Persons Naturalized, or restored in Blood, to take the Oath, &c.

HODIE 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act, That all such as are to be Naturalized, or restored in Blood, shall first receive the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, and the Oath of Allegiance, and the Oath of Supremacy.

Sir Robert Drury's Bill.

The Bill, intituled, An Act for Confirmation of Three several Writings indented, purporting and setting forth the Revocations of Three several Conveyances, or Assurances, made by Sir Robert Drury, Knight, unto divers Persons, upon natural Considerations only, was brought into the House, by the Lord Privy Seal, first of the Committees, without any Amendment or Alteration.

Assignments of Debts to His Majesty.

The Bill against the common Abuse of Assignments of Debts to His Majesty, towards the Satisfaction of Debts due and owing to His Highness by Accomptants, and touching Debts growing to the King by Forfeiture, was brought into the House by the Lord Treasurer, one of the Committees, who signified, That the Committees had met, and taken Consideration of the said Bill, and now returned the same, fit in their Opinions to rest; and also that they had framed a new Bill, for Redress of the Inconveniences in the former Bill meant to be provided for, which new Bill his Lordship desired might be read.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act concerning some Manner of Assignments of Debts to His Majesty.

Lord Hunsdon's Leave to come to the House.

A Letter, directed from the Lord Hunsdon, to the Lord Chancellor, dated 29 Junii, 1610, purporting, That, since the Death of Two of his Lordship's Servants, himself and his Household have been in the Country; all which Space, being Six Weeks, no Infection hath been in his House; that his Lordship doth mean, after One Week more, if he and his continue free, to offer his Service to the House; howbeit, he leaveth it to the Pleasure of the Lords, without whose Allowance he will not presume to repair to the House: Whereupon it was Agreed, That, after Continuance of Health One Week more in his Lordship's House, he may repair hither, and sit among the Lords.

For the better Execution of Justice in the North Parts of England.

The Lord Chancellor remembered the Lords, That whereas the Committees on the Bill for the better Execution of Justice, and suppressing of Criminal Offenders, in the North Parts of the Kingdom of Englande, was heretofore brought back into the House, with an Amendment, or Provision of Exemption of Noblemen and Peers of the Realm; and whereas, the House having also formerly entered into Consideration of the said Amendment or Proviso, Time served not to bring the Matter to a full Resolution, in which regard further Debate thereof was then referred to better Opportunity, that now their Lordships would thereof consider and determine: And, after divers grave and weighty Reasons delivered in that Argument, it was generally Agreed, That the Committees to whom the said Bill was before referred shall again take Consideration, and review the same; and that the Lord Privy Seal and the Lord Knollys shall be added to them; and the Lord Chief Justice of Englande, the Lord Chief Justice of the Common Pleas, and the Lord Chief Baron, to be added to the Judges appointed to attend their Lordships.

Canons Ecclesiastical not confirmed by Parliament.

Ordered, That, on Monday next, the 2d of July, this House will send unto the Lower House, for Conference, touching the Bill for Restraint of Canons Ecclesiastical not confirmed by Parliament.

Non-residence and Pluralities of Benefices.

Appointed, That the Committees on the Bill against Non-residents, and Pluralities of Benefices, shall meet on Tuesday, the 3d of July, in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Council Chamber at Whitehall.

For the better Execution of Justice in the North Parts of England.

The Committees for the Bill for better Execution of Justice, and suppressing of Criminal Offenders, in the North Parts of the Kingdom of Englande, are appointed to meet on Monday, the 2d of July, by Eight of the Clock in the Morning, in the Little Chamber, near the Parliament Presence.

Lord Abergavenny's Bill.

The Lord Chancellor declared, That, in the Bill for enabling the Lord Bergevenny, and Sir Henry Nevill, his Son, to alien certain Lands, are some small Errors: videlicet, "[the said County of Norfolke;]" whereas that County was not before named in the Act; also a mistaking, as is conceived, in the Title, or Addition, given to the Lord Bergevennyes Father; whereupon it was Agreed, That the said Bill shall be recommitted to the same Committees, to meet thereupon on Monday, the 2d of July, at Two of the Clock in the Afternoon, in the Council Chamber at Whitehall.
