	He held the under-mentioned manors and rent in his demesne as of fee. Ingestre. The manor, held of the heir of William late earl of Stafford in chief, service unknown. Rewle. The manor, held of the said heir in chief, service unknown. Gretewych. The manor, held of the said heir in chief, service unknown. Breredon. 40s. rent, held of the lord of Audele, service unknown. He died on Saturday before St Katharine in the year aforesaid. Roger, aged 21 years on the eve of Whitsunday last, is his son and heir.

	She died while a minor in the king’s wardship, seised in her demesne as of fee of the under-mentioned manors, lands etc. and also had the under-mentioned reversions. Wyneanton and Merthyn. The manors, held of the king in chief of his castle of Launceston as of the duchy of Cornwall by knight’s service for a twentieth part of a knight’s fee. Rosewyk. The manor, held of the king as above for a third part of a knight’s fee. Kenell. The manor, held of the king as above for a fourth part of a knight’s fee and a rent of 13s. 6d. yearly. Tretheves. A moiety of the manor, with the advowson of the church of Little St Rumon, held of John de Pomeray, knight, as of his manor of Tregony in socage, by a rent of 3s. 10d. yearly. The reversion of the manor, held by Elizabeth who was the wife of Thomas Carmynowe, grandfather of the said Joan, for life, of Edmund bishop of Exeter of his manor of Penryn in socage. Tretheves. The reversion of a moiety of the manor, with the advowsons of the churches of Great St Rumon and Wymoslay, held for life by the said Elizabeth, by a gift of William Trebull, rector of Great St Rumon, and John Baynard, of John de la Pomeray, knight, of his manor of Tregony in socage. She died on 21 February, last. John Arundell, aged 28 years, and John Trevarthian aged 36 years, are her heirs.

	He held the under-mentioned third part in his demesne as of fee. Arley. A third part of the manor, held of John Rochforde, knight, by knight’s service, quantity unknown. He died on the feast of St Chad, 4 Richard II. Thomas, aged 23 years and more, is his son and heir. The said John Rochford, knight, and Ralph his son and heir have taken the issues and profits since the said Roger’s death by reason of the minority of the said Thomas.

	He held the under-mentioned moiety and lands in his demesne as of fee, jointly with Beatrice his wife, to them and the heirs of Roger.
MARCH OF WALES.	Hemme. A moiety of the hamlet, held of the king in chief by service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee.
SALOP.	Lyghe, Aston Pigot, Whittespone, Bromelowe, Lokeley, Asturley, Ministerley, Worthin, Modelicote and Hampton. A messuage, 2 carucates of land, 6a. meadow, 6a. wood and 10s. rent, held of the earl of Stafford, services unknown. Fenyton. Half a virgate of land, held of the heirs of Hugh Burnell of Fenyton, services unknown. Wytton. Half a virgate of land, held of John de Wytton, service unknown. Date of death and heir as above. The said Beatrice survived her husband and continued her estate in the premises until Monday after Michaelmas, 12 Richard II, when she died. Since then Thomas Gech the younger has occupied them by virtue of the king’s letters patent [Calendar of Close Rolls, 1383-1391, pp. 283-4].

	She was seised of the under-mentioned third part in dower by endowment of John Delves, late her husband, and assignment of Henry Delves, brother and heir of the said John, the reversion belonging to John Delves, son of John son of the said Henry. Buckenhale and Fenton Culvert. A third part of the hamlets. The said John son of John, aged 22 years, held the said third part of the two-thirds of the king in chief by service of a twelfth part of a knight’s fee. She died on Sunday before St Luke last. William son of William de Brereton, knight, aged 40 years and more, is her heir, to wit, son of Ellen sister and heir of the said Isabel.

GLOUCESTER.	Inq. (indented) taken at Westbury, 10 April, 19 Richard II.
	He formerly held the under-mentioned third part and by his charter with the king’s licence enfeoffed thereof Philip Holgot, James Nayssh, Hugh Harper, clerk, Roger Partrych of Snytton and Roger Ward of Tullynton, and they by their charter with the king’s licence granted it to the said John de Eynesford alias Eylesford and Isabel his wife, who is still living, and the heirs of the body of John. He held the under-mentioned manor of Bolley jointly with the said Isabel by gift of Richard Ayssh of Hereford, to them and the heirs of the body of John. Westbury. A third part of the manor, held of the king in chief by knight’s service. Bolley. The manor, held of the earl of March by knight’s service. He died on 18 February last. John de Eynesford, knight, son of John son of Edmund son of Gerard brother of Richard father of Hugh father of John named in the writ, aged 30 years and more, is his heir.

	John son of John de Boulewas, knight, with the licence of Edward III granted to Hugh de Monyton, Thomas de Burghope, John de Stretton and Roger Partrich the reversion of the under-mentioned manor of Brymfeld, which Parnel who was the wife of John de Boulewas, father of the said John, then held for life, and she attorned to them. They granted the reversion to the said John son of John and the heirs of his body with remainder to John de Eylesford and Isabel his wife, who is still living, and their heirs. John son of John died without heir of his body and without having sued the manor out of the hands of Edward III on the death of Parnell so that John de Eylesford and Isabel had livery thereof out of the said king’s hands. He held the under-mentioned manor of Houton and messuage and land in Burghull jointly with the said Isabel, to them and the heirs of the body of John, by gift of Philip Holgot, James Nassh, Hugh Harper, clerk, Roger Partrich and Roger Warde. He held the under-mentioned manor of Wyntercote to him and the heirs of his body. He held the under-mentioned manor of Tullyngton in fee tail. Brymfeld. A moiety of a toft and 14a. land, held of the king in chief by knight’s service and by service of 2 1/2d. yearly to the hundred of Knyghtlowe and suit to the hundred twice yearly. Kyteherdewyke. A toft and a virgate of land, held of Thomas earl of Stafford, a minor in the king’s wardship, by knight’s service, quantity unknown. Chepyngderset. A messuage and 30a. land, of whom held unknown. Avenderset. 4 messuages and 4 virgates of land, held of Kinard de la Beere, knight, by service of 1 lb. pepper and 8d. yearly. A rent of 8s. and 1 lb. pepper is paid yearly to the prior of St John of Jerusalem in England. Wormeleghton. Since the said John’s death John Broke of Shukburgh has taken the issues of the premises in Shukburgh, Robert Verney, Roger Turch and John vicar of the church of Rotteley in Kyteherdewyke, Thomas Boteller, knight, in Chepyngderset, Kinard de la Beere in Avenderset and Wormeleghton and Thomas Ralegh in Farneburgh, title unknown.

He died on Thursday before St Peter’s Chains last without heir of his body. Isabel wife of Robert Hulle, aged 12 years on the eve of the Annunciation last is his sister and heir. The king by letters patent dated at Suthwell, 29 August, 19 Richard II [Calendar of Close Rolls, 1391-1399, p. 160], committed the custody of Thomas Fychet’s lands held of the heir of Richard de Ponynges to John Hulle and Robert Hulle, his son, who have seized the lands to the king’s use and are to answer for the issues.

	He held the under-mentioned manor of Matfen West jointly with Elizabeth his wife with the king’s licence. He died seised in his demesne as of fee of the other under-mentioned manors and lands. Matfen West. The manor (extent given, including a water-mill burnt by the Scots). Naffreton and Naffretonhall. Certain lands and tenements. The above are held of the king by homage, fealty and a fourth part of a knight’s fee. Edlyngham. The manor (extent given), held of Henry de Percy, earl of Northumberland, as of the barony of Bemele by service of a sore sparrowhawk or 6d. yearly. The extent includes a castle worth nothing, a water-mill, pastures called Hanyng, Byskle and Edeschawe, a scaling called Ruthle, lands in le Neweton and Lematon and a rent of 7s. 6d. in Bolton. Lematon Hall. A place so called, held of the prior of St John of Jerusalem in England rendering to him 16d. yearly. Blakheddon. The manor, held of Ralph de Nevyll as of the barony of Bywell by homage and fealty, 6s. 8d. for castle ward and 15d. for cornage. South Boteland. The manor, held of Henry de Percy, earl of Northumberland, as of the barony of Prodhowe by homage and fealty, rendering to him 8s. 8d. yearly, and making an enclosure there called Raa Garth. Riddisdale. A place called le Stele, held of the said earl and Maud his wife, as of the said Maud’s dower, as of the manor of Otreburne, by service of a peppercorn. Thristerston. Lands and tenements, held of John del Scrop and Elizabeth his wife in right of the said Elizabeth, as of the barony of Midford, rendering 18d. yearly. He died on Friday, 31 March, in the year aforesaid. John, aged 8 years on Friday before All Saints, 19 Richard II, is his son and heir.

The extent is as in the preceding inquisition except that the scaling is called Rughley and that there is no mention of Lematon and Bolton. Lemelton. Lands and tenements worth 8l. Blakheddon. The manor, held of Ralph de Nevyll of Westmorland by knight’s service, worth 6l. South Butland. The manor, held of Henry de Percy, earl of Northumberland, worth 66s. 8d. Redesdall. A place called le Steel, held of the said Henry, worth 4 marks. Thristerton. 3 husband-lands, held of John de Scrop and Elizabeth his wife, worth 40s.

NORTHAMPTON.	Inq. taken at Northampton, 20 July, 20 Richard II.
	He held the under-mentioned manor in fee tail by the gift of John Passewe, rector of two thirds of the church of Botyngton, and William Hatelsey, chaplain, to him and Joan his wife, daughter of John Fitz William, knight, and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of the said John de Felton. They had issue two daughters, who are still living. Joan died and John de Felton afterwards married Elizabeth daughter of John de Fenwyk, knight, and they had issue a son, named John. Botyngton. The manor, of whom held and by what service unknown. Date of death as above. Elizabeth, aged 15 years and more, and Joan, aged 13 years and more, are his daughters and heirs.

NORTHAMPTON.	Inq. taken at Wendlyngburgh, Thursday the feast of St Peter’s Chair, 20 Richard II.
	William de Hynton, parson of a third part of the church of Bodyngton, gave the under-mentioned manor to William de Felton, knight, and Isabel his wife and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of William de Felton. After the death of the said William de Felton and Isabel the manor descended to John de Felton, knight, their son. Hynton. The manor, held of the earl of Hereford, service unknown. He died on Good Friday. John, aged 10 years and more, is his son and heir. John Willes occupied the premises from the death of the said John de Felton until the following Michaelmas, since when Thomas Hervey, chaplain, has occupied them, title unknown.

	Robert de Felton gave the under-mentioned manor to William de Felton for life, with remainder to William son of the said William, and the heirs of his body. William the father died seised of such estate and William the son was seised of the manor and after his death it descended to John de Felton, knight, son and heir of the said William son of William. Bodyngton. The manor, held of John le Straunge of Knokyng, knight, by knight’s service. Date of death not given. Heir as last above, in the king’s wardship by reason of other lands that the said John de Felton, knight, held of the king in chief as of the crown.

A messuage, two burgages and a cottage, held of the king in free burgage, paying 2s. yearly, by the hands of the sheriff. Welyngton. A messuage called Whypetesplace, another messuage formerly of John Dagon, and 6 assarts called le Stockynges, within the hay of Welyngton, held of the lord de Burnell, services unknown. He died on Tuesday after Michaelmas in the year aforesaid. Roger, aged 40 years and more, is his son and heir.
