William Lord North and Grey sat first in Parliament, after the Death of his Father Charles Lord North and Grey.

Lords take the Oaths.

The Lords following took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, pursuant to the Statutes; (videlicet,)

Griffith versus Anwill & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Hugh Griffith, from Decrees pronounced by John Hooke Esquire, Chief Justice of the Great Sessions of the several Counties of Carnarvon, Anglesey, and Merioneth, the Eighteenth Day of August One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-seven, and the Five and Twentieth Day of April One Thousand Six Hundred Ninety-eight, on Behalf of William Anwill Clerk, and Jane his Wife, the late Widow of Owen Wynn deceased, in a Cause wherein they were Plaintiffs, and Owen Wynn Esquire and Hugh Griffith Gentleman Defendants; and praying Relief in the Premises:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Anwill and Jane his Wife may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Monday the Sixth Day of February next, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Sir Sewster Peyton versus Skelton.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, wherein Sir Sewster Peyton is Appellant, and John Skelton and Humphry Browne are Respondents, on Thursday the Six and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Lepell, Nat. Bill.

The Lord Audley reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Nicholas Lepell," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Nicholas Lepell."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice, the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

E. of Darwentwater's Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the more easy and certain Payment of the Debts of Edward Earl of Darwentwater, by Sale of Woods and Timber; and for enabling him to raise Money, for Discharge of Incumbrances upon Part of his Estate."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Miles Cooke and Sir John Francklyn:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Printing, Bill for regulating.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating of Printers and Printing Presses."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Bishop of Salisbury reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the Bill; and desire another Time may be appointed, for them to proceed."

ORDERED, That the House be put into a Committee again upon the said Bill, on Thursday next, at Eleven of the Clock in the Forenoon.
