Highways Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, "An additional Act to prevent the spoiling of all Highways by Waggons and Carts."

ORDERED, That this Bill is committed to the same Committee as the Bill concerning Servants is; and the same Judges are to assist in the Consideration of this Bill.

Residence and Pluralities Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the better regulating the Residence of Ecclesiastical Persons, and Pluralities of Benefices."

Brend's Bill.

The Lord Viscount Stafford reported, "That the Committee have considered the Bill to enable Francis Brend Esquire to sell Lands; and, after hearing all Parties therein concerned, the Committee have made some Amendments therein."

The said Amendments, being read Twice, were Agreed to.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable Francis Brend Esquire, the surviving Son and Issue Male of Sir Mathew Brend Knight, deceased, to sell certain Lands, for the raising of Three Thousand Pounds, for the Portions of Frances and Elizabeth Brend, the Daughters of Thomas Brend Esquire, deceased, late Elder Brother of the said Francis Brend."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Samuell Clerke and Sir William Childe:

To return the Bill concerning Francis Brend; and to acquaint them, that the Lords have passed the said Bill, with some few Amendments; and desire their Concurrence to the said Amendments.

Marshal of The King's Bench, and Warden of The Fleet, Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for regulating the Offices of the Marshal of The Marshalsea of the Court of King's Bench and the Warden of The Fleete, and for giving better Remedy against them in Case of Escape, or other Misdemeanors in their Offices."

Poll Bill, and to prohibit French Commodities.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for raising Money, by Poll and otherwise, to enable His Majesty to enter into an actual War against the French King, and prohibiting several French Commodities."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments now read, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with the Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by the Lord Chief Baron and Baron Thurland:

To return the Bill for raising Money by the Poll; and to let them know, that this House agrees to the said Bill, with some Amendments; to which the Lords desire their Concurrence.

ORDERED, That the Petition and Appeal of Henry Neilder shall be read To-morrow Morning.

Neale versus Regem, in Error.

Upon reading the Petition of Richard Neale Gentleman, Plaintiff, in a Writ of Error depending in this House, whereto the King's Majesty is made Defendant; upon which Errors are assigned by the said Richard Neale, and Issue is joined by His Majesty's Attorney General on His Majesty's Behalf; praying, that a Day may be appointed to hear the said Errors argued:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear Counsel for the said Richard Neale, to argue the said Errors at the Bar, as also Counsel on His Majesty's Behalf, on Friday next, being the 15th Instant, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the said Richard Neale is to cause timely Notice to be given to His Majesty's Attorney General for that Purpose.

Husbands, a Hab. Corp. to attend the Committee for the Bill for Discharge of Prisoners for Debt.

ORDERED, That His Majesty's Writ of Habeas Corpus be issued to the Marshal of The King's Bench Prison, for bringing the Body of Thomas Husbands, now a Prisoner in his Custody under Execution, before the Lords Committees for the Bill for Discharge of Persons in Prison for Debt before the Second Day of February 1677, on Friday the 15th Day of this Instant March, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Lord Privy Seal's Lodgings near the House of Peers.
