Amendments to the Declaration for the P. and Pss. of Orange to be King and Queen.

The Matter of the Conference brought Yesterday from the House of Commons was taken into Consideration.

The Papers were read throughout; and then the Paragraphs were read and considered.

And when they came to this Clause, ["by raising and keeping a Standing Army within this Kingdom, in Time of Peace, without Consent of Parliament:"]

The Question was put, "Whether this Paragraph shall pass, with the Addition of these Words, ["and quartering Soldiers contrary to Law"]?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

And after further Consideration and Debate of this Paragraph following;

"The said and Com-1 mons assembled at Westm. do resolve, That the Prince 2 and Princess of Orange be, and be declared, King and Queen of England, France, and Ireland, and the Dominions thereunto belonging; to hold the Crown and Royal Dignity of the said Kingdoms and Dominions, to them the said Prince and Princess, during their Lives, and the Life of the Survivor of them; and that the Administration of the Government be 7 only in, and executed by, the said Prince of Orange, in the Name of the said Prince and Princess, during their joint Lives; and after their Deceases, the said Crown and Royal Dignity of the said Kingdoms and Dominions to be to the Heirs of the Body of the said Princess; and for Default of such Issue, to the Princess Anne of Denmarke, and the Heirs of Her Body; and for Default of such Issue, to the Heirs of the Body of the said Prince of Orange."

2 Line. And instead of ["the"] read ["William and Mary."]

7 Line. Instead of ["for Administration of the Government"] read ["sole and full Exercise of the Regal Power."]

Then this Question was put, "Whether to agree with the House of Commons in this Paragraph, thus amended?"

And it was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Leave was given to any Lords to enter their Dissents.

Heads to be drawn for a Conference concerning the Lords Amendments.

The House agreed to communicate the Amendments made to these Papers, at a Conference with the House of Commons, on Monday Morning next.

And these Lords were appointed to draw up Reasons, to be offered at that Conference, to fortify their Lordships Amendments; and the said Committee to meet on Monday Morning, at Eight of the Clock, in the Prince's Lodgings.
