L. Maynard takes the Oaths.

This Day Banistre Lord Maynard took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Queen's Answer about Papers concerning the War in Spain:

The Lord Steward acquainted the House, "That the Lords with White Staves having (according to Order) attended Her Majesty, with the Address of this House of Saturday last, for Papers relating to the War in Spain, Her Majesty was pleased to return this Answer:

"That Her Majesty had given Order, that the Papers desired should be transmitted to the House, and all other Papers relating to the War in Spain and Portugal, as the House shall desire from Time to Time, from the respective Offices."

Papers concerning the War in Spain:

Then the Lord Dartmouth, by Her Majesty's Command, pursuant to the aforementioned Address, delivered several Papers.

The Titles whereof were read, and are as follows; (videlicet,)

1. "Earl of Godolphin, January 7th, 1710."

2. "Copy of a Letter from the Earl of Sunderland to Mr. Stanhope, 14th Feb. 170 6/7."

3. "Mr. Stanhope to Sir Charles Hedges, Valencia, January 15th, 170 6/7."

4. "E. Gallway's and Sir Charles Hara's Opinion, in Mr. Stanhope's, 15th January 170 6/7, N. S."

5. "Mr. Stanhope's Opinion, in his Letter 15th January 1707, N. S.

Ordered, That the said Papers be referred to the Committee of the whole House appointed to sit this Day, to take into further Consideration the present State of the War in Spain.

E. of Peterborow's Papers concerning it:

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into the said Committee.

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Peterborow acquainting the House, "That there were several Papers, which he desired might be delivered:"

Mr. Hill was called in, and examined, upon Oath, as to his Knowledge concerning the several Papers delivered by him, at the Bar.

The Titles whereof were read; as follow; (videlicet,)

1. "Two Letters writ to my Lord Treasurer; One 5th January 170 6/7, the other 15th May 1707."

2. "The Project on France and Thoulon, November 10th 1706."

3. "A Letter of Mr. Zinzerling, Secretary to the King of Spain, 7th July 1706."

4. "A Letter from Count Noyelle to the Earl of Peterborow, 6th July 1706."

5. "A Letter from Count Noyelle to the Earl of Peterborow, 23d October 1706."

6. "An original Order under the King of Spain's Seal and Hand, 22d February 1707."

7. "An original Instrument under the King of Spain's Seal and Hand, 4th February 1707."

8. "The Council of War at Guadalaxara, and the King of Spain's Instructions to the Earl of Peterborow going to Italy, dated 9th August 1706."

9. "The Opinion of the Earl of Peterborow at the Council of War at Valencia, held 15th January 1707, which was sent Home to England."

10. "An attested Translation of the King of Spain's Order, dated 4th February 170 6/7."

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Papers be referred to the Committee of the whole House.

State of the War in Spain:

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put again into a Committee.

After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Earl of Abingdon reported, "That the Committee had made some further Progress in the Matter to them referred; and desired another Time might be appointed for the House to be in a Committee again, to proceed further therein."

E. of Gallway and L. Tyrawly to attend.

Ordered, That To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock, this House shall be put into a Committee, to take into further Consideration the present State of the War in Spain.

Ordered, That the Earl of Gallway and the Lord Tyrawly do attend this House To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock.
