LINCOLN.	Inq. Wednesday, the feast of St. Edmund the King, 10 Edward III.
	Mumby and Hoggesthorp. Four bovates of land, held of the king, as of the honour of Albemarle which is in the king’s hand, by fealty, and by service of 1d. yearly. The king receives yearly from the said tenements, 26s. 8d. by the hands of the sheriff of Lincoln, from a certain rent charged by the ancestors of the same (William) to a certain earl of Albemarle, to have his aid. He held no other lands &c. Robert de Paunton, his brother, aged 26 years, is his next heir.

	Sandiacre. A messuage, a toft, and 4 bovates of land, held of the king in chief by fealty and by service of rendering 13s. 4d. yearly at the king’s exchequer. Nicholas his son, aged 14 years, is his next heir.

8.	GILBERT LOVEL.
	Writ of certiorari on the petition of Ralph Lovel, asserting himself to be brother and next heir of the said Gilbert, who died in the king’s wardship, and seeking livery of his lands &c. 6 February, 10 Edward III.
NORFOLK.	Inq. 9 March, 10 Edward III.
	Tychewell. The manor descended by hereditary right to Gilbert Lovel, son and heir of Thomas Lovel, knight, after the death of his said father; which manor is held of John Lovel, son and heir of John Lovel, by knight’s service, and came to the hands of King Edward II by the minority of the said Gilbert, because the aforesaid John was likewise a minor and in the said king’s wardship. The said Gilbert died a minor, and Ralph Lovel, his brother, is his next heir, to whom the said manor descended by hereditary right; but it remained in the hand of King Edward II, by reason of the minority, as well of the said Ralph as of the said John Lovel, as wardship, and for no other cause, and it still remains in the hands of the present king for the same reason. Maud, late the wife of the said Thomas Lovel, holds a third part of the manor as dower, and the two parts remaining in the king’s hand are worth 10l. 13s. 4d. yearly. The said Ralph is brother and next heir of the said Gilbert and was, on the day of St. Barnabas last, 25 years old.

Sikkelinghall. A meadow called Rosenge, and a culture of land called Neweriddingges, held by Sir Henry le Wavasour by knight’s service, and by rendering to the said Sir Henry 13d. yearly. Newesom by Spofford. The town held of Robert de Ros of Ingemanthorp by knight’s service. He held no lands of the king in chief in the wapentake of Clarhowe. SURREY.	Inq. taken at Croydon, 8 April, 10 Edward III.
	Nobricht. The manor (extent given) held of John de Ifeld and Margery his wife, as of the manor of Lageham, which is of the hereditary right of John, son and heir of John de Sancto Johanne of Lageham, by service of rendering 1d. yearly. John de Ifeld has no estate in the said manor of Lageham, except for the life of the said Margery, mother of the said heir. Crawestoke. A messuage, land, wood, and rent, held jointly with Joan late his wife, who still survives, and Edmund their son, of Hugh Daudele, as of the honour of Gloucester, by service of 1lb. of pepper. Shene. A messuage, 60a. arable and 2a. meadow, held jointly with the said Joan, of the Archbishop of Canterbury by service of rendering him 17s. yearly. He held nothing of the king in chief in the county. 	Wolewich. A messuage, land, wood and rent, held jointly with Joan his wife, and Robert their son, and their heirs for ever, of Isabella, queen of England, as of her manor of Eltham, by homage and fealty, and by service of 36s. 8d. yearly. He held nothing of the king in chief in the county. Heir as above, aged 30 years and more.

	Deuelisch. The manor held jointly with Joan his wife, who survives, of Lady Elizabeth de Bourgh by service of a knight’s fee. Dontysch. The manor, held jointly as above, of the abbot of Glastonbury in chief by service of half a knight’s fee. Tylleygh. Certain lands &c. held of the abbot of Cerne in chief by service of grand serjeanty. The aforesaid manors, lands and tenements were held by the said John and Joan, to them and the heirs of their bodies, as appears by a fine levied in the king’s court. He held nothing of the king in chief as of fee in the bailiwick. John son of the said John and Joan, aged 26 years and more, is his next heir.

A messuage, lands, wood, windmill and water-mill, held jointly with Alice his wife, of the gift of Ralph son of Simon, of Great Berdefelde, and Thomas de Shirbourne, chaplain, to hold to the said John and Alice, and the heirs male of the said John, for ever, with remainder, in default of such issue, to Margaret, daughter of the said John, and her heirs; whereof the said messuage and 3a. land are held of John Gyney, by knight’s service; the windmill, 119a. land, 10a. meadow, and 3a. pasture, are held of the lady of Clare, by knight’s service; 12a. land are held of Walter de Boys, as in free socage; and the water-mill, and the residue of the said lands and tenements, are held of Ralph le Merk, by knight’s service. She held no other lands &c. of the inheritance of the said Stephen. The said Stephen, aged 13 years on the feast of the Annunciation last, is her next heir.

18.	JOHN BUSSH or BUSCH, of Mendlisham.

SUFFOLK.	Inq. 9 March, 10 Edward III.
	Mendlesham. He held no lands &c. of the king in chief, because Simon Busch and Richard Busch acquired jointly a messuage, lands and wood, in Mendlesham, which are held of the king by service of finding a crossbowman for forty days in the king’s war in Wales, at his own charges, and by service of 30s. yearly at the king’s exchequer by the hands of the sheriff of Suffolk, to hold to the said Simon and Richard and the heirs of the said Richard. And the said Richard lawfully begot a daughter and heir, Maud, who is of full age, and whom Richard de Remshales married. And the said Richard Busch died, the said Simon surviving, who held the said tenements wholly, until he demised them to the said John Busche, who has died, for his life. They are held of Otho de Botourt, by service of 56s to be paid yearly to him. Maud and Joan, daughters of the said John Busche, aged 10 years and more, are his next heirs. Endorsed:—By fine of 20s., because the within written tenements were acquired without the king’s licence.
