Edward Russell Esquire, being, by Letters Patents dated the Seventh Day of May last, created Earl of Orford, was, in his Robes, introduced, between the Lord Chamberlain and Earl of Bradford, also in their Robes; and preceded by the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, Garter King at Arms, the Lord Great Chamberlain of England, and Earl Marshal of England: His Lordship presented his Patent to the Speaker, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who delivered it to the Clerk: And being read at the Table, as also his Writ of Summons, bearing Date, 1° Die Decembris, Nono Gul. Tertii:

His Lordship took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes; and was accordingly placed on the Earls Bench.

L. Craven introduced.

In like Manner, William Lord Craven, claiming by virtue of a Remainder limited to Sir William Craven his Father, by Letters Patent, dated at Oxford, 11° Decembris, 17° Car. 11di, was, in his Robes, introduced, between the Lord Culpeper and the Lord Jeffreys (also in their Robes); and preceded by the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod, Garter King at Arms, Lord Great Chamberlain, and Earl Marshal of England: His Lordship presented his Patent to the Speaker, on his Knee, who delivered it to the Clerk: And being read at the Table, as also his Writ of Summons, bearing Date 1° Decembris, Nono Gulielmi Tertii:

His Lordship took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes; and was accordingly placed on the Barons Bench.

Address.

The Lord Ferrers reported from the Lords Committees, an Address to be presented to His Majesty.

Which, being read, was agreed to, as follows:

"We, Your Majesty's most dutiful and loyal Subjects, the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, do, with unspeakable Joy, congratulate Your Majesty's happy Return, accompanied with the Blessings of a safe and honourable Peace, which, next under GOD, we are sensible is owing to Your Majesty's Courage and Conduct.

"After the Hazards and Labours You have so long sustained for the Good of Europe, there wanted nothing but this to compleat the Glory of Your Reign; and we beg Leave humbly to assure Your Majesty, that we shall never be wanting in our Endeavours to assist Your Majesty, in maintaining that Quiet which You have so gloriously restored to these Your Kingdoms, and in contributing all we can to the Safety of Your Person, the securing the Peace and Prosperity of Your Government."

ORDERED, That the Lords with White Staves do attend His Majesty, humbly to know what Time He will please to appoint for this House to attend Him with their Address.
