Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Sawyer and others; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the speedy Relief of Prisoners detained for Criminal Matters;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

St. Leger versus Darcy.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Anthony St. Leger Knight, Grandfather and Guardian of the Children of the late Lord Lexington, and One of his Executors and Trustees, complaining of the taking away of Bridget Sutton, the now only Daughter of the said Lord Lexington, by the Contrivance of Conyers Darcy Esquire and Mr. John Darcy his Son, as in the said Petition is alledged:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That it be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to examine the said Matter of Fact, and report to the House, what they think fit to be done thereupon.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Anthony St. Leger Knight, Grandfather and Guardian of the Children of the the late Lord Lexington, and One of his Executors and Trustees, complaining of the taking away of Bridget Sutton, the now only Daughter of the said Lord Lexington, by the Contrivance of Conyers Darcy Esquire and Mr. John Darcy his Son, who give out in Speeches, that they intend to send her beyond the Seas, as in the said Petition is alledged:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Darcy, and the said Bridget Sutton and the Maid Servant attending her, and William Baldwin Clerk, who had a Hand in the Contrivance of her being taken away, be, and are every of them hereby, strictly prohibited from departing this Kingdom; and that all Persons whatsoever are hereby prohibited from having a Hand in conveying any of the said Persons out of this Kingdom, as they will answer the contrary to this House.

Governors of Christ's Hospital versus Cholmleys.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause upon the Petition of the Governors of Christ's Hospitall, and the Answer and Plea of Margaret and Elizabeth Cholmeleys, depending in this House, which was to be heard To-morrow Morning, be, and is hereby, appointed to be heard by Counsel, at the Bar, on both Parts, on Thursday the Fifth Day of March next, at Three of the Clock in the Afternoon; whereof both the said Parties are hereby to take Notice, and attend accordingly.

Ld. Campden versus Puleiton & al. Privilege, for dispossessing his Tenants in Abinbury, &c.

Whereas John Puleston Gentleman, Owen Thelwall Esquire, Edward Hughes, John Rogers, and Thomas Francis, were, by Order of this House, dated the 13th of January last, summoned to appear at the Bar within Fourteen Days after Notice given them, to answer to the Complaint of the Lord Viscount Campden, a Peer of this Realm, for their illegal and riotous dispossessing his Lordship's Servants and Tenants of the Tithes and Tenths of Corn, and other Tithes, belonging to him, in the Townships of Abinbury Vaux, and other Places, as in the Petition of the said Viscount Campden is set forth; which said John Puliston, Owen Thelwall, Edward Hughs, John Rogers, and Thomas Francis, have not appeared, though they were served with the said Order in January last, as by the Oath of Edward Harding and Jonas Randall made this Day at the Bar doth appear:

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, or his Deputy, shall forthwith attach the Bodies of the said John Puliston, Owen Thelwall, Edward Hughes, John Rogers, and Thomas Francis, and bring them in safe Custody to the Bar of this House, to answer for their said Offences, and Contempts of the Order of this House; and this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

Darrel versus Whitchcott.

The House this Day entering into Debate of what hath been offered, by Counsel, at the Bar, on both Parts, upon the Petition and Appeal of Marmaduke Darrell Esquire, and the Answer of Sir Jeremy Whitchcott Baronet, depending in this House, concerning One Fifth Part of a Farm of the Impost or Duty arising out of the Sea Coals at Newcastle upon Tyne, which Fifth Part the said Sir Jeremy Whitchcot pretends a Title to, as in the said Petition is set forth:

After due Consideration had thereof, it is Resolved, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Marmaduke Darrell shall have Relief out of the said Sir Jeremy Whitchcott's Part in the said Farm.

Ireland, for securing.

ORDERED, That To-morrow Morning the House shall be put into a Committee, to proceed in the Consideration of the securing the Kingdom of Ireland.
