PRAYERS.

French Wine, for Importation of, Bill, Merchants heard against it.

The Orders for hearing what could be offered, upon the Petitions of several Merchants and others, in relation to the Bill, intituled, "An Act to repeal the Act of the Third and Fourth Year of Her Majesty's Reign, intituled, An Act for prohibiting all Trade and Commerce with France, so far as it relates to the Importation of French Wines," being read;

And the Counsel and Merchants attending, called in, and heard; and being withdrawn:

It was proposed, "To commit the Bill."

After Debate;

The Question was put, "Whether the said Bill shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, presently.

Then the House was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee thereupon.

After some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Guilford reported, "That the Committee had made some Progress in the said Bill; and desire another Time may be appointed, for the House to be in a Committee again, to proceed further therein."

Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee again, on the said Bill, To-morrow, at Twelve a Clock.

Durham versus Lundine.

Whereas To-morrow is appointed for hearing of the Cause depending in this House, wherein James Durham Esquire is Appellant, and Robert Lundine Respondent:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday next, at Eleven a Clock.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Conyers and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for enabling and obliging the Bank of England, for the Time therein mentioned, to exchange all Exchequer Bills for ready Money upon Demand; and to disable any Person to be Governor, Deputy Governor, or Director of the Bank of England, and a Director of the East India Company at the same Time;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for enabling and obliging the Bank of England, for the Time therein mentioned, to exchange all Exchequer Bills for ready Money upon Demand; and to disable any Person to be Governor, Deputy Governor, or Director of the Bank of England, and a Director of the East India Company, at the same Time."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Second Time To-morrow, at One a Clock.

Burgoyne's Bills:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to make, renew, and fill up, Leases of the Estate of William Burgoyne, late of the City of Exon, Merchant, deceased, during the Minority of his Son and Daughters."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Robert Legard and Mr. Dormer:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.
