Hayes versus Otterington.

Upon reading the Petition of John Hayes Esquire; shewing, "That John Otterington, of Dublin, Gentleman, hath brought an Appeal into this House, to which he hath answered; and that the Appeal being brought for Delay, and praying that a short Day may be appointed for hearing thereof:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Thursday the Nineteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Wollaston's Bill.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming the Sale of certain Wood-lands in the County of South'ton, and certain Articles of Agreement made between Isaac Woollaston and Richard Woollaston Esquires," with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Warden of The Fleet, for selling the Office of, to pay Debts, Bill.

This Day the House heard Counsel upon the Petition of Colonel Baldwin Leighton, against the Bill for Sale of the Office of The Fleete; as also Counsel for the said Bill.

And, after Consideration of what was offered by Counsel thereupon,

Leighton heard against it.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Sale of the Office of The Fleete, and Mansionhouse where the said Office is now kept, and Thirteen Houses adjoining, and the Office of the Custody of the Palaces at Westminster, and the Shops in Westminster Hall to the said Office belonging, for the Payment of Debts."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of this Bill be committed to the Lords following:

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet on Tuesday next, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Indemnity Bill, for Persons who acted in Their Majesties Service.

The Earl of Bridgewater reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Alexander Popham Esquire to settle a Jointure upon his Wife, and to make Provision for Younger Children, upon Receipt of Twelve Thousand Pounds Portion, to be applied for Payment of his Debts," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Then, Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Alexander Popham Esquire to settle a Jointure upon his Wife, and to make Provision for Younger Children, upon Receipt of Twelve Thousand Pounds Portion, to be applied for Payment of his Debts," with the Amendments.

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass, with the Amendments?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Province of York, Inhabitants of, to dispose of their Personals by Will, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act, that the Inhabitants of the Province of Yorke may dispose of their Personal Estates by their Wills, notwithstanding the Custom of that Province."

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Humphry Nicoll Esquire, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Eleventh Day of February last, on the Behalf of John Keigwins; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree, and his Bill dismissed:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Keigwins may have a Copy of the said Petition; and shall be, and is hereby, required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Saturday the Eight and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.
