The Committee for the Bill concerning Jurors are to sit this Afternoon.

Bill against burning Houses, &c.

The Earl of Anglesey reported the Bill to prevent burning of Houses, &c. with some Amendments; which being read Twice, and having some Debate thereupon, it is ORDERED, The said Bill be re-committed, and further considered of: The Committee is to meet this Afternoon, at Three of the Clock; and the Lord Viscount Hallyfax is added to that Committee.

The Messengers return with this Answer:

That the House of Commons agrees to give a Conference, as is desired.

Heads for the Conference on the Bill against Conventicles.

The same Lords as were appointed formerly to report the Conference concerning the Bill against Conventicles are now appointed to manage this Conference; and to shew wherein this House agrees, and wherein it not agrees, and to fortify their Lordships Resolutions with such Reasons as were mentioned in the Debate; and to let them know, "That concerning the conditional Clause of the House of Commons, urged at the last Conference, their Lordships conceive the same is not according to the ancient and usual Proceedings of Parliament; and to desire hereafter their Amendments may be absolute, and not conditional."

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.

Bill for Sale of Fee-farm Rents:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for advancing the Sale of Fee-farm Rents, and other Rents."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, now read, shall pass?"

The Earl of Dover reported the Bill for making Shadwell Church Parochial, as fit to pass, with an Addition of a Proviso; which, being read Twice, was Agreed to.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for Endowment of the Church at Shadwell, now in the Parish of Stepney, in Middlesex, and making of it Parochial, distinct from Stepney."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Proviso now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Perkins' Bill.

The Lord Eure reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill to enable Henry and Jane Perkins to ensure Lands to Dr. Wharton, and do think it fit to pass as it is."

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable Henry and Jane Perkins to ensure to Dr. Wharton Lands purchased in the County Palatine of Durham."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill now read shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with Shadwell Church Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir John Coell and Mr. Halsey:

To return them the Bill for endowing the Church at Shadwell, and making it a Parochial Church; to which their Lordships do agree, with a Proviso they have added; to which Proviso the Concurrence of the House of Commons is desired.

Ld. Lovelace's Petition.

A Petition of the Lord Lovelace was delivered into the House, and ordered to be read To-morrow Morning, the First Business.

Imposition on Brandy Bill.

The House took into Consideration what was said at this Bar the 31th of March last, by the Counsel of the Merchants Importers of Brandy, upon their Petition presented to this House against the Bill for setting an Imposition upon Brandy; and also the Counsel of the Farmers of Excise, in Maintenance of the said Bill.

And, after Debate thereof, it is ORDERED, That this House will resume the further Debate of this Business To-morrow Morning.

Message from H. C. for a Conference on the Bill against Conventicles.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Cheyne and others:

To desire a Free Conference, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference, concerning the Amendments in the Bill against Conventicles.

The Answer returned was:

That this House will give a present Free Conference, in the Painted Chamber, upon the Subject-matter, as is desired.

The same Lords as managed the last Conference are appointed to report this Free Conference.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Free Conference; which being ended, the House was resumed.
