Coals, &c. Duties, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing the Duties upon Coals, Culm, and Cinders."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Viscount Longueville reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Exchequer Annuities, for Sale of, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting an Aid to Her Majesty, by Sale of several Annuities at the Exchequer, for carrying on the War against France and Spain."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Viscount Longueville reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

The Duke of Ormonde reported from the Lords Committees; the Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Nicholaus Wayfoort and Jacob Sanderfelt," without any Amendment.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Ld Bulkeley's Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Hereford reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Richard Lord Bulkeley, Viscount Casshells in the Kingdom of Ireland, and Richard Bulkeley Esquire his Son, to make a Settlement, upon the Marriage of the said Richard Bulkeley," as fit to pass, without any Amendment.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Richard Lord Bulkeley, Viscount Cashells in the Kingdom of Ireland, and Richard Bulkeley Esquire his Son, to make a Settlement, upon the Marriage of the said Richard Bulkeley."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

ORDERED, That the Commons have Notice, that the Lords have agreed to the said Bill, without any Amendment.

Act of Settlement, Bill to explain a Clause in, concerning Persons created Peers, who were born Abroad.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to explain a Clause in an Act, made in the Twelfth Year of His late Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the said Bill.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Herbert reported, "That the Committee had gone through the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

River Darwent, Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the making the River Darwent, in the County of Derby, navigable."

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Second Time.

After Debate;

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall be read a Second Time this Day Fortnight?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

ORDERED, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Wednesday the Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Eleven a Clock.

Message from H. C. for Frek Conference, upon Occasional Conformity Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Annesley and others:

To desire a Free Conference, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference, upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for preventing Occasional Conformity."

To which the House agreed; and ordered the same to be on Saturday next, at One a Clock, in the Painted Chamber.

Answer.

Then the Commons were called in, and told, "That the Lords agree to a Free Conference, as desired; and appoint it to be on Saturday next, at One a Clock, in the Painted Chamber."

Act of Settlement, Bill to explain a Clause in, concerning Persons created Peers, who were born Abroad.

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act to explain a Clause in an Act made in the Twelfth Year of His late Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for the further Limitation of the Crown, and better securing the Rights and Liberties of the Subject," shall not be read the Third Time until after One a Clock; and that all the Lords be summoned to attend To-morrow; and that the Judges do also then attend.

Sir G. Rooke et al. Letters, &c.

The Earl of Nottingham, Principal Secretary of State, by Her Majesty's Command, delivered Papers, pursuant to the Address of this House, the Ninth Instant.

The Titles whereof were read, as follow:

1. "15th June, 1702. Copy, Sir George Rook's Letter and Council of War."

2. "Copy, Admiral Hopson's Letter to Mr. Secretary Hedges, 26th August, 1702."

3. "Copy, Vice Admiral Hopson's Letter to the Duke of Ormonde, 28th August, 1702, O. S."

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing of the Cause wherein John Hayes Esquire is Appellant, and John Carryl and others are Respondents:"

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Saturday the Three and Twentieth Day of this Instant January, at Eleven a Clock.

Prisons, to prevent Escapes from, Bill.

Whereas the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better preventing Escapes out of The Queen's Bench and Fleet Prisons," stands committed to a Committee of the whole House; which is fallen:

It is ORDERED, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House shall be put into a Committee thereupon, on Tuesday next, at Eleven a Clock.
