Report of Precedents of Trials of Peers in Criminal Cases.

The Earl of Manchester reported from the Lords Committees, appointed to inspect the Journals of this House upon former Trials of Peers in Criminal Cases, the Precedents following:

(Which were read, out of the Journals); (videlicet,)

"The Case of the Earl of Pembroke, 1, 6, 7, 19, March, 1677.

"The Case of the Lord Mohun, 11, 13, 14, 20, 23, 26, 28, January, 1692.

"And also, That it is the Opinion of the Committee, That the Indictment be brought before this House by Certiorari."

To which the House agreed, and ordered as followeth; (videlicet,)

"It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Clerk of the Crown in Chancery do issue His Majesty's Writ of Certiorari, to return into this House the Indictment found against Edw'd Earl of Warwick and Holland, in relation to the Death of Mr. Coot."

E. of Warrington versus Sir James Langham.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of George Earl of Warrington, from an Order or Decree of Dismission lately made in the Court of Chancery, in a Cause there depending, wherein the said Earl was Plaintiff, and Sir James Langham Knight and Baronet, and Anne Tipping Widow, Defendants; praying the Reversal of the said Order or Decree:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Sir James Langham and Anne Tipping, may have a Copy of the said Petition and Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Saturday the Eighteenth Day of this Instant March, at Ten of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Okeover's Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Thomas Okeover Gentleman, Son and Heir Apparent of Rowland Okeover, of Okeover, in the County of Stafford, Esquire, together with the said Rowland Okeover, to make a Jointure and Settlement upon the Marriage of the said Thomas Okeover."

The Earl of Rochester reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enlarge the Trade to Russia," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which, being read Twice, were agreed to.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enlarge the Trade to Russia."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill, with the Amendments, shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
