The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming and establishing the Administration of the Goods and Chattels of Sir William Godolphin Knight deceased," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which being read Twice, were agreed to.

Sheriffs Accompts, and Execution of their Office, Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more easy passing Sheriffs Accompts, and Execution of their Offices."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Second Time this Day Fortnight.

Whitburne to the Bishopric of Hereford, Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to annex the Rectory of Whitburne, in Herefordshire, to the Bishopric of Hereford."

Fauquier & al. Nat. Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the Naturalization of John Francis Fauquier, Joseph Du Casse, and others."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet Tomorrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

The Lord Audley reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Lease granted by the Lord Bishop of Winchester, of a Parcel of Waste Ground in Alverstoke, in the County of Southampton, for the erecting of Water-works there, and for improving the same," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

ORDERED, That the said Bill shall be engrossed.

Sayer versus Colchester Chanel, Bill.

Upon reading the Petition of Gyles Sayer; praying to be heard, by his Counsel, before the Second Reading of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for cleansing and making navigable the Channel from The Heith at Colchester to Wivenhoo:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioner shall be heard, by his Counsel, as desired, on Monday the Eleventh Day of April next, at Eleven of the Clock.

E. North'ton, Privilege, versus Wilson & al. for fishing in The Neine, within his Manor.

Upon reading the Petition of Joseph Wilson Clerk, George Palmer, Francis Wells, Robert Granborough, William Whitworth, and John Pettit; shewing, "That they are now in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for a Breach of Privilege against the Earl of Northampton; and praying to be heard, to shew they have enjoyed the Fishing in Question for several Years:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges; who are to meet on Monday the Eighteenth Day of April next, at Eleven of the Clock; and hear the Petitioners by their Counsel, as also Counsel for the Earl of North'ton.

E. of Rochford's Privilege versus L. Mountgomery.

After hearing Counsel upon the Petition of the Earl of Rochford, claiming Privilege of Parliament; as also Counsel on the Behalf of William Herbert Esquire, commonly called Lord Montgomery; and Debate thereupon:

The Earl of Rochford declared, "He was willing to waive his Privilege in this Case, and withdraw his Petition."

To which the House agreed.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir John Phillips and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual suppressing of Blasphemy and Profaneness;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Law Suits, to restrain the Length and Expence of, Bill.

The House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee on the Bill, intituled, "An Act to restrain the Expence and Length of Suits in the Courts of Law and Equity."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Rochester reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Bill; and desire another Time may be appointed, for them to proceed."

ORDERED, That the House shall be put into a Committee again To-morrow Morning, to proceed on the said Bill.
