Sir R. Carr and Hume versus Philips.

Upon hearing of Counsel this Day at the Bar, on both Parts, between Sir Rob't Carr Knight, and Anne Hume Spinster, Plaintiffs (by Petition), and Fabian Phillips Esquire Defendant; it appearing that the Plaintiffs have not tried those Ways for Relief, after which an Appeal to this House should properly lie:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal assembled in Parliament, That the Petitioners be left to bring their Bill of Review in the Court of Chancery, concerning the Matters complained of in their Petition, if they think fit.

Bishop Chichester, Privilege.

Whereas Thomas Chadwell, Prisoner in The Gatehouse Prison at Westm. for speaking very scandalous and opprobrious Words against the Lord Bishop of Chichester, a Member of this House, hath this Day made his humble Submission at the Bar, both to the House and to the Lord Bishop of Chichester, acknowledging his hearty Sorrow for his said Offence, and hath received the Reprehension of the House for the same:

Chadwell released.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, at the special Instance of the Lord Bishop of Chichester on his Behalf, That the said Thomas Chadwell be, and is hereby, discharged from his present Imprisonment, paying his Fees: And this to be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

E. of Carlisle, Privilege. Lydall, his Servant, arrested.

Upon Oath made at the Bar of this House, by John Tayler Gentleman, "That William Lydall, menial Servant to the Earl of Carlile, a Peer of this Realm, was on Friday last arrested, at the Suit of John Coale, by John Browne, One of the Serjeants at Woodstreet Compter, and is still detained Prisoner, notwithstanding that the said John Coale and John Browne did know the said William Lydall to be his Lordship's Servant as aforesaid:"

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Lydall be forthwith set at Liberty from the said Arrest and Imprisonment: And this shall be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

Coale and Browne to be attached.

Upon Oath made at the Bar of this House, by John Tayler Gentleman, "That William Lydall, menial Servant to the Earl of Carlile, a Peer of this Realm was on Friday last arrested, at the Suit of John Coale, by John Browne, One of the Serjeants of Woodstreet Compter, and is still detained, notwithstanding that they the said John Coale and John Browne did know the said William Lydall to be his Lordship's Servant as aforesaid:"

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall forthwith attach the Bodies of the said John Coale and John Browne, and bring them in safe Custody to the Bar of this House: And this shall be a sufficient Warrant in that Behalf.

Message from H. C. with Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Vincent Churchill and others; who brought up Two Bills, which have passed the House of Commons, wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired:

1. "An Act for settling the Estate of Sir Robert Carr Baronet."

2. "An Act for Sale of certain Lands in the County of Lyncolne, for Payment of the Debts of Christopher Beresford Esquire deceased."

ORDERED, That the Lord Viscount de Stafford is added to the Committee for the Bill concerning the Corporation of Pin-makers.

Dutchy of Cornwall Bill.

ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill concerning the Dutchy of Cornwall do meet on Saturday Morning, at Nine of the Clock.

Sir R. Carr's Bill.

ORDERED, That Sir Rob't Carr's Bill be read the First Business To-morrow Morning.

E. of Berks versus Depremont.

ORDERED, That the Earl of Berks' Witnesses shall be heard at this Bar To-morrow Morning.

ORDERED, That the Lord Viscount Mordant is added to the Committee for the Bill concerning the Dutchy of Cornwall.
