The Addition of Names added by the House of Commons to the Bill for Naturalization of Peter Renue and others, was read Twice, and Agreed to.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Adam Browne and others; who brought up a Bill, passed by the House of Commons, intituled, "An Act for erecting a Judicature to determine Differences touching Houses burnt and demolished by the late dreadful Fire in Southwarke;" to which their Lordships Concurrence is desired.

Ly. Mary Mordant's Bill.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable the Right Honourable the Lady Mary Mordant to make Sale of her Interest in the Manor of Blechingley, and divers Lands in the County of Surrey, notwithstanding her Minority."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edward Low and Sir Miles Cooke:

To deliver to them the Bill to enable the Lady Mary Mordant to sell Lands, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Also to signify, that the Lords agree to the Names added by them in the Bill for Naturalization of Peter Renue and others.

Cobham House Bill.

Hodie 1 vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable Trustees to raise Money upon Cobham House and Parke."

Unlicensed Books to suppress Bill.

The Earl of Aylesbury reported the Bill for preventing the Printing of unlicensed Books, as fit to be engrossed, with some Amendments; which are offered to the Consideration of the House.

The Amendments were read Twice, and Agreed; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Bill for better Observation of the Sabbath.

The House was adjourned into a Committee, to proceed in Consideration of the Bill for the better Observation of the Lord's-day.

The House was resumed.

The Lord Viscount Newport reported, "That the Committee have gone through the Bill for the better Observation of the Lord's-day, wherein they have made some Amendments, which are offered to the Consideration of the House."

Which Amendments, being read Twice, were Agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the Amendments.

Upon reading the humble Petition of the Six Under Marshals belonging to His Majesty's Household; shewing, "That, in the last Session of Parliament, this House was pleased to recommend their Petition (then presented to this House) to the Lord High Treasurer of England, to move His Majesty for an Allowance of Forty Pounds a Session to them, for their Service in constant Attendance at the Doors of this Most Honourable House in the Six last Sessions then past, to prevent Disorders about this House; but, in regard some of the said Six Sessions were before the Time of the present Lord High Treasurer, they have not received any Benefit by the said Recommendation; and therefore pray, That this House would be pleased so effectually to recommend their said Service to His Majesty, by the Right Honourable the Earl of Danby Lord High Treasurer of England, that they may receive the said Allowance of Forty Pounds per Session for the said Six last Sessions, and the Session now in Being:"

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Lord High Treasurer be, and is hereby, desired so to recommend to His Majesty the said Service of the said Six Under Marshals, that they may (by His Majesty's gracious Order) receive the said Allowance of Forty Pounds per Session amongst them for the said Six Sessions past, and the Session now in Being (according to their former Allowance for the said Service), if His Majesty shall think it fit.

Adjourn.

Baptizing Children Bill.

The House was put into a Committee, to consider of the Bill for obliging Persons to baptize their Children.

The House was resumed.

The Lord Bishop of Sarum reported, "That the Committee have been in Consideration of this Bill; but, to make it the more effectual, the Committee have thought it fit to refer it to all the Bishops now present, taking to their Assistance the Lord Bishop of London and the Lord Bishop of Rochester (now absent), and the Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, to word the several Clauses debated in the Committee, and so prepare it for the Committee against their next Meeting.

Which the House agreed to, and ordered the same accordingly.
