The Lord Chancellor reported to the House His Majesty's most Gracious Answer to the Address presented to Him Yesterday.

"My Lords,

"I take this Address very kindly, and give you My hearty Thanks. The House may always depend upon My Kindness; as I do on this Assurance of their Duty to Me, and their Zeal for the Public Good."

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Chancellor do give Order, that the Address of this House, presented to His Majesty Yesterday, and His most Gracious Answer thereunto, be forthwith printed and published.

E. of Grantham introduced.

This Day Henry de Overkirke, being, by Letters Patents, dated Vicesimo Quarto Die Decembris, Decimo Gul. Tertii, created Earl of Grantham, was, in his Robes, introduced, between the Earl of Essex and the Earl of Rochester; the Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod and Herald at Arms preceding.

His Lordship presented his Patent to the Speaker, on his Knee, at the Woolsack; who delivered it to the Clerk: And being read at the Table; as also his Writ of Summons, bearing Date Vicesimo Sexto Decembris, Decimo Gul. Tertii; his Lordship took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes; and was accordingly placed on the Earls Bench.

O'dbury versus Winn.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Oldbury, of London, Merchant, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the First of June One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight, and the Confirmation thereof on the Fourth Day of November last, and subsequent Orders made on the Behalf of Owen Winn:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Owen Winn may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Saturday the Fourteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Berkeley versus Cope et al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of John Berkeley Esquire; and also of Reginald Bretland Serjeant at Law, and Robert Fowle Goldsmith, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Three and Twentieth Day of July last, in a Cause there depending, between Jonathan Cope Esquire, William Cope, and Anthony Cope, (Sons of Jonathan Cope and of Susan his Wife, both deceased) Infants under the Age of Seven Years, by Sir Thomas Peshall Baronet, Sir Robert Jenkinson Baronet, and Henry Farmer Esquire, their Guardians, Plaintiffs, and the said John Berkeley, Reginald Bretland, and Robert Fowle, Defendants; praying the Reversal of the said Decree:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Jonathan Cope, William Cope, Anthony Cope, Sir Thomas Peshall, Sir Robert Jenkinson, and Henry Farmer, may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on Saturday the Fourteenth Day of this Instant January, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Wood et al. versus Dean, in Error.

Upon reading the Petition of James Deane and William Wragg, Defendants in a Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Hester Wood and others are Plaintiffs; praying a Day may be appointed for hearing the Errors argued thereupon:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued, in this Case, on Wednesday the Eleventh Day of this Instant January, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Hayward versus Beastall, in Error.

Upon reading the Petition of Francis Beastall, Defendant, in a Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Robert Hayward and others are Plaintiffs; praying a Day for hearing the Errors argued thereupon:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Errors argued in this Case, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Wednesday the Eleventh Day of this Instant January, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Bp. of Salisbury to preach.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Lord Bishop of Salisbury be, and he is hereby, desired to preach before this House, in the Abbey Church at Westm'r, the Thirtieth Day of this Instant January.
