Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable the Honourable William Cecil Esquire and others to sell Lands, for the Payment of several Debts charged upon his Estate by the Right Honourable John late Earl of Exeter, deceased, his late Father."

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for explaining and making more effectual an Act made Anno Primo Annæ, Reginæ, intituled, "An Act giving further Time to John Lord Bishop of Chichester and his Successors, to make Leases of certain Houses and Ground, in and near Chancery Lane, belonging to the Bishopric of Chichester."

Gay's Bill.

The Earl of Dorsett and Midd'x reported from the Lords Committees, the Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Scite, Capital Messuage, or Farm, of the Manor of Southstoke, and Lands thereunto belonging, in the County of Somerset, late the Estate of John Gay Gentleman, deceased, in Trustees, to be sold, for the speedier Payment of his Debts, and better Performance of the Trusts therein mentioned," as fit to pass, with some Amendments.

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Sir A. Brand versus Sir A. Ogilvie.

Upon Consideration of the Petition and Appeal of Sir Alexand'r Brand Knight (read Yesterday), from an Order and Decree of the Right Honourable the Lords Commissioners of the Treasury and Exchequer in North Britain, made the Seven and Twentieth Day of August One Thousand Seven Hundred and Seven, in a Cause there formerly commenced at the Instance or Suit of Sir Alexander Ogilvie Knight, and afterwards prosecuted and carried on at the Instance or Suit of George Mackenzie Sub-taxman of the Excise, against the Petitioner; and praying, "That the said George Mackenzie may answer the Substance of the Petitioner's Appeal; and that the Petitioner may receive such Relief, in all and singular the Premises in the said Petition set forth, as shall be just and equitable."

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said George Mackenzie may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and he is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Friday the Five and Twentieth Day of March next, at Eleven a Clock.

Adjourn.
