An Act for the enabling of John Goode, Esquire, to convey unto His Majesty a small Portion of Land, during a Term of Years. Returned, with certain Amendmendments added by the Lower House, which Amendments were presently Thrice read, and so the Bill Exped.

"Jacobus, Die Gratia, Angliæ, Scotiæ, Fraunciæ, et Hiberniæ Rex, Fidei Defensor, etc. Prædilecto et Fideli Nostro Thomæ Knivett de Escrick Chr. Salutem.

"Cum nuper, de Avisamento et Assensu Consilii Nostri, pro quibusdam arduis et urgentibus Negotiis, Nos, Statum et Defensionem Regni Nostri Angliæ et Ecclesiæ Anglicanæ concernentibus, præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, apud Civitatem Nostram Westmonaster. decimo nono die Martii, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Fraunciæ, et Hiberniæ Primo, et Scotiæ Tricesimo septimo, teneri ordinavimus; et ibidem, cum Prælatis, Magnatibus, et Proceribus dicti Regni Nostri, Colloquium habere et Tractatum; et, post diversas Prorogationes, idem Parliamentum Nostrum usque ad et in decimum octavum diem Novembris ultimo præteritum prorogatum fuerat; vobis, sub Fide et Ligeantia quibus Nobis tenemini, firmiter injungendo mandamus, quod, consideratis dictorum Negotiorum Arduitate, et Periculis imminentibus, cessante Excusatione quacunque, quarto die instantis mensis Julii, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum prædictum, per sonaliter intersitis, Nobiscum, ac cum Prælatis, magnatibus, et Proceribus prædictis, super dictis Negotiis tractaturi, vestrumque Consilium impensuri. Et hoc, sicut Nos et Honorem Nostrum, ac Salvationem et Defensionem Regni et Ecclesiæ predictæ, Expeditionemque dictorum Negotiorum diligitis, nullatenus omittatis. Teste Meipso, apud Westm. 3 die Julii, Anno Regni Nostri Angliæ, Fraunciæ, et Hiberniæ Quinto, et Scotiæ Quadragesimo."

Lord Knivett introduced.

This Day, the Lord Knivett of Escrick, being summoned to this present Parliament by His Majesty's Writ, of the Tenor above entered, was brought into the House, in his Parliament Robes, by the Lord Bergevenny and the Lord Petre, who were also in their Parliament Robes; and thereupon he presented his Writ to the Lord Chancellor, which Writ was presently delivered to the Clerk of the Parliament, to be read in the House; and, after the Reading thereof, the said Lord Knivett was brought by the aforesaid Lords unto his due Place, next beneath the Lord Cavendish.
