Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more speedy and easy Recovery of Small Tithes."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass, with the Amendments?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. to return it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir Lacon William Child:

To return the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence to the Amendments.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to vest certain Lands of William Molyneux Gentleman in Trustees, for raising the Sum of Two Thousand Pounds, for paying the Portions to his Younger Brother and Sisters, pursuant to a Decree in the Court of Chancery;" to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of the Estate of John Cripps Gentleman, in the County of Kent; and for settling another Estate, of greater Value, in Lieu thereof, to the same Uses;" to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

Tooke versus L. C. Baron Atkins.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Cause wherein Thomas Tooke is Appellant, and the Lord Chief Baron Atkins Respondent, shall be heard on Monday next.

Birmingham School Bill:

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating and settling the Free School of Birmingham, in the County of Warwick, and the Revenues thereof."

Then the House was moved, for rejecting the said Bill.

After Debate;

This Question was put, "Whether Counsel shall be heard, at the Bar, touching this Bill, before the Second Reading?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the old Governors of the said School may have a Copy of the Bill; and that they shall be heard; by their Counsel, at the Bar, touching the said Bill, as aso Counsel for the Bill; on Wednesday the Tenth Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Jones versus Beaw.

Upon reading the Petition of Doctor John Jones, Defendant to the Petition and Appeal of William Beaw; praying a Day may be appointed for hearing of the said Cause:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel on both Sides, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Seventeenth Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Trials for Treason, Bill.

The House being informed, "That the Commons were come to the Free Conference," the former Managers Names were read.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference.

Which being ended, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Mulgrave reported, "That the Commons have sent Word, that they adhere to their Disagreement to the Lords, to the Clause marked (A), sent down by their Lordships as an Amendment to the Bill for regulating Trials in Cases of Treason."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Report made this Day from the Free Conference shall be considered Tomorrow, at Twelve of the Clock; and that all the Lords be summoned.

Under-sheriff of Westmorland, Indemnity for discharging Persons protected by L. Morley.

The House being informed, "That the Earl of Thannet's Under-sheriff for the County of Westmerland hath discharged some Persons, upon the Lord Morley & Mounteagle's Protection; and that the Under-sheriff prays the House may consider of his Case, he being liable to be sued for an Escape, the Person discharged not being the Lord Morley's Servant, pursuant to the Rules of this House:"

After hearing the Lord Chief Justice Holt in this Case, it is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Debate of this Business shall be adjourned to Monday next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Dutchess of Richmond against the Alnage Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing Counsel for her Grace the Dutchess of Richmond and others, and Their Majesties Counsel, for and against the Bill, intituled, "An Act for transferring the Collection of the Duties of Alnage to the Custom-house, and for giving a Recompense to the Crown for the same:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Counsel on Tuesday the Second Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Report of the Ballot for Commissioners for examining Public Accompts.

The Lord Cornwallis reported from the Committee for taking Account of the Ballots in the Glass, "That the greatest Number is fallen on

The House moved, "That the Four beforementioned Commissioners be added, as an Amendment, to the Bill, intituled, "An additional Act for appointing and enabling Commissioners to examine, take, and state, the Public Accompts of the Kingdom."

Then the House moved, "To re-commit the Bill; and that One Clause in the Sixth Press may be amended, in order to explain that Clause."

After Debate,

This Question was put, "Whether the Clause that hath been read shall be amended, in order to the Explanation of it?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

ORDERED, That the Bill shall be read the Third Time To-morrow.

Sutton versus Slaughter.

Whereas this Day was appointed for hearing the Cause wherein William Sutton is Plaintiff, Paris Slaughter and Edw'd Highmore are Defendants:

Sir R. Rudd & al. versus Bp. of St. David's.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Rice Rudd, John Lewis, John Vaughan, William Bridstock, S. Powell, and William Williams, on the Behalf of their Country; praying Leave to prosecute the Lord Bishop of St. David's, for Crimes, Misdemeanors, and Offences, by him committed:
