DEVON AND CORNWALL.	Inq. (indented) taken at St Columb Major, Tuesday after St Hilary, 19 Richard II.
	She is and was from her birth an idiot and the custody of the under-mentioned manors etc. ought to belong to the king since the death of the said William, who died in 27 Edward III.

All the above were concealed from the king by William Polglas for 13 years, by John Sergeaux for 22 years, and by John Herle, knight, for 8 years. William Polglas had issue by the said Elizabeth a son, Richard, who was always an idiot from his birth, and a daughter Margaret. The aforesaid John Herle, wishing to get all Elizabeth’s possessions after her death, married the said Margaret and took the said Richard out of the country into unknown parts, so that no one in Cornwall knows if he is alive.

HERTFORD.	Inq. taken at Markyate, Monday before the Nativity of St John the Baptist, 19 Richard II.
	He held the under-mentioned manors in fee tail by gift of Henry Grene and John de Cranesle the younger to William la Zouche, father of the said William, for life and after his death to the said William and Agnes his wife and the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of William the father. The said William and Agnes had issue William, who is still living. Cadyngdon. The manor, held of the dean and chapter of St Paul’s, London. It is charged with 50s. to be paid to the said dean and chapter yearly. Keynesworth. The manor, held of the said dean and chapter, services unknown. It is charged with 49s. to be paid to the said dean and chapter yearly. He died on Saturday before St Dunstan last. William la Zouche, knight, aged 23 years and more, is his son and heir.

	He held the under-mentioned manor and advowson in his demesne as of fee. He also held the under-mentioned messuage and land in Exton and, by his writing dated at Haryngworth, Monday after Michaelmas, 16 Richard II, gave a yearly rent of 5 marks out of them to John Marchaunt, chaplain, for life. He died seised of the reversion of the under-mentioned messuage and land in Wynge, which William la Zouche, his father, granted to John Tyndale, who is still living, for life. He also died seised of the under-mentioned rent. Kylpesham. (fn. 1) The manor, with the advowson of the church, held of the king in chief as of his castle of Okeham by service of a third part of a knight’s fee. Exton.
