’s service.
