Writ, Durham, 21 August, 9 Richard II
ESSEX. Inq. taken at Colcestre, 16 September, 9 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned manors of Lammerssh and Colne Wake, hundred and fee-farms in her demesne as of fee.
Long before her death she granted the under-mentioned manor of Northwelde to Sir John Worthe, knight, for life, at a rent of 40 marks yearly, with remainder after his death to her heirs.
Lammerssh. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the heirs of the earl of Hereford by knight’s service.
Colne Wake. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of Walter Fitz Wauter, lord of Wodeham Wauter, by knight’s service.
Berdestaple. The hundred, held of the king, service not known.
Northwelde. The manor, held of the king, service not known.
Stratford. The fee-farm thereof, worth 11l. 12d. yearly, held of the king, service not known.
Waltham Holy Cross. The fee-farm thereof, worth 50l. yearly, held of the king, service not known.
She died on 8 July last. Thomas Holand, earl of Kent, aged 30 years and more, is her heir.

HERTFORD. Inq. taken at Ware, 9 September, 9 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned manors and court in her demesne as of fee.
Ware. The manor, with the advowson of the priory, held of Sir Henry de Ferariis, lord of Groby, by service of 6l. 8d. yearly; except a messuage and 120 a. land and meadow held for life by John Oustwyk by a grant which Blanche late the wife of Thomas Wake of Lydell made to him thereof (by the name of all the lands etc. in Ware formerly held by William Sywardby) for the term of her life, and by a conformation and ratification made by the princess during Blanche’s lifetime, saving to the princess and her heirs the reversion after John’s death. The said John is still alive.
Hertford. The court of the honor of Brunne there, held of the king, service not known.
Busshey. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the heirs of the earl of Hereford, service not known.

YORK. Inq. taken at York, Wednesday after the Decollation of St. John the Baptist, 9 Richard II.
She died seised in her demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manor, fees and fee-farms.
Cotyngham. The manor, with its members, to wit, Hesill and Weton, held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Cotyngham, Weton, Bentlay, Hundeslay, Wolfreton, Neuton, Etton, Rippelyngham, Brantyngham, Elstanewyk and Holme. Two knight’s fees, held of the king in chief by knight’s service as parcel of the said manor of Cotyngham, together with the advowsons of the priory of Hautemprise and the churches of Cotyngham, Roulay and Etton which pertain to the said manor.
Colyngham and Compton. A fee-farm of 80l. receivable yearly from the abbot and convent of Kirkestall for lands etc. in those places demised to them. The said lands etc. are held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Hemelyngton in Clyveland. A fee-farm of 10 marks receivable yearly from Joan de Heselrigg, late the wife of Donald de Heselrigg, knight, for lands etc. there demised to her for life. The said lands etc. are held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
The princess died on Monday before St. Laurence last. Thomas de Holand, earl of Kent, aged 30 years and more, is her heir.

Writ to the escheator to enquire touching a report that the princess died seised of 10l. rent from the abbot and convent of Kirkestall in addition to the 80l. mentioned in the above inquisition. 20 November, 9 Richard II.
YORK. Inq. taken at Pokelyngton, Tuesday the feast of SS. Philip and James, 9 Richard II.
The princess died seised of 10l. rent from the said abbot and convent for lands etc. in Colyngham and Compton demised to them at fee-farm, in addition to the 80l. mentioned above. The said lands etc. are held of the king in chief by knight’s service. Since her death the said rent has remained unpaid in the hands of the abbot and convent.

BUCKINGHAM. Inq. taken at Ayllesbury, 12 September, 9 Richard II.
She died seised in her demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned rent.
Ayllesbury. 60l. rent of a certain fee-farm receivable yearly from the manor, held of the king in chief, service not known.

BEDFORD. Inq. taken at Bedford, Thursday before St. Hilary, 9 Richard II.
She held no lands etc. in the county on the day of her death, because she gave the under-mentioned manor to John de Holond, her son, for the term of her life.
Stevynton. The manor, held of the king in chief by service of 13s. 4d. yearly by the hands of the sheriff.

John Barcolf had possession of the manor and received the issues thereof from the time of her death until Michaelmas, since when Robert Grenacre, knight, has received the profits by the king’s letters patent.

She held the under-mentioned meadow for life in dower, by endowment of Edward, late prince of Wales, her husband.
Walyngford. A meadow called ‘Kyngesmede’ near the castle, and a fishery in the Thames as it runs by the said meadow, held of the king in chief, services not known.

She died on Tuesday before St. Laurence, 9 Richard II. Thomas Holond, knight, earl of Kent, aged 24 years and more, is her son and heir. The reversion of the above manors and third part belongs to the king as son and heir of Edward, late prince of Wales.

Wych. She held no lands etc. in the county; but the burgesses of Wych hold their town, with the salt pans, toll and all other profits there, of the king at fee-farm for 100l. yearly, which 100l. the princess held of the king in her demesne as of fee, services not known.
She died on Monday before St. Bartholomew, 9 Richard II. Heir as above, aged 27 years and more.

SUFFOLK. Inq. taken at Kerseye, 16 September, 9 Richard II.
She held the under-mentioned manors in her demesne as of fee.
Kerseye. The manor, with the advowson of the priory of Kerseye, held of the king in chief by service of an eighth part of a knight’s fee. The site of the manor, and 180 a. demesne land, 10 a. meadow, 3 a. pasture and 2 a. wood are demised to divers tenants of the manor, to hold to them and their heirs by the rod at the lord’s will for 8l.; a fulling-mill is demised for 66s. 8d. yearly; the market is demised for 100s. yearly; and 60s. is forthcoming from the sale of bondmen’s works with the perquisites of a leet and court.
Leyham. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the heirs of John de Insula, service not known. The site of the manor, and 200 a. demesne land, 15 a. meadow, 20 a. pasture, 20 a. alder grove and 40 a. wood are demised to divers tenants of the manor to hold to them and their heirs by the rod at the lord’s will for 15l. yearly; a fulling-and corn-mill is demised for 60s. yearly; and 60s. is forthcoming from sales of bondmen’s works with the perquisites of a court.

Caldekote. The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the king in chief, as of the honor of Huntingdon, by knight’s service, to wit, half a knight’s fee. The manor is demised at farm for 11l. 17 3/4d. yearly.

Derteforde, Cobeham, Cranstede, Chyselherst and Combe. 18l. yearly rent from divers tenants there, together with the profits &c. of the view of frankpledge held at Derteforde twice a year, to wit, after Michaelmas and Easter, and of the court held there every three weeks.

Lincoln. A court in the city, called ‘rerecountee’, held every 6 weeks, pertaining to the said manor of Brotelby.
She also held of the king in chief 41 knight’s fees and three-fourths of a fee and two-thirds of a fee of la Haye in the aforesaid towns pertaining to the manors of Gretham and Brotelby, whereof Margaret countess of Kent holds in dower 13 fees and three-fourths of a fee and a third part of a fee.
Lincoln. 12s. rent for a fishery in the river Wythum held in fee of the said manor of Brotelby by William de Blyto of Lincoln as parcel of the said manor.
Castre. The castle, with its members, to wit, Castre, Grysseby, Northkelsay, Sowthkelsay, Houton and Fulnetby, held of the king in chief by knight’s service. The rents of assise and farms in all the said towns, together with the tolls of the market and the profits of the courts, are worth 50l. yearly.
Beseby. The manor (extent given), with its appurtenances in the towns of Beseby, Hawardby, Waldneuton, Gonerby, Brygeslay, Askeby, Fenby, Alwaldby and North-cotes, held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Skeldinghop. 30l. rent receivable yearly from Walter Taylbois, knight, in respect of the manor of Skeldinghop. The said rent pertains to the manor of Brotelby.
Grymesby. 50l. rent receivable yearly from the bailiffs of Grymesby at the king’s Exchequer for the port of the town of Grymesby, which is held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Kelby. The manor, extending into Kelby and Rouceby (extent given), held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Brunne. The castle with its members and appurtenances in Brunne, Calthorp, Dyke, Morton, Hermethorp, Creton, Repynghall, Careby, Hathyngton, Whysseby, Bracebryg, Byrton, Methryngham and Loghton (extent given), held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
Estdepyng. The manor, with its members and appurtenances in Estdepyng, Westdepyng, Berham, Stowe, Botheby, Spexton, Brassigburgh, Carleby, Thorleby, Willes-ford, Donyngton, Hemingby, Navenby, Wylbythorp and Glentham (extent given), held of the king in chief by knight’s service.
The princess died seised in her demesne as of fee of 18 knight’s fees in the aforesaid towns pertaining to the castle of Brunne and the manor of Estdepyng.
