The Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas sat Speaker.

Sir C. Wood, alias Cranmer, versus Webb.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Sir Cesar Wood, alias Cranmer, Knight, from a Decree of the Court of Chancery, made the Seventeenth of December, One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-five, in a Cause wherein Thomas Webb is Complainant, against the said Sir Cesar Wood, alias Cranmer, Defendant, and praying that the said Decree may be reversed:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Thomas Webb may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Tuesday the Eighteenth Day of this Instant February, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Land Tax Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to His Majesty an Aid of Four Shillings in the Pound, for One Year, for carrying on the War against France."

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be read the Second Time To-morrow Morning, before the Cause.

E. I. Trade.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee, to consider further of the East India Trade.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Matter to them referred; and desire another Day may be appointed, for the Committee to proceed therein."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That To-morrow, at Twelve of the Clock, this House shall be put into a Committee, to proceed further upon the Consideration of the East India Trade.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the East India Company send to this House their Charter To-morrow, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.
