Hartstongue versus Lloyd.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Standish Hartstongue; praying a Day may be appointed for hearing his Cause depending in this House, whereunto Lewis Lloyd is Respondent:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Tuesday the Second Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

L. Ferrers & al. versus Ly. Ferrers & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of the Honourable Robert Shirley Esquire, and Anne his Wife, Grandchild and Heir of John Ferrers Esquire, deceased, against an Order in the High Court of Chancery lately made, in a Cause there depending, between the said Appellants and the Right Honourable Robert Lord Ferrers Plaintiffs, against Dame Elizabeth Ferrers, Nicholas Parker, Lettice Stanhope, and Anne Stanhope, Defendants, upon a Re-hearing of the said Cause, on the Petition of the said Defendants, the Seventeenth of November Instant; the Petitioners humbly conceiving the said Order to be erroneous, that therefore the Respondents may answer to this Petition and Appeal.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Dame Elizabeth Ferrers, Nicholas Parker, Lettice Stanhope, and Anne Stanhope, shall have a Copy of the said Appeal delivered to their Clerk in Chancery on their Behalfs; and they be, and are hereby, required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Wednesday the 26th Day of this Instant November, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon: And it is further ORDERED, That the Service of this Order upon the Respondents said Clerk in Chancery shall be a sufficient Notice, in order to the answering hereunto.

Clarke versus Baden.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, wherein Edmond Clarke is Appellant, and Rob't Baden Respondent, on Tuesday 25th Day of this Instant November, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Orphans of London, Judicature for Relief of, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for erecting a Judicature for the Relief of the distressed Orphans of the City of London."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill be, and is hereby, referred to these Lords following; whose Lordships, having considered thereof, and heard the Lord Mayor and Court of Aldermen of the City of London, and taken Care that a Clause be added to the Bill, that all Contracts for Compositions with any of the Orphans be made void, and made such other Alterations and Amendments therein as they shall think fit, are afterwards to report to the House:

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Monday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Sir T. Putt's Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act to enable the Executors and Trustees of Sir Thomas Putt Baronet, deceased, to lease several Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, during the Minority of Sir Thomas (fn. 1) Putt Baronet, Son and Heir of the said Sir Thomas Putt, towards the Payment of Five Hundred Pounds apiece Legacies to his Three Sisters, Margarett, Ursula, and Susannah Putt; as also the Debts of the said Sir Thomas Putt the Father."

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Solicitor and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for doubling the Duty of Excise upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, during the Space of One Year;" to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read To-morrow Morning, the First Business.

Chancery, &c. to reform Abuses in, Bill.

The House was put into a Committee, to proceed on the Bill, intituled, "An Act for regulating divers Abuses in the Court of Chancery, and other Courts of Equity."

The House was resumed.

And the Earl of Fauconberge reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Bill; and desired that To-morrow might be appointed for the House to be put into a Committee again thereupon."

ORDERED, That the House shall be put into a Committee again To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, to proceed further upon the said Bill.

Daniel versus Leigh.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause wherein John Daniell is Appellant, and William Leigh Respondent, on Wednesday the 3d Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Foden versus Farrington.

ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause wherein Edw. Foden is Plaintiff, and Jn° Farrington Defendant, on Friday the 5th Day of December next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
