Tonnage Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to Their Majesties certain Rates and Duties upon Tonnage of Ships or Vessels, and upon Beer, Ale, and other Liquors, for securing certain Recompenses and Advantages in the said Act mentioned to such Persons as shall voluntarily advance the Sum of Fifteen Hundred Thousand Pounds, towards carrying on the War against France."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Protest against the Part which incorporates the Company of the Bank:

"Dissentientibus,

"Against that Part of the Bill which relates to the incorporating the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, and the Clauses that concern the same:

"Ailesbury.
Sandwich.
Nottingham.
inchilsea.
Essex.
Montagu.
Rochester.
Tho. Roffen."

Message to H. C. that the Lords agree to the Bill.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Holford and Mr. Pitts:

To let the Commons know, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Paper, Vellum, &c. Duties on, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to Their Majesties several Duties upon Vellum, Parchment, and Paper, for Four Years, towards carrying on the War against France."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

And, after some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Godolphin reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Hackney coaches, &c. Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the licensing and regulating Hackney Coaches and Stage Coaches."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

And, after some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Godolphin reported, "That the Committee had considered the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Better Discipline of the Navy, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better Discipline of Their Majesties Navy Royal."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

The House was resumed.

And the Lord Cornwallis reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Adjourn.
