Weston. The manor was held by ‘the said William’ (the grandfather) for life ‘jointly with Alice late the wife of William de Stoppeham grandfather of the said William de Stoppeham’ to them and the heirs of their bodies, which Alice still survives and holds it. The manor is held of John Bygot, lord of Seteryngton, by service of rendering to him and his heirs 30s. yearly.

Two parts of two parts of the manor (extent given), held of Roger de Clifford by service of rendering 40d. yearly to the castle of Appelby for cornage; which two parts, after the death of the said Roger, came into the hand of the king, and are still there, by reason of the minority of the said John’s heir.
The said two parts of two parts rendered 6d. yearly to the lord of the manor of Dufton, for having a water-course to the mill of Knok, when that mill was in tenure. He held nothing of any other.

Loudham [or Loutham]. A messuage, 110a. land, and 24s. rent, held with Thomas Spigurnel [his son], to them and to the heirs of the said Thomas, of John de Wolverton [or Wylmerton], by service of 4d. yearly; a messuage, 100a. land and 2a. wood, held of the said John de Wolverton, by the said service; and 4a. of grove, 3a. heath, and a cottage, held with the said Thomas, of the earl of Hereford by service of a clovegillyflower yearly.
La Rouwtwode. A messuage, three cottages and lands (extent given), held of Matthew la Vache by service of 12s. and four capons, and suit of court.

The site of the manor of Couesgrave, ten messuages, land, wood, and rent (extent given), held by the said Henry and Sarra his wife, jointly enfeoffed by fine levied in the king’s court, of the heir of the earl of Warwick, a minor and in the king’s wardship, as of the manor of Hampslape, by service of an eighth part of a knight’s fee, and by rendering 10s. yearly at the said manor and doing suit every three weeks at the said heir’s court of the said manor of Hampslape; and six messuages, 4 virgates of land, and 10a. meadow, held by the said Henry and Sarra, by the same fine, to them and the heirs of their bodies, of Thomas de Leukenore, by service of an eighth part of a knight’s fee, and by rendering 3s. 4d. yearly.

He held no knights’ fees of the king in chief in the county.
Bobbyngworth. The advowson of the church.
BEDFORD. Extent, 26 July, 2 Edward III.
Clifton. The advowson of the church, of which he was enfeoffed jointly with Sarra his wife and his heirs.
LEICESTER. Inq. taken at Schathewelle on Tuesday before the Nativity of the Blessed Mary, 2 Edward III.
He held no knights’ fees or advowsons of churches in the said county in fee simple (simpliciter).
Schadewelle or Schathewelle. The advowson of the church held jointly with Sarra his wife, who still survives, by the gift of Edmund Spigernel, knight.
BUCKINGHAM. Extent, 10 August, 2 Edward III.
Daggenhale in the parish of Edelesbourgh. The advowson of a chantry in the chapel of All Saints there, held of the king, together with a messuage, 20a. land, 40a. wood, and 50s. rent, in Daggenhale, as appears in the above inquisition by service of 1lb. cummin yearly.
Heir as above, aged 30 years and more.

Leysdon in the Isle of Shepeye. Lands and rents (extent given), including free tenants in Dover rendering 2s. yearly, held of the king in chief, by service of a third part of a knight’s fee, and by rendering 52s. 6d. yearly for the ward of the castle of Dover, as well for the said tenements, as for other lands and tenements in the county of Oxford, viz.—in Coges, Somerton, and Feringford. The said tenements are charged with 12d. yearly for the ferry of Tremhuth, and 6d. yearly to the heirs of Stephen Pone for two acres of the said land lying at Mergare.
OXFORD. Inq. 20 April, 2 Edward III.
Fyryngford. A capital messuage, land, and rents, &c. (extent given), including 13 1/2d. church-scot at the feast of St. Martin, and the alternate presentation to the church.
Somertone. A capital messuage, land and rents &c. (extent given), including the alternate presentation to the church.
Cogges. A capital messuage, lands and rents (extent given).
All held of the king in chief by service of a third part of a knight’s fee, and by rendering yearly 52s. 6d. for the ward (ad custodiam) of the castle of Dover, together with certain lands and tenements in Leysdone and Dover, co. Kent.
John Giffard, the younger, of Twyford, son and heir of Alexandra, daughter of the said Thomas, aged 27 years and more, is his next heir.

North Geveldale. A capital messuage and lands (extent given).
Est Geveldale. A bovate of land and a third part of a ruined water-mill.
All held of the king in chief, by service of finding a sixth part of a cross-bowman (balisterii) in the castle of York at his own charges for forty days, if there shall be war in the county of York.
Alice, late the wife of Richard le Alblaster, mother of the said Walter, holds in dower, of the inheritance of the said Walter, a toft and four bovates and 2 1/2 acres of land in North Geveldale, and a third part of a bovate of land in Est Geveldale.
Ralph his son, aged 5 years, is his next heir.
