	He held no lands, &c. in the county. He died on Tuesday after St. Martin in the Winter, 21 Edward III. William de Waweton, his brother, of full age, is his heir.

YORK; LIBERTY OF HOLDERNESS.	Inq. taken at Hedon, Tuesday, 29 April, 22 Edward III.
	Burtonpidse. A messuage and two bovates of land held in fee tail, of the gift and feoffment of Hugh de Preston, parson of the church of Halsham, made to Philip Musket, sometime her husband, and to her and to the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the right heirs of the said Philip. The said Philip and Alice died without heir of their bodies, and the said messuage and land ought to remain to John son of John Musket, kinsman and heir of the said Philip, by the form of the said gift. The said messuage and land are held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Aumale, by service of making summonses and attachments for the court of the said honour at Barowe, co. Lincoln. She died on 7 February last.

	Barenton. A messuage and 30a. land held of the king in chief by service of a twentieth part of a knight’s fee. He died on Wednesday after St. Mark last. Thomas his son, aged 27 years and more, is his heir.

BERKS.	Inq. made at Abyndon 11 May, 22 Edward III.
	Baylesclyve by Lekhamsted. Two parts of a messuage and of two virgates of land, pasture for 12 oxen and cows with four years’ issues of the cows, and for six horses, 24 pigs, 300 sheep and wethers in ‘le Thiket’ and in all the fields and pastures of the town of Lekhamsted, held of the inheritance of John de Schortecoumbe, for the said Peter’s life, by the grant of Robert de Schortecoumbe, grandfather of the said John. The said two parts, with the third part which Alice, late the wife of Robert de Schortecoumbe, holds as dower, are held of the king by reason of the lands, &c. late of Margery, late the wife of Nicholas de la Beche, which are in the king’s hand, by service of a pair of gilt spurs. He died on Friday before St. Peter’s Chains last. He has no heir of his blood, but he held the aforesaid tenements of the inheritance of the said John de Schortecoumbe, to whom they ought to remain after the death of the said Richard [Peter in the exchequer inquisition], which John is 14 years of age and more.

	Alwardebury. A quarter of a messuage, 6a. land and 1 1/2a. meadow held of the king in chief by knight’s service; (fn. 1) and 2a. land held of the heirs of Oliver de Ingham, to her and her heirs, by fealty. She died on 28 April, 22 Edward III. William Heyras her son, aged 6 years, is her heir.

84.	THOMAS DE SWYNBURN.
	Writ of certiorari on the petition of Robert de Swynburn, asserting that he is son and heir of the said Thomas, who held of the king in chief as of the honour of Relegh, lately in the king’s hand and now in the hand of William de Bohun, earl of Northampton, by the king’s grant, and that he is of full age, and praying for livery of the lands &c. of his inheritance, which came to the king’s hands by the death of the said Thomas and his own minority, and are in the custody of John Darcy by the king’s commission, 20 October, 22 Edward III.
	Endorsed by the escheator that he warned the said John Darcy to be present, but he came not.
SUFFOLK.	Inq. taken at Glemesford on Friday after St. Martin, 22 Edward III.
	Wistone. The manor held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Relegh, by service of half a knight’s fee. The said manor was seized into the king’s hand as abovesaid and for no other cause. He held no other lands, &c. in the county. Robert his son, aged 21 years and more, is his heir.

85.	JOHN BERNARD of Brodetoun.
	Writ, 3 June, 22 Edward III.
WILTS.	Inq. taken at Marlebergh on Friday after St. Barnabas, 22 Edward III.
	La Brodetoun. A messuage and a carucate of land containing 80a. land, 5a. meadow and a dovecot, held, of the demise of John Bernard the younger, his son, jointly with Agnes his wife, who survives, for their lives, with reversion to the said John the son and his heirs. The said John son of John held the said messuage and land of William de Monte Acuto, late earl of Salisbury, lord of the manor of Hampstede Mareschal, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee; which manor is in the king’s hand, as is said. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on Monday after St. Katharine, 21 Edward III. The said John his son, of full age, is his heir.

87.	JOHN DE CERNE.
	Writ of certiorari, on the petition of Edward de Cerne, asserting that he is brother and heir of John de Cerne, son and heir of John de Cerne, deceased, who held of the king in chief, which John the son died whilst he was a minor in the king’s wardship, as is said, and that he, Edward, is of full age and seeking livery of the lands, &c. of his inheritance, which came to the king’s hand by the death of the said John, the father, and by reason of the minority of the said John the son, and are still in the king’s hand and in the custody of John de Ravenesholm, by the king’s commission, 4 February, 22 Edward III.
	Endorsed by the escheator that he has made inquisition as ordered, warning John de Ravenesholm to be present.
KENT.	Inq. taken at Maidestane 13 February, 22 Edward III.
	John de Cerne, son and heir of John de Cerne, being of full age, but nevertheless in the king’s wardship, died on the day of St. Denis, 20 Edward III. What lands &c. were in the king’s hand by the death of the said John de Cerne and by reason of the minority of the said John de Cerne, the son and heir, and of whom they were held and by what service, and how much they are worth yearly, the jurors know not. Edward de Cerne, now aged 21 years and more, is brother and heir of John de Cerne, son and heir of John de Cerne, and was born at Huntyngton, co. Kent.

88.	THOMAS DE SANCTO LAURENCIO.
	Writ, 14 October, 22 Edward III.
KENT.	Inq. taken at Canterbury on Wednesday before All Saints, 22 Edward III.
	Westber’. A moiety of a knight’s fee held in demesne jointly with Maud his wife, who survives, and his heirs, of the abbot of St. Augustine’s, Canterbury, but now in the king’s hand by the death of the said abbot, by service of a moiety of a knight’s fee. Swalclyve. A moiety of a knight’s fee held in service of the same abbey, which John de Swalclyve held of the said Thomas by the said service on the day the said Thomas died. He held no lands &c. of other lords. He died on Sunday the feast of St. Matthew, 22 Edward III. Thomas, son of Thomas son of the said Thomas, aged 3 years on the feast of St. Michael in the same year, is his heir.

89.	JOHN DE TIDILMYNTON.
	Writ, 7 April, 22 Edward III.
DORSET.	Inq. taken at Dorchestre on Saturday the eve of Easter, 22 Edward III.
	Wynterbourne St. Martin. He held no lands &c. in the county on the day he died because, though he lately held a toft and 24a. land in Wynterbourne St. Martin and the advowson of the church of the said town of the king in chief by knight’s service, by the gift and feoffment of Robert fuiz Payen, by the king’s licence, he granted the same to Walter Waleys and John Kemeseye fifteen days before his death, without the king’s licence, charging the same with two marks yearly to Walter de Pavely for life, and the said tenements are worth nothing beyond the said charge, whilst the said Walter is alive. The said toft and land are glebe of the church aforesaid. Stottyngweye. He lately held a messuage, 120a. land, 15a. meadow and 4l. rent in Stottyngweye of the abbot and convent of Abbotesbury by knight’s service and by rendering to them 26s. 4d. yearly, but gave the same to Walter Waleys and John Kemeseye as above. Wynterbourne Assh. He lately held a messuage and 4a. land of the same abbot and convent by knight’s service and by rendering to them 13 1/2d. yearly, but gave the same to the said Walter and John as above. He died on Sunday after St. Ambrose last. Who may be his heir in blood or of what age he is, the jury are altogether ignorant, because he has none begotten of him or known in the county.

GLOUCESTER.	Inq. taken at Pychincoumbe, Friday after the Ascension, 22 Edward III.
	Pychincoumbe. The manor, held jointly with Isabel his wife, by the gift of Walter de Wylton to them and the heirs of the said Isabel, of the king in chief by service of 5s. yearly. Payneswyke. Two virgates of land held of Sir Richard Talebot by service of 14d. yearly. He died on Wednesday, 7 May, 22 Edward III. John his son, aged 28 years and more, is his heir.

DORSET.	Inq. taken at Shaftebury on Friday the morrow of the Ascension, 22 Edward III.
	Bukeres Weston. A messuage, two carucates of land, 28 1/2a. meadow, 40a. wood and 49s. 7d. rent held for his life jointly with Isabel his wife, who survives, of the earl of Devon, as of his manor of Coker, by service of rendering to him yearly a sparrow-hawk or 2s., by the grant of Walter de Wylton by fine levied in the court of King Edward II. He died on Wednesday after St. John before the Latin Gate last. Heir as above, aged 26 years and more.

DEVON.	Inq. taken at Exeter on Tuesday before St. Barnabas, 22 Edward III.
	Clovely. A carucate of land with a mediety of the advowson of the church, held jointly with Isabel his wife for their lives, by the demise of William le Butillir, of Hugh le Despenser in chief for a quarter of a knight’s fee, of the honour of Gloucester. Hele Gyffarde, Hele Secchevyle and Corlee. A carucate of land, 10a. wood and 6s. rent held jointly as above, by the demise of William de More, parson of the church of [Donyngton (fn. 3) ], held of the earl of Devon in chief for a fortieth part of a knight’s fee, as of the honour of Plympton. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on 7 May, [22] Edward III. Heir as above, aged 28 years.

	Lachyndon. 50a. land, 30a. marsh and 2a. pasture held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Hagenet, by service of rendering 10s. yearly for the ward of the castle of Dover; a messuage and 60a. arable held of the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, by service of 8s., a ploughshare and a bederep yearly, and by suit at the court of the said prior at the manor of Lallyng every three weeks; and 7a. of enclosed marsh held of the abbess of Berkyngge by service of 1/2d. yearly. All charged with 4l. yearly rent to Richard de Haveryng. Great Bryche. 6a. land held of John Gernon by service of 2s. yearly and suit of court every three weeks. He died on 25 December last. 	Drynghowe. A messuage, 2 tofts, 4 bovates of land, 14a. meadow and a wind-mill held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Aumale, by service of keeping two of the king’s falcons at his manor of Cleton in Holdernesse during the time the king shall stay there, taking for the said keeping 3s. a day. Bonnewyk. Two tofts and two bovates of land held of the king in chief, as of the honour aforesaid, by service of a hundred and eightieth part of a knight’s fee. Skipseburgh and Drynghowe. A toft in Skipseburgh and two parts of a bovate of land in Drynghowe with the reversion of the third part after the death of Margaret, late the wife of John de la More, who holds it in dower, held of the king in chief, as of the honour aforesaid, by service of rendering 12d. yearly. Beford. A toft held of John de Gouxhull by knight’s service and by service of 1 1/2d. yearly; and two tofts and four bovates and a half of land held of the prior of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem in England by fealty and by service of 12d. yearly. But at another time it was found before William Lengleys, late escheator, by an inquisition taken on 2 May, 16 Edward III, that the said two tofts and four bovates and a half were held of the king, as of the honour of Aumale, by the services aforesaid, although it cannot be so found now. Drynghowe. Two tofts, five bovates and a half of land and 7a. meadow held of William de Greystok, knight, by fealty and by service of 18d. yearly. Skipseburgh. Two parts of a toft with the reversion of the third part, which the aforesaid Margaret holds in dower, held of the prior of Bridelyngton by service of 2s. yearly; and a toft held of Robert de la Twyere, knight, by service of 3s. 4d. yearly. Drynghowe. A plot of land held of the prior of Watton by service of 1d. yearly; and a moiety of a toft held of Walter de Sywardeby by service of 1d. yearly. Brandesburton. A toft held of Robert Sourdevale by service of 1d. yearly. He died on 8 December last. Robert his son, aged 8 weeks, is his heir.

	Preston. A toft, 3 bovates and 6a. land, 4a. meadow and pasture for three fat beasts held of the king in chief, as of the honour of Aumale, by service of a hundred and twentieth part of a knight’s fee and doing suit at the king’s wapentake of Holdernesse every three weeks; a messuage and a bovate of land held of Alexander Haukyn by service of a clove yearly; a toft held of Roger de Sprotle by service of 2d. yearly; 6 1/2a. land held of the heirs of Adam de Preston, Benet de Preston and Gilbert de Lound by service of maintaining and repairing three ditches (gotas) in Preston. Wyveton by Preston. A messuage, a toft and 5 1/2 bovates of land held of John de Wyveton by service of 3d. yearly. Paghelflet. Three tofts and pasture for 5 1/2 cows held of the king in chief as of the honour aforesaid, by service of 5s. 4 1/4d. yearly; and a toft and a moiety of a bovate of land held of the prioress of Cotum by service of 5s. 4d. yearly. He died on 5 July last. Ingelram his son, aged 40 years and more, is his heir.

	Strete. A moiety of the manor (full extent given), held of the king in chief, as of the honour of le Perche, by service of half a knight’s fee, including lands held in gavelkind, viz. 25a. of John Beuchamp, 15a. of Thomas Passelee, 1 1/2a. of the master of the hospital of Dover, 6a. of the archbishop of Canterbury, 11a. of Thomas de Westbyry, 16a. of Henry le Facouner of Herst, and 4a. of John Tristrem. She died on 7 June. John de Sancto Laurencio, her son, aged 24 years and more, is her heir.
KENT.	Inq. taken at Welle in le Blen, 20 August, 22 Edward III.
	Welle in le Blen. The manor held in gavelkind of divers lords, viz. the prior of Christ Church, Canterbury, the abbot of St. Augustine’s, the earl of Oxeforth, the lady de Ros, and the master of the hospital of Estbrigge, for her life, by the feoffment of John atte Welle, knight, sometime her husband. She died on 7 June. John, son of John de Heye, aged 8 years, is her heir.

LINCOLN.	Inq. taken at Boston on Saturday the feast of St. Nicholas, 22 Edward III.
	Toft by Freston. A messuage, 100a. land, 120a. meadow and 40d. rent held by knight’s service of the heir of Roger de Huntyngfeld, deceased, a minor in the king’s wardship, the custody of whose land and heir the king granted to Ralph de Nevill of Raby, knight; the said Thomas before his death granted the said messuage, lands &c. to John Baret, parson of the church of Boston, for a term of five years from Michaelmas last. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on Sunday before St. Martin in the Winter, 22 Edward III. John Bernak his son, aged 18 years, is his heir.

	Writ after the death of the said Maud, who held in dower certain lands &c. which are held of the king in chief, of the inheritance of John, son and heir of William Carent, a minor in the king’s wardship. 16 April, 22 Edward III.
	Endorsed by the escheator that she had no other lands &c. in Somerset and Dorset than those contained in the following inquisition.
SOMERSET.	Inq. taken at Jevele on Saturday after St. Pancras, 22 Edward III.
	Merssh. A messuage, 23a. land, 1a. meadow, 3a. wood, 2a. pasture and 13s. rent, held in dower of John Talebot by knight’s service. William, son of William de Carente, is her heir, but she never attorned to William the father. Merssh. Three messuages and 30a. land held of the same John, for her life, by the grant (tradicione) of Walter de Romeseye; the reversion of which belongs to the aforesaid William son of William, as heir of Walter Tryl.

	Ampelford. A messuage and two bovates of land held jointly with Margaret his wife, who survives, of the grant of Richard de Pikeryng to them and the heirs of their bodies, with reversion to the said Richard and his heirs, of the heir of William de Roos of Hamelak, a minor in the king’s wardship, by service of a fifty-sixth part of a knight’s fee and by homage. Holme. Three tofts and four bovates of land held jointly as above, of the grant of the same Richard, with like reversion, of John de la Ryvere by knight’s service. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on Wednesday after Michaelmas last. Richard de Pickeryng, his son, aged 19 years and more, is his heir.

	Lydyerd Tregoz. The manor (extent given), including a wood of 40a. called Parkwode and a wood in the forest of Bradene, held for her life, by the demise of William de Grandissono, father of Peter de Grandissono, knight, whose heir he is, by service of a rose yearly. Afterwards the said Peter granted the reversion of the said manor to Roger de Beauchaump and Sibyl his wife and the heirs male of their bodies, with remainder to the said Peter and his heirs. The said manor is held of the king in chief by knight’s service. She died on 4 December, 22 Edward III.

	Totenham. A third part of a third part of the manor held for her life by joint acquisition with the said John, sometime her husband, now long deceased, of the king in chief, by the gift of Richard Spygurnel, to hold for their lives, with successive remainders to their son John and the heirs of his body, Nicholas his brother and the heirs of his body, and the right heirs of the said John de Mockyng, by fine levied in the king’s court at Westminster on the quinzaine of St. John the Baptist, 14 Edward III, and by the king’s charter of licence, granted at the Tower of London 18 May, 14 Edward III. The said John son of John died without heir of his body and the said third part of a third part ought to remain to the said Nicholas, son of the said John and Nicholaa, who still survives. The said third part of a third part is held of the king in chief by service of a ninth part of a knight’s fee. Also two messuages and 80a. land of a third part of the same manor, which third part is in the king’s hand by reason of the death of Lawrence de Hastynges, late earl of Pembroke, held for her life, jointly as above, by fealty and service of 20s. 6d. yearly, of the gift of John de Ekeney, chaplain, and John de Abyngdon to the said John and Nicholaa for their lives, with successive remainders to the said Nicholas their son and the heirs of his body, Thomas, brother of the said Nicholas, and the heirs of his body, Idonia, daughter of the said John and Nicholaa, and the heirs of her body, and the right heirs of the said John de Mockyng. The manors, together with the hamlets of Carteworth, Wolfdale, Skamanden and Warlulley (extent given), including pasture in Sourbyshire and in the park of Hayrkeden, held as follows:—John de Warenna, late earl of Surrey, deceased, who held the premises for life with reversion to the king, gave them by his charter to the said John de Bruosa, and the king confirmed the same gift, and granted also the reversion to the said John de Bruosa and his heirs for ever. The said John was accordingly seised of the premises for two years before his death, and after his death the said earl entered and received the issues until his death; by what warrant, the jurors know not. After the said earl’s death the king granted the premises, with other lands late the earl’s, to Edmund de Langeley, his son, who now holds them. They are held of the king in chief as parcel of the castle and manor of Sandale and of the town of Wakefeld, which castle, manor and town, with their members, together with the castle and manor of Conyngesburgh and its members, are held of the king in chief as of the crown by service of two knights’ fees. He held no other lands &c. in the county. He died on 17 April, 16 Edward III. John de Bruosa, his son, aged 19 years on Sunday before the Annunciation last is his heir.

	Lanteglos by Fawy. The manor held for his life of the Prince by knight’s service, with remainder to Henry de Wylyngton, knight, and his heirs. He died on 13 April last. Reynold de Wylyngton, his uncle, aged 50 years and more, is his heir.

The manor, held of Wolfstan (Wolstano), bishop of Worcester, by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee. Heir as above, aged 70 years. Sandhurst and Polton. The manors held jointly with Eleanor his wife, by the gift and feoffment of Walter de Langeleye and Richard Cros, to the said Ralph and Eleanor and the heirs of the body of the said Ralph, with remainder to Henry de Wilynton and his heirs. The said Ralph died without heir of his body. The manor of Sandhurst is held of Robert Waterford by service of a rose yearly; and the manor of Polton is held of the earl of Warwick by service of a quarter of a knight’s fee. The said Eleanor survives. Yate and Weston Brut. The manors with advowsons of the churches held by the gift and feoffment of the same Walter and Richard to him and the heirs of his body, with remainder to Henry de Wy[lynton]. The manor of Yate with the advowson of the church is held of the aforesaid bishop by service of half a knight’s fee; and the manor of Weston Brut with the advowson of the church is held of Thomas Dagworth and Eleanor his wife, as of the said Eleanor’s right, by service of a fifth part of a knight’s fee. He died without heir of his body on Palm Sunday last.

The manor (extent given), held jointly with John, sometime her husband, by fine levied in the king’s court, to hold to them and the heirs of the said John, of Richard Talibot and Elizabeth his wife, as of the right of the said Elizabeth, one of the heirs of Aymer (Emerici) de Valenciis, earl of Pembroke, by service of a knight’s fee. She held no other lands &c. in the county. She died on Tuesday the feast of SS. Simon and Jude, 22 Edward III. Eleanor, the wife of Edmund Baynard, aged 30 years and more, and Peter, son of William de Cusaunce and Margaret his wife, sister of the said Eleanor, who is aged 19 3/4 years, are the heirs of the said John Bluet and Eleanor his wife.

William son of Whetemann of Alvythele and John Spylecok of Horndon, both aged 30 years and more, are kinsmen and next heirs of the said John, brother of William Breaunzoun. Canewedon and Kryxeth. A marsh called ‘Bernemerssh’ and land called ‘Gedybernlond,’ held, by what title the jurors know not, of the earl of Northampton as of the honour of Reghleye by knight’s service. She held no other lands &c. in the county. She died on 28 October last. Peter de Cusaunce, son of Margaret daughter of the said Eleanor, aged 19 years on the feast of the Purification last, is one of her heirs in blood, and Eleanor, the wife of Edmund Baynard, daughter of the said Eleanor Bluet, aged 30 years and more, is co-heir of the said Peter and another heir in blood of the said Eleanor Bluet.

	Helmerton and Lacham. The manors (extent given), including in Helmerton a custom called ‘Yif’ of 19s. at the feast of St. Michael, 20s. farm of Calnelond, and a fair on the day of St. Laurence, held jointly with the said John, of the grant of William Martel to them and the heirs male of the body of the said John, by fine levied in the king’s court, with remainder to Margaret, daughter of the said John, and the heirs of her body. In the manor of Helmerton is a parcel containing two messuages and 18a. land in Gotacre, which are held of the king in chief, as of the manor of Hamstede Marchal, by knight’s service, and the whole of the residue of the manor is held of the manor of Chepstouwe by knight’s service. In the manor of Lacham is a parcel containing 64a. of assart in the forest of Chippenham, which are held of Philippa, queen of England, by service of 21s. 4d. yearly, and the whole of the residue of the manor is held of the same manor of Chepstowe by knight’s service. Benacre. A messuage, 50a. land and 7a. meadow held jointly with the said John, to them and his heirs, of the prioress of Ambresbury in socage, service not specified. She died on 28 October, 22 Edward III. Peter de Cusance, son of William de Cusance and Margaret his wife, daughter of John Bluet, aged 19 3/4 years, is her heir of the manors of Helmerton and Lacham and of the aforesaid parcels, and also of a moiety of the tenements in Benacre. Eleanor the wife of Edmund Baynard, daughter of the said John and Eleanor, of full age, is her heir of the other moiety of the tenements in Benacre.

ESSEX.	Inq. taken at Reghleye on Monday after St. Dunstan, 23 Edward III.
	Canewedon and Kryxheth in the hundred of Rocheford. The marsh called ‘Bernemerssh’ and land called ‘Gedybernelond’ were held by the said Eleanor of the gift of Robert son of Walter, lord of Wodham, to the said Eleanor and William Breaunzoun, sometime her husband, now long deceased, and the heirs of their bodies, with reversion to the said Robert and his heirs. William died without heir of his body and Eleanor took to husband one John Bluet and the said John and Eleanor took to themselves and the heirs of their bodies another estate in the said marsh and land confirmed in their seisin by the deed of the said Robert. Afterwards the said Robert released to the said John and Eleanor and the heirs begotten between them all his right in the said marsh and land. (fn. 5) Peter de Cusaunce, knight, son of Margaret daughter of the said John and Eleanor, one heir of the said Eleanor, aged 20 years and more, and Eleanor daughter of the said John and Eleanor, co-heir of the said Peter, aged 30 years and more, are heirs of the said Eleanor; and the said marsh and land ought to descend to them by virtue of the abovesaid grant, confirmation and quit-claim. Wynton. A messuage, 24a. land and 2a. meadow, held jointly as above, of the same Isabel by homage and service of 6d. yearly for cornage as above. Askeby. The advowson of the church and 4l. yearly rent issuing from the manor, which manor is held of the same Isabel by homage and service of 11s. 6d. yearly for cornage as above. He died on Monday after the Epiphany last. Christopher his son is his heir and of full age.

	Culgayth. Three parts of the manor (extent given) lately had of the king’s gift, after the forfeiture of Andrew de Harcla, to hold of the king by service of a moiety of a knight’s, fee; the fourth of the said manor held jointly with Margaret his wife, who survives. The whole manor before the aforesaid forfeiture was held of the ancestors of Robert de Nevill of Hornby, who held it of the king in chief by homage and service of 16s. 8d. yearly for cornage, payable at the exchequer of Carlisle. Aynstapillyth. A messuage and 5a. land held jointly as above, of the aforesaid Robert, by fealty only. They are in the hands of a tenant at will, who renders 4s. yearly. Moriceby. The manor (extent given) held of John de Wayburthwayt by fealty and by service of rendering yearly to the canons of Huntingdon 16s. Aykehirst. A messuage and two bovates of land held jointly as above of John de Crofton by fealty only. Gilgarran and Stubscales in Dystington. Two messuages held jointly as above of John de Dystington by fealty. Brakanthwayt. The manor (extent given) held jointly as above of Thomas de Lucy by fealty and suit of the court of Cokermouth every three weeks. He held no other lands &c. in the county. SOMERSET.	Inq. taken at Somerton on Monday after the Exaltation of the Cross, 22 Edward III.
	Puttenye Werne Plukenet and Ilebruere. The manors held jointly with Eleanor his wife, who survives, of the grant of John de Haddon, by fine levied in the king’s court, with the king’ licence, except four messuages and four virgates of land in the said manor of Putteye Werne; the reversion of these manors belongs by the said fine to William Fitz Waryn and Amice his wife and the heirs of their bodies. The manor of Ilebruere is held of the king by service of half a knight’s fee; and the manors of Putteneye Werne Plukenet (sic) are held of the king by service of rendering to him yearly at the exchequer by the hands of the sheriff of Somerset a pair of gilt spurs or 6d. The reversion of the tenements excepted above, viz. three messuages and three virgates of land, which William Marleberge held for his life, and one messuage and one virgate of land, which John Eustace held for his life of the inheritance of the said John de Haddon on the day the fine was levied, viz. a month from Easter Day, 17 Edward III, are included in the fine; these tenements are held of the king as parcel of the said manor of Werne by the aforesaid service of a pair of gilt spurs. He died on Saturday after the Assumption last. Amice his daughter aforesaid, wife of the aforesaid William, aged 25 years and more, is his heir.
DORSET.	Inq. taken at Shyrbourn on Thursday before the Exaltation of the Cross, 22 Edward III.
	Upcerne. The manor and a messuage and a carucate of land, 34a. meadow, 10a. wood and 30s. rent in Caundelhaddone, Cherministre and Yateministre and the advowson of the church of Upcerne held for his life jointly with Eleanor his wife, who survives, of the grant of Thomas de Marleberghe by fine levied in the king’s court. The manor of Upcerne and the advowson are held of Henry de Perci by knight’s service. The aforesaid tenements, except one carucate of land in Candelhaddon, are held of the same Henry by the service aforesaid; the said carucate of land is held of John Mautravers the younger by knight’s service. Caundelhaddon. The manor and a messuage and a carucate of land in Stapelbrigg held jointly as above of the gift of Thomas de Marleberge by fine levied in the court of King Edward II. The said manor is held of the aforesaid John Mautravers by knight’s service; and the tenements in Stapelbrigge are held of the abbot &c. of Shyrbourne by service of rendering 8s. yearly.
