PRAYERS.

Hackney Coaches, &c. Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for the House to be in a Committee, to consider further of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating Hackney Coaches, Carts, Drays, Cars, and Waggons, within the Cities of London and Westminster, and the Weekly Bills of Mortality; and for preventing Mischiefs occasioned by the Drivers riding upon such Carts, Drays, Cars, and Waggons:"

It is Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee, to consider further of the said Bill, on this Day Sevennight.

Timber Bill.

Whereas this Day was appointed, for the House to be in a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act to encourage the planting of Timber Trees, Fruit Trees, and other Trees, for Ornament, Shelter, or Profit; and for the better Preservation of the same; and for preventing the burning of Woods:"

It is Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee thereupon, To-morrow Sevennight.

Vestries, Bill:

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for the better regulating Select Vestries, within the Cities of London and Westminster, and Borough of Southwark, and Bills of Mortality; and for preventing any Misapplication of Monies raised or given for the Maintenance of the Poor."

Then, a Petition of the Clergy of London and Westminster, was presented to the House, and read; praying Relief against the Grievances apprehended from the said Bill.

Trustees of Charity Schools, Petition for Relief concerning a Clause in it:

Also, a Petition of the Trustees of the several Charity Schools, within the Cities of London and Westminster, Borough of Southwark, and Bills of Mortality, on Behalf of near Five Thousand poor Children, cloathed and educated in the said Schools, was presented to the House, and read; praying Relief, touching a Clause in the said last mentioned Bill, in relation to Charity Schools.

And, it being proposed, "To commit the Bill;"

And the same being objected to:

The Bill rejected.

The Question was put, "Whether the said Bill shall be committed?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Ordered, That the said Bill be rejected.

Adjourn.
