Tonnage and Poundage, Bill, for the Expences of the King's Civil List.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to His Majesty a further Subsidy of Tonnage and Poundage, towards raising the Yearly Sum of Seven Hundred Thousand Pounds, for the Service of His Majesty's Household, and other Uses therein mentioned, during His Majesty's Life."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Stampt Vellum, &c. Duties on, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to His Majesty, His Heirs and Successors, further Duties upon Stampt Vellum, Parchment, and Paper."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Bridgewater reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Militia Bill.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for raising the Militia for the Year One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight, although the Month's Pay formerly advanced be not re-paid."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read the Second Time on Thursday next.

The Messengers sent to the House of Commons on Friday last return Answer:

That the Commons will give a Conference, as desired.

Managers for the Conference on the Bp. of Winchester's Bill for Alverstoke Waterworks.

Whereupon these Lords following were named Managers of the Conference:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for settling and adjusting the Proportions of fine Silver and Silk, for the better making of Silver and Gold Thread, and to prevent the Abuses of the Wire-drawers;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Also a Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Jeffreys and others:

Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act for enlarging the Time for registering of Ships, pursuant to the Act for preventing Frauds and regulating Abuses in the Plantation Trade;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Also a Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Yates and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Peter Garon and others;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to their Lordships Amendments made therein.

Message from thence; for a Free Conference about a Place for the Trials of Goudet & al.

Also a Message from the House of Commons, by Sir Rowland Gwyn and others:

To desire a Free Conference, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference, had the Sixteenth Instant.

To which the House agreed.

Answer:

Then the Commons were called in; and told, "That the Lords agree to a Free Conference, as desired; and appoint it to be To-morrow, at One a Clock, in the Painted Chamber."

Committee to prepare Heads for it.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lords who are appointed to manage the Free Conference To-morrow, with the House of Commons, do meet To-morrow, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers, to consider of what they will offer at the said Free Conference.

Ordnance, for applying Surplus Money to, Bill.

The Earl of Stamford reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for applying to the Use of His Majesty's Navy and Ordnance the Overplus of the Money and Stores which were provided for the building Seven and Twenty Ships of War," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Embezzlement of Stores, and Frauds in Seamens Wages, to prevent, Bill.

The Earl of Stamford also reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing the Embezzlement of His Majesty's Stores of War, and preventing Cheats, Frauds, and Abuses, in paying Seamens Wages," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Reneu & al. Nat. Bill.

The Earl of Stamford also reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Hillary Reneu and others," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Half-pence &c. to stop the coining of, Bill.

The Earl of Manchester reported from the Committee, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to stop the coining of Half-pence and Farthings, for One Year," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to stop the coming of Half-pence and Farthings, for One Year."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Ship Mary land, to import her Cargo, Bill.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for giving Leave to the Ship Maryland Merchant, of Bristoll, to arrive, and import her Lading into this Kingdom."

ORDERED, That the Consideration of the said Bill be committed to the Lords following; (videlicet,)

Their Lordships, or any Five of them; to meet To-morrow, at Nine of the Clock in the Forenoon, in the Prince's Lodgings near the House of Peers; and to adjourn as they please.

Conference on Bp. Winton's Bill, for Alverstoke Water-works.

The Commons were come to the Conference; and the Managers Names being read, the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and the Lords went to the Conference.

Which being ended, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Rochester reported, "That they had attended the Conference, and delivered the Bill and Reasons to the Commons."

Message from H. C. to return the Bill for repealing the Act for Relief of Creditors, in Cases of Bankruptcy.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Farrer and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to repeal an Act made the last Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act for Relief of Creditors, by making Compositions with their Debtors, in case Two Thirds in Number and Value do agree;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to their Lordships Amendments made therein.
