1109. Stephen Cook gave an Information upon Oath against Thomas Smith of Kingsland in the Parish of St. John at Hackney in the County of Middlesex Baker for Exercising his Worldly Business and Employment of a Baker on Sunday the Twenty Seventh Day of January instant in the said Parish of St. John at Hackney And Henry Norris Esq signed a [Notice deleted] Sumons requiring the sd. Thomas Smith to appear before him at his House in Grove Street, Hackney on Thursday the first Day of February next at four of the Clock in the afternoon. [See 1128].
1110. The several Defaulters who have neglected to perform their Statute Work on the Highways within the Parish of St. John at Hackney in the County of Middlesex for the Year 1752 were sumoned to appear here this Day to shew Cause why the Penalty should not be levyed on each of them And those of them who appeared were heard.
1111. Ordered That Samuel Bass and his Wife be removed from this Parish to that of Stoke Newington being the Place of their Settlement And that an Order be made out for that Purpose. [See 1066, 1113].
1113. Henry Norris and John Dekewer Esqs Signed an Order to remove Samuel Bass and [blank] his Wife from the Parish of St: John at Hackney to the Parish of Stoke Newington as the Place of their legal Settlement. [See 1066, 1111].
1114. The said Justices also Signed a Warrant of Distress against the several Defaulters who have neglected to perform their respective Days Labour on the Highways within the Parish of St: John at Hackney in the County of Middlesex. (fn. 1)
1115. Ord. That Notice be given to John Rust, John Everett That they are fixed upon for Surveyors of the Highways for [to appear here on deleted] the Year ensueing. (fn. 2)
1116. The said Justice Norris convicted Hesekiah Kestor on the Oath of Nehemiah Ring for Riding on his Cart in Edmonton Road contrary to the Statute And he paid the Penalty being Ten Shillings. (fn. 3)

1131. James Brasier, at the Ferry, Clopton, Victualler did not attend but sent his Wife who was heard and Thomas Taylor made Oath That the sd. James Brasier [deletion] on Sunday 29th of July had several Company's and many Persons drinking in & about his House Which his Wife confessed and would not promise amendment but persisted that her sd. Husband must do it and could not live without it He [was deleted] is convicted and Ordered to pay 5s. which She paid. [Marginal entry: Convicted & pd. 5s.]
1132. Thomas Stacy brought in Custody of Mathew Eagelsoe, Constable on a Warrant under the Hand & seal of Henry Norris Esq to find Sureties to answer to an Indictment found against him for wilfully malitiously unlawfully & injuriously breaking open the Gate of the Turnpike erected for repairing the road from Shoreditch Church through Hackney &c agt. the form of the Statute and for want of sureties was Committed by the above Justices to Bridewell.
