A Message from the House of Commons, by Sir William Ashurst and others:
Who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the Dangers which may arise, from bringing great Quantities of Gunpowder into London or Southwarke;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
Gunpowder, to prevent bringing to London, &c. Bill.
Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to prevent the Dangers which may arise from bringing great Quantities of Gunpowder into London or Southwarke."
Calthorpe versus May et al.
Upon reading the Petition of Reynolds Calthorpe Esquire, and Samuel Battely Gentleman, Appellants; shewing, "That, by an Order of the Seven and Twentieth of March last, upon the Petition and Agreement then made between the Petitioners and Charles May Esquire and others Respondents;" it was ordered, that this House would hear their Cause, on the Second Tuesday in the next Session of Parliament; and further shewing, That the next (being this present Session) happening so very soon, the Parties could not be ready in so short a Time;" and praying, "that the House would make some further Order therein:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on the Second Tuesday in the next Session of Parliament; and that all other Matters contained in the said Order of the Seven and Twentieth of March last be in Force and observed; whereof all Parties concerned are to take Notice, and attend accordingly.
Judges to attend.
Ordered, That all the Judges do attend this House on Monday next; and that the Lord Keeper do write Letters to such as are out of Town, then to attend.
Adjourn.
