Stephen his son, aged 30 years and more, is his next heir.
Writ to the escheator to enquire, as lately commanded, whether Joan, late the wife of the said Robert, was enfeoffed jointly with her said husband of the abovesaid tenements in Camerwell and Pekham, and continued seisin thereof until his death, as she has asserted, or not, 1 December, 9 Edward III.
Endorsed by the escheator that no other writ came to him, and that he warned the said Joan to be present, but she did not appear.

Writ of certiorari, on the petition of Thomas de Hoo, who married Isabel, daughter and heir of the said John, asserting that she is of full age, and seeking the lands &c. which are of her inheritance, which he asserts came to the hands of Roger de Mortuo Mari as wardship, and are in the wardship of Master Richard de Sancto Leodegario by his demise, 31 May, 9 Edward III.
Endorsed by the escheator that the said Master Richard has no lands &c. in his bailiwick, by which he could warn him of the taking of this inquisition.

The said John held no lands &c. in his demesne as of fee in the county, but he held such in co. Hertford, and not elsewhere, of Roger de Mortuo Mari, late earl of March, by knight’s service; which lands &c. came to the hands of the said Roger by wardship, by reason of the minority of Isabel, daughter and heir of the said John, whom Thomas de Hoo married, and are held by knight’s service of the heir of Edmund de Mortuo Mari, who held of the king in chief, a minor and in the king’s wardship, and are now come to the king’s hands, by reason of the minority of the same heir, and are in the wardship of Master Richard de Sancto Leodegario, by the demise of the aforesaid Roger, until the lawful age of the said Isabel. She was born at Hulcote by Toucestre, co. Northampton, is the next heir of the said John, and was 15 years of age on Monday after St. Augustine, in the month of May last.

SOMERSET. Inq. Monday before St. Nicholas, 9 Edward III.
Middelchynnok. He held no lands or tenements in the county in fee on the day he died; but, on Thursday after St. Luke, 4 Edward III, he enfeoffed Walter de Kenewardeslegh and William atte Forde of his manor of Middelchynnok, with the advowson of the church there, to hold to them and their heirs or assigns of the chief lords of that fee by the services thereto pertaining for ever. And the said Walter and William enfeoffed the said William de Daumarle and Maud his wife of the said manor and advowson, to hold to them for their lives of the chief lords of that fee, with remainder to William, son of the said William Daumarle and the heirs male of his body. The manor is held of John de Moleton by knight’s service.

Wodebyry and Limeneston. He held no lands or tenements in the county in fee on the day he died; but, on Monday after the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, 7 Edward III, by the king’s licence, he enfeoffed Walter de Kynewardeslegh, parson of the church of Alvardeston, of his manors of Wodebyry and Limeneston, with the advowson of the church of Limeneston, to hold to him and his heirs of the chief lords of that fee by the services thereto pertaining for ever; and the said Walter, after seisin obtained, by the king’s licence enfeoffed William son of William Daumarle, and Helen his wife, of the said manor of Limeneston, together with 13 marks yearly rent in the said manor of Wodebyry, to hold to the said William son of William, and Helen, and the heirs of their bodies, of the chief lords of that fee, &c. for ever; and the said Walter enfeoffed the said William Daumarle, the father, by the same licence of the king, of the residue of the said manor of Wodebyry, to hold for his life, with remainder to the said William son of William, to hold to him and his heirs by the said Helen, of the chief lords of that fee, &c. for ever; with reversion of the whole of the above to the right heirs of William [Daumarle] the elder. The manor of Wodebyry is held of the king in chief, by service of three barbed arrows and an oaten loaf worth half a farthing, when the king shall hunt in the chace of Dertemore; and the manor of Limeneston is held of Sir Hugh de Courtenay, earl of Devon, by knight’s service.

Alvredeston. A messuage, lands and rent, &c. (extent given), together with the advowson of a chapel in Alvredeston, held jointly with Maud his wife, who still survives, of the gift and enfeoffment of Walter de Kynewaldesle, chaplain there, and William atte Forde, to hold, for the lives of the said William and Maud, of the chief lords of that fee, by the accustomed services, with remainder to William their son and his heirs male, and further remainders to George, brother of the said William, and his heirs male, to Thomas, brother of the said George and his heirs male, and to the right heirs of William Daumarle, their father, for ever. The aforesaid lands and tenements are held of John de Lyle of Gatecumbe, knight, by service of half a knight’s fee, and doing suit every three weeks at the said John’s court at his manor of Gatecoumbe.
