Statutes of the Realm volume 5 now live

Volume 5 (1625-80) is now live. This volume covers all the legislation that passed into law under Charles I and Charles II. It does not include the period of the Interregnum - the Acts and Ordinances of the Interregnum, edited by C.H. Firth and R.S. Rait, will be added to the site in the next 2-3 months. Feet of Fines for Lincolnshire 1244-72

Final concords for Lincolnshire for 1244-1272 are now live. This volume, from the publications of the Lincoln Record Society, complements our existing volumes of fines for Lancashire and Yorkshire. Read all nine volumes at:

Further volumes from VCH Lancashire now live

Volumes 7 and 8 are now live. Between them they cover the northernmost hundreds of the county, including the towns of Preston and Blackburn, and the detached part of the county including Cartmel and Ulverston (now in southern Cumbria). Volumes 5 and 6 will be added in the next few weeks, completing the VCH's coverage of hundreds and parishes for the whole county. Read them all at:

Volumes 5 and 8 are now live. Volume 5 covers East Cuttlestone hundred in the south-west of the county, including the towns of Cannock and Rugeley. Volume 8 describes the major towns of Stoke-on-Trent and Newcastle-under-Lyme. These volumes, along with five others from the VCH series, and our recently added material from the Staffordshire Historical Collections, make up a considerable body of core texts for the history of the county.
