A letter from Mr. Beake, of the 30th of July last, relating to security to be given by Mr. Uring, Deputy Governor of St. Lucia and St. Vincent's, for his observance of the Acts of Trade and Navigation, was read; whereupon ordered that the draught of a bond to be entered into by his securities be prepared, as also a letter writ for inclosing the same to Mr. Lowndes, one of the secretaries of His Majesty's Treasury.

A letter from Mr. Carkesse, secretary to the Commissioners of the Customs, dated the 11th inst., inclosing an extract of one from Mr. Beckford, Comptroller of the Customs at Jamaica, relating to some complaints against him from Sir Nicholas Lawes. was read; and ordered that Mr. Carkesse be acquainted that Sir Nicholas Lawes has transmitted to this Board no complaints against Mr. Beckford, as to any breach of his duty of Comptroller of the Customs.

Mr. Horatio Walpole, Auditor General of the Plantations, coming to the Board, their Lordships took into consideration the two memorials from Mr. Colden to Mr. Burnet, Governor of New York, referred to in his letter of the 30th of November, 1721, and mentioned in the Minutes of the 18th of May last, and resolved to consider further thereof at another opportunity.

A letter from Mr. Beake, of 17th inst., signifying his Grace the Duke of Montagu's desire that the Board accept of Colonel John Lynch to be one of the securities for Captain Uring, in the room of Mr. Joseph Adams, formerly proposed, and who at present is not able to execute the bond by reason of his indisposition, was read; and ordered that a letter be writ to Mr. Lowndes, to desire he would move the Lords of the Treasury, that the said Colonel Lynch be inserted in the draught of a bond transmitted to him the 8th inst.

Ordered that a letter be writ to Mr. Worseley, Governor of Barbados, with the Board's observations upon several Acts of that island, which their Lordships have not thought proper to lay before His Majesty, either for his confirmation or disallowance.
