This list is based on viewers named in extant certificates, together with information from Journals and Repertories. The dates are, for the most part, those of the first and last certificates showing a given set of viewers. There are obvious gaps, because there are periods for which no views have survived. There are also inconsistencies: the election of John Arnold would, according to the certificates, have taken place between 9 March and 10 June 1541, but an entry in the Repertories dates it at 20 February 1541. No record has been found of the election of Stephen Poncheon, although there is a note of his death in connection with the choice of his successor, and no record has been found of the election of Walter Cowper.
