Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to vest in Their Majesties the Lands and Estate belonging to the late Queen Mary, or to any other Person in Trust for Her."

Bill to enforce the Poor Laws.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the better explaining and making effectual the Statutes made for the Relief of the Poor."

King's going into Scotland and Ireland.

A Debate arising, upon a Peer's acquainting this House, "That there is a Report abroad, of His Majesty's Preparations for going into Scotland and Ireland:"

After Debate, this Question was proposed:

"Whether an humble Address should be presented to His Majesty, by some Lords of this House, That this House having under their Consideration the Report of Their Majesties going into Scotland and Ireland, do humbly address to His Majesty, that His Majesty will be pleased to defer the taking any Resolution of going into Scotland or Ireland until this House, upon mature Debate, with all convenient Speed, shall humbly offer their Advice, with all Duty and Tenderness to His Majesty's Person, and the Safety of the Government?"

Then this previous Question was put, "Whether this Question shall be now put?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Debate of His Majesty's going into Scotland and Ireland shall be adjourned unto Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Dame Mary Vincent is Plaintiff, and Martha Parker Defendant:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday the 5th Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Gostick versus Ashbolt.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Sir William Gostick is Plaintiff, and John Ashbolt Defendant:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Thursday the Sixth Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon; whereof the Plaintiff is to cause timely Notice to be given to the Defendant, to the End he attend with his Counsel accordingly.

Sir Cæsar Wood, alias Cranmer, versus D. South'ton.

Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing the Cause wherein Sir Cæsar Wood, alias Cranmer, is Plaintiff, and his Grace the Duke of South'ton Defendant:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Friday the Seventh Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

It is thereupon ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That it be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, to consider of the said Lists, and to send for and examine any Persons as they shall think fit; and to report their Opinions what is fit to be done thereupon to this House.
